Great update, I will try for sure. One thing, for a long run, with hills there is a lot of pull on the heels. Velcro slips. So I use the velcro to dial it in, takes a week or so. Then I sew it into place. Works amazing.
That's a really interesting approach! Very cool idea. One of the big improvements with this new system is there is far less slipping of the heel strap, because the posts now maintain the heel strap's height and angle on the foot.
Man, I really loved the out-sole wrap around. It was such an aesthetically pleasing design feature and I always found comfortable. I run in my warriors about three times a week and have never had any issues.
Corey glad to hear that your warriors are still serving you well! Also I'm stoked you liked our previous design. I think it was a really solid design and it worked well for a lot of people. That being said I think the new design is even better and it will work for an even broader range of people. As someone who has worn and loved the old sandals for years, when the time comes I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the new laces and how true to the old ones they are. Even though they don't wrap around the side.
@@Shammasandals is the distance between the laces more narrow now due to the fact that it isn't wrap-around anymore? I just tried them on and have a pressure point at the right side of my foot. Wondering if this will go away after a while as the lace is getting softer? Hope you can help
@@michaelhelinger5869 I have the same problem and actually I'm not sure if it will get more comfortable, because I don't think that this thick gum will form to my footshape.🤔 I am now thinking about changing to the cruzers, because they wrap around the side.
What about Bedrocks? I’m debating between them and the Mountain Goats since they seem to be the most comparable due to the thickness. Both systems seem great but I feel like the bedrock sandals’ toe post would be more comfortable. Then there is the threat, they are very different. Other than that both are USA made.
Hey Josh! We spoke on the phone about the Mountain Goats and if they were black or brown..... I went ahead with the order and sprung for 2 day shipping. They should make it to me before my Alaska trip. I will definitely give you a review after I break these babies in! - Steph
What is the name of material that you use for footbed? I also making sandals and i have a lot of request for vegan version but i was unable to find good material in europe for vegan footbed. thank you
Is there a way of ordering a super goat with this new lacing system in leather. I really like the super goats but dont like the design of the strap going around the sole and making contact with the dirt.
Jose, No problem. Just send an email to contact@shammasandals.com. Address it to Hailey and tell her what custom creation you want. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks, Josh
@@Shammasandals thanks so much thats awesome. I know I want the super goats for sure but I have seen some descriptions that label it as a casual sandal, would u still recommend the super goat as a trail sandal or is it really better suited as a casual sandal. Thanks so much for your reply
How durable are the side plugs? I would be a little concerned about them breaking over time. Did you guys test the durability of that design against the previous- with the webbing looped around the bottom?
We test for durability all the time. I'm still wearing the original pair of warriors I made with the new lacing system last year. I run about 20-25 miles a week in them and I think they have a few months left in them. Right now the sole looks like it will go before for the plugs do. Just a reminder if for some reason the plugs did break you can always send them in and we would repair them free for charge. We stand behind our sandals and take care of our customers. One of the reasons we went with the side plugs is that they are the same as the toe plugs we have been using for years. I also believe that the new plug design distributes the pressure around the ankle slot evenly whereas the old lacing system put pressure exclusively on the outboard portion of the that soling material. One other thing to consider is that the plugs are recessed on the mountain goats and chargers so they don't make that much contact with the ground. Long answer but I hope it helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks, Josh
@@Shammasandals Thank you for the thorough response. I am considering options for a new pair of running sandals, and am heavily considering the Mountain Goats.
@@rickwebermusic The Mountain Goats are a very good option for running and my go to running sandal in the winter. I typically run in the grip top model with powerstraps to help with wet conditions, charging through puddles in a rainstorm is a favorite of mine. I also like the fact that the extra height of the sandal keeps me out of the mud a little bit. In the dry seasons I like chargers or warriors with leather. Let me know if you need any other info.
@@joshstiles1761 One more question, do you find the leather footbed to be grippy enough when your feet start sweating? Most leather footbeds I've used tend to get very slippery.
Keep up the good work! Thanks for "walking" us through the changes!
Thank you!
