Thank you for sharing these recipes with us. With everything you have going on it’s humbling to know you still have time to do this. Praying for you 🙏🏽
So nice to see you on here again! Glad you showed how to make all of these, as I need to start making these and keep forgetting. You have a beautiful apothecary and I strive to have one like you some day! I’m just beginning this healing journey!
Girl, that fire cider looks lethal. 😂🤣😂 No cold would dare try to compete with that. Lol The elderberry syrup looks amazing! Thank you for all three recipes. Think of you often. 👩🌾💚🫙
Lol! That’s the point! Run that cold and flu right on outta there! I hope you’re doing well! ❤️❤️ thank you for your continued support and encouragement. It means a lot.
Great video! Thanks for the ideas. The honey garlic I have tried and love and look forward to making the other two. Thank you for sharing. Continued prayers for you! 💜
Thank you so much! The fire cider is spicy!! 🥵 But it works! Glad you were here today. It’s feels good to be making videos again. ❤️❤️Hope you and your family are doing well.
Another amazing video Julie ! Thank you so much! I was wondering about fire cider the other day! So happy to see you feeling good!!!! Prayers and love to you always!!!!!!❤
Thank you for sharing Ms Julie! I think that we were both making Fire Cider at the same time. I had my family over peeling and chopping all of the veggies and filling the jars. We have another 4 weeks to go. Yesterday, I strained my 7 week Elderberry tincture. Then, also made elderberry syrup for everyone. I have the honey infused garlic ready to go as well. I didn't realize that I'm on the way to developing my own Apothecary. You have given me that confidence. Thank you so much. I was so excited to see your video this morning. Take care and stay blessed my friend.
Thank you! It sounds like you are well on your way to having a well stocked apothecary! It takes times and it’s definitely ok to learn as you go. It’s better that way. You gain confidence in each new remedy and tincture. And then before you know it it comes second nature. It won’t feel foreign to make these things. It will just be part of the seasonal routine. I am so proud of you for taking the leap! ❤️❤️
Thank you for this wonderful video! I just made the garlic & honey yesterday. Can I use a plastic mason jar lid? I'll have to go in our back pasture to see if we have elderberry's. I have never looked. The fire cider...I'm a big chicken so I will not try this one.😂 I'm thankful your feeling a little better & keeping you in my prayers! God Bless!
You can use a plastic lid for this. I do that sometimes too. Just whatever you have. The elderberries are usually ready towards the middle to end of summer so the chance may have already passed for this year. But you could always buy dried elderberry for this too. The fire cider is definitely an acquired taste. I still don’t love it. But I tolerate it like any other medicine. It only lasts for a minute. ❤️
So good Julie !!! may I ask what are all the little dark bottles in your cabinet ? I have made the garlic with honey and I found some homemade elderberry just yersterday . I need to make up the firecider . I love this
Most of those small bottles are tinctures. I use different herbs and extract their properties with alcohol. It takes about 4- 6 weeks or so to make a tincture. They are also very powerful when used against different ailments. I will try to make a video soon about making tinctures.
Thank You for this beautiful reminder to restock my natural apothecary stash too! Would You happen to know how long fire cider & garlic honey are good for? I do have leftovers from last year but I am not too sure if they are still good to use...
They should still be fine. The fermentation process helps it last for a long time. I probably wouldn’t push out 2-3 years but a year is def ok. Just check to make sure everything looks and smells healthy. ❤️❤️
Are you supposed to remove the garlic from the Honey at some point so it stops fermenting? Is this Shelf stable? Thanks for sharing all the wonderful recipes
Looks great.,,,. Didnt realize so ma y ways to make.... especially love 🍊oranges and 🍯 honey. ( HONEY medicinal medicine: : ) I ,ove to make fresh juice daily, home cooking dai,y ,along with trying to keep a positive attitude with my cancer journey, . Armmune booster, ARMOR booster for the way it makes me feel, overall. I really enjoy YOU and your videos. 💕 Looks tasty thank you so much for sharing Love and light Mary
This was the first year we were able to put back elderberries for syrup. However, many of the recipes I’ve saved says I can store it for a month or two in the refrigerator. I heard you say 6 months….why would it only last a month or two in other recipes? With my first batch I made 6 pints and don’t want to cannot due to the raw honey in it. Would it be good for 6 months?
I have heard many different recipes and timetables with elderberry. I have always kept mine for up to 6 months. But I always use my judgement too. If it looks or smells bad I don’t use it. I don’t know why everyone has a different timetable. There is no governing body over our syrups. So we have to decide.
If taking the cider 'prevents sickness, illness and disease', I don't understand the need to apply it when you are sick. After all, that's what it prevented from happening according to part #1 of the claim? 🤔
It’s a tonic. Not a miracle worker! Lol! It helps along with and good diet, exercise, and healthy lifestyle choices. We are all just people who are trying their best to live and be healthy. But sometimes we get sick too. Wishing you all the best! 😉
It all looks beautiful and yummy. Glad you are back recording. Sending hugs and prayers.
