no thank you, thank you, thank you, for all these amazing honest reviews Uncle David.
thanks
I can think of ways to expand the abilities and use of such a device! I need to keep this in mind!
Based on your Illuminati review from many months ago-- I purchased the Deck of playing cards, blank cards, Unifi, etc etc--their customer service was great. Interesting new product!!!!
Thank you David, much appreciated! Lots of new features in Second Sight with the new version of the App as well :)
Thanks for sharing!
Peeksmith is pretty sweet too!
new and improved 👀 electronics are amazing ... thanks for the honest review David 😉 your monthly subscription program is highly recommended 👍🏻👍🏻
thanks for being a member these past 9 months!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU DAVID
:D
Thanks! I love your reviews!!
Thanks Morgan
Another superlative review, David! Thanks!
Thanks Tony
Still a bit unclear as I'm not familiar at all with Nofif 1. Does it come with anything ready to use that is compatible with the device?(or does Illuminati offer items already paired with device?) Where do I get items that I know are for sure compatible with the device? How do I find out if items I have already are compatible with this or not? Kind of a big open area of questions not explored here.
I actually, covered all of that in the review: I pointed out this is a tool that works with other devices you either already own, or could buy from illuminati. It comes with nothing except the reader. You can visit their product pages to learn more. Enjoy
@@magicorthodoxy I got the jist from the vid, but just meant I wouldn't want to spend the money only to find out that nothing I have will work with this or is compatible..lol! I'll contact Illuminati with my questions. Thanks David.
they have a list of products it works with on the product page

" Technology is going to advance so fast, not just in magic but world wide in the next few years.." David 2021
"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" 1962 Arthur C. Clark
"...an uninformed public tends to confuse scholarship with magicians.."1952 Isaac Asimov
"Witchcraft to the ignorant....simple science to the learned." 1942 Leigh Brackett
I have a poster of Arthur C Clark in my office, with this exact quote. So true!
I do really like this and the way it offers versatility for effects. I think it's important to add this into a routine and not use as a standalone effect. I feel there's a fine line when using technology in magic because as it improves things can become less impossible especially now that generations have been born and brought up with it so if used in a routine and move straight on to your next effect gives spectators less time to try reverse engineering it 👐♣️♥️♠️♦️
I am not a superfan of the magitech crossover, not that it should be pure, just that it always gives a spectator an out, outs should be for magicians. Many would say well, that's your performance and yes, to a degree, I agree but IMO, I still think there is a line. With all that said, this thing is friggin genius and if you use the tools this is compatible with, the price is a no brainer. The SDK or programming instructions provided means this thing is going to sell like hotcakes. Thanks for the review!
"This thing is friggin genius" David Rosen. There is your quote!
In pursuit of the Kill. Chasing the magic moment that leads to gigs.
:D
Hi David, Great review thanks. 👍
For my part ..... Technology and electronic wizardry continue their infection into magic .... And simultaneously the skills required of the mentalist diminish!
this is what all technology does - cell phones have taken away handwriting, good penmanship, visiting people - the internet has taken away books and libraries. Television has taken away family time. .... all technology is an infection. But we happily accept it as we blindly give away what it costs us
So sadly true. We've got a lot faster at doing meaningless things ! And meaningful things we do less!
All the very best David . You're one of the good guys 😁
With my (personal) performances I have a ratio of around 60% "classic mentalism" and around 40% "electronic mentalism", I like to mix the two simultaneously as it makes the method much harder to reverse engineer. With the electronic side, I find that I can focus on my presentation style and it improves my classic mentalism presentation and allows me to provide better banter during the performance. Equally so, I certainly acknowledge that many folks prefer a purist approach - at the end of the day, we all use gaffs of some description, electronic or otherwise, its another tool in your war chest of performances! With electronics, there are some effects that I simply cannot achieve with classic techniques.
@@illuminatimagic I hear you and it makes sense. From your point of view the 'skullduggery' is easier which allows you to give the spectator an enhanced experience. I worry that if/when the method gets out there the art will somehow take a hit. All the best👻
@@pinballwizard666 spot on. We run the same challenge with electronics as we do with all gaffs, whether the audience learns that false shuffle a stacked deck, use a coin shell or use electronics.
My opener is normally using second sight to ask a spectator to place a playing card into a book (which also happens to be a book test), I then determine which playing card they have placed into the book and then move onto the book test.
As the spectator is still perplexed over the initial prediction, they then get blown away by the book test as we have two predictions, one after another, one tech and one classic.
Aren't these the guys that keep ripping off Craig and gang?
The product line is considerable different to ProMystic. I have included a PDF attachment if you are interested in the history of electronic mentalism: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0264/5514/6558/files/Electronic_Mentalism_History_2.pdf?v=1615690164
Across the eco-system of electronic mentalism, there are a myriad of vendors, with many of these vendors claiming that they are the “inventor” of a particular effect. This is particularly prevalent in the field of electronic mentalism. Anverdi was the original creator of the vast majority of the effects and popularized electronics mentalism in the 1970s. Anverdi released the original “Color Match,” “Mental Die,” “Spirit Bell,” “Four D Dominoes” and “Chip Divination” et al between 1972 and 1980 and all serve as the foundation of the electronic
innovator
Cromwan Delure - your answer is above
@@illuminatimagic You are ignoring many basic facts. Anverdi had a big cube with dice spots on it Craig Fillicetti was the first one to make it into an actual die. Anverdi's color match routine was completely different. Craig FIllicetti was the first one to come up with the picasso routine that you are now selling with your pen sense. Did you get permission to include his routine?
@@magicorthodoxy They make the same excuses when they are called out every time. They conveniently ignore certain products also.
@@magicorthodoxy what is your opinion on the toxic calculator in their app?
Great review as always!
I appreciate that
That is a cool tool for the working pro.
agreed
Hey David if I have 3 different electronic tricks in one show can this be set up to switch from one trick to another on the go or can it only be set up for 1 trick at a time? Thanks and nice review :)
I would think so - but you might want to ask Illuminati
Notifier 2 can simultaneously integrate with multiple electronic devices and multiple Magic App.
This means that you don’t need to “switch” from our device to the other - it all works at the same time.
Devices that work with Notifier include; dice, dominoes, poker chips, RFID/NFC, Pens, Magnet Detectors.
Magic Apps that work include Inject, WikiTest, Insight Pro, Web Messaging and many more magic apps being added each month.
@@illuminatimagic Ok sounds great and thanks for the reply I have many electronic tricks and on some, I wish had the option for a thumper signal, and then on others I wish I had a readout option so this might come in handy for me Thanks again :)
Great review,David!
thanks
Old magicians had automated props.David Copperfield has the famous Psycho doll used by Robert Houdin. The growing orange tree was electronic.
yeap
No! You are the best thank you!!
You're the best!
Loved hearing you address the magic vs/meets technology topic. Is there anyway you can review Penn and Teller's VR game? It's got some amazing bespoke VR console tricks on it - but they definitely lean into the "psychology/sociology" of current VR...
thanks for watching
Is Notifier 2 or Peeksmith 3 better?
I never got peeksmith
@@magicorthodoxy I ended up getting a Peeksmith 3 due to my Ellusionist Bias
Hey David, thank you so much for doing the reviews. You’re obviously the best magic reviewer around:). I have an unrelated question about the Informer impression pad pen. My question is, you said that there were instructions on how to gimmick a sharpie, were those like, actually good and work? I’m not so keen on the giant expo marker and the Parapad is off the market due to problems with the sharpie. I would really appreciate your input/recommendations.
-Claytoon
I use Parapad it's the only one I liked. I did a comparison video of all of the impression devices in the membership section
Okay I’ll check that out
Thanks 😊
David, I’ve been looking into this for years now. Don’t you have to have the (RFID/NFC) *READER* to use this?? That thing’s almost FIVE - HUNDGE. 👀😮💨😮💨😮💨
oh yea, this techno magic aint cheap
Is it possible to use this with Inject (app)?
if you know about inject .... wink wink .... you're ahead of the game
Yes, you have Inject Integration built into Notifier 2. When a spectator goes to the Inject Google site and performs a search, then the search term is displayed on Notifier 2.
Notifier 2 can operate in either “hands free” mode to auto scroll through inject messages or manual mode, where you press a button to read the next message.
What’s the difference between “2nd Sight” and “Notifier Two”?
Do they both do the same thing except Notifier 2 displays a picture on the device itself and/or via a thumper while 2nd Sight notifies you via a screen on the fake card deck or your smart phone/watch?
Why is 2nd Sight worth so much more then Notifier 2?
I'd defer to their website to detail the differences
I wonder if it will work with cognito app
good question
Wow. Very good review as you review the latest and the greatest. Don't u wanna review to the magicians. It might be nice. And the notifier is really small. Thank u for everything.
review to the magicians? I don't understand
@@magicorthodoxy Yeah. I mean talk about the famous magician. like how much he or she is great and their famous tricks.

Day 127 of saying hi
hi
Technology is awesome , but if technology gets to the point of being the norm all tricks will be signed off as just that . like most people I know think magic done on TV as camera tricks . I think the lack of tech in magic is what makes it mystical once its widly known that there is tech in magic than it will lose alot of its wow factor . Dont get me wrong I love technology and am excited to see where it goes , I just fear it will kill the art as it will be less amazing if that makes any sense lol
Tech will never replace performance - it is simply another tool in your arsenal. I am an advocate of combining traditional methods with electronics. For example, I could have spectator #1 choose a card and then control the card to the top. Spec #2 then rolls the dice so nobody can see the result, I then do a pass of the required number of cards to the top, so the spec #1 cards is at spec #2 position. Then I hand the deck to Spec #1 who counts down and Spec #2 tell him to stop when he counts down the card.
I am not trying to highlight the routine, just trying to emphasise that the "tech" should be transparent to the user. Just like a thumb tip or a shell :)
The more any technology gives us ... it takes away something that we once thought was valuable.
