Continue? When have they ever been the big dog?

  • @isaacdrost15

How can you even say Texas will continue to be the BIG DOG in the SEC? They have been middle of the pack in the BIG 12 since their last playoff appearance back in 2009 I believe it was. Yes last year did bring back the Texas Longhorns and playoff appearance , but they have not been consistent before that with winning the BIG 12. Oklahoma was more consistent than Texas.

Bro nobody on the Texas side is pounding their chest about being the top dog. Texas has recruited on par with the big dogs in the SEC. No Texas wasn't the big dog in the Big 12, however none of those players are on this roster. Sark isn't Herman or Charlie so we can't blame this regime for past failures. If we are talking about consistency 5-7, 8-5, to conference champs and a playoff appearance. That my friend is not only consistent, but improvement.

Look I’m not saying we are the big dogs in the conference. At the same time we showed we can compete with sec this last season. We play Georgia this year, and lets see how that goes also y’all have been keeping up with recruiting with Texas this last couple of seasons we been making very quiet but big moves. We are getting the talent and keeping it in Texas.

They weren't even the big dogs in the big 12. Ewers is overrated and they are replacing most of their wr corps, def line, and secondary. They're going to take a step back this year plus lose to Oklahoma again.

Texas is the 4th winningest sports program in all of college sports. NIL and SEC announcement boosted their recruiting. So keep talking. If $ is a factor watch out. They just needed the right athletic director and coach which they have now.

How does any team lose a home game with a 9 game schedule? Currently with the 8 game schedule everybody plays 4 home and 4 road games. With a 9 game schedule they play 4 home and 5 road games year 1 and 5 home and 4 road games in year 2. Seems to me they gain a home game every other year.

When was Texas the top dog in anything? Winning the Big12 4 times in 28 tries is fairly pathetic for a "blue blood" program. As for the SEC it remains to be seen. I would imagine they will be a mid to upper third team like they were in the Big12 and will occasionally compete for a championship while mostly disappointing over inflated preseason expectations.
