@Nasse i feel like Chaos AD is underrated. It was a groove metal/thrash record very similar to Pantera's style of music. Roots however was very ambitious and ultimately failed to deliver

They are heavily influenced by band like Sepultura and Metallica but bring it all in the future doing things that sound so hard and heavy. Its one of the only new bands ive gotten into since the late 90's. Gojira and Jinjer also does a cool new thing creating their own signature way.
Goddamn Arise was a brutal album! A true highlight in metal history. The rhythms on that album hold their own against the likes of classic metallica, megadeth and slayer riffs.
Add Death Angel,Exodus and Testament to that list. Sepultura was on par with the BayArea thrash bands

Watching this back on VHS it seemed so insightful, primitive even, the whole show the interviews, it was honest as fuck.
Looking back now, 30 years later, we took this shit for granted. The whole band isn't even together anymore. We had it good, really good.

They were the greatest thrash metal band on the planet when they were the original unit and they were just getting into gear when it came crashing down. Metallica anthrax Megadeth were glad of it. Slayer is slayer but the big 4 would be completely different. We witnessed a giant killer that ultimately committed suicide.

I'am a fan of both Sepulturas. Derrick is great to my ears and music. But the REAL SEPULTURA is the best. Unmatched, untainted. That Fakeultura it's a really another band. Really different on all aspects. Not even close to the real one. But it's good, good music, good album. But that, it's somebody else BUT NOT SEPULTURA.
The only, the original and the best. This band is not exist Anymore. And i really miss them.
