The fact that the dressing sense of Chinese people are extremely decent and they are extremely pretty and fashionable
PERIOD.🔥
I swear this is why every time I find something super cute I want to but it’s almost always from China but I don’t wanna wait like 2 months for it to get here 😭✋
They r
They r the ppl with the most fashionable outfit ideas and makeups out there
the fact that they brought a sickness world wide is even more mind blowing
But remember its only main big cities usually other places people are not dressed as super models at all only those places
If you go to xihu in hangzhou, you will most definitely see people dressed in traditional Chinese clothing called hanfu. These people wear many accessories with the lighter spectrum as their main clothing color. They are flowy and beautiful.
I like so much the ancient and modern Hanfu Style. Hanfu is the most typical cloth of chinese created dresses over thousends of years. An own special look. I like it so much, that I bought a complete Hanfu dress with all accsessories. In germany no one knows something about chinese traditional cloth of all dynasties. I'm learning now.
I enjoy seeing the traditional dress. So beautiful. Thank you 🙏
Absolutely right!
If they're not staged, why are the same people in 99% of them? With camera men and women running around them? So yes, most are staged. But hey I still dig them, what's the problem?
@@GregMoore-pm2vzIt depends what site you view. Yes, some are staged with the same models. Some are not staged with models, but 'fashionable' people who like to be seen. 🙏
She’s completely right. This is not the way your everyday Chinese person dresses. This is the way rich, fashionable people dress to spend a day shopping in the very high-end shopping districts of the big cities. The American equivalent would be dressing up to go shopping on Rodeo Drive
rich? Is this how rich people dress in China? I thought they dressed more decently and elegantly
@@Isuck784bro being elegant doesn't mean only a goofy ass suit like bro do you have sense of fashion and plus the thing that i like about china is that they don't have labels about gucci dior or chanel that doesn't matter to them they can be elegant when they want with any dress or clothes and plus is not like their clothes aren't expensive your just saying that because you ain't seeing the big companies
Normal local stores still sell fashionable clothes and they're cheaper. You just dont know cuz you live in America
What you said is actually true now that I realize, cause whenever I go to the shopping district in Seattle (I live an hour away from there) where the rich Chinese tourists are always spotted, THEY DRESS JUST LIKE THE ONES IN THE VIDEO, they're dressing like Blair Waldorf with their Chanel bags and looking like they're going to Paris fashion week!!
@marikkelaszlo3355 wait what? They dress like that while on vacation, too. Usually id be afraid to dress like that in America
In Changsha city too. I miss that. You'll see people in cosplay costumes, people dressed like models and people dressed like they done with life😂 It was the best because it allows you to dress however you want with no judgement.
Are you talking about Changsha in Hunan? 🙂 Through my university, I went to Yueyang to study there over the summer in 2014 for 2 months.
The students who chosed to stay with a host family were sent to Yueyang whereas those who chose to stay in dormitories were sent to Changsha.
I was able to go to Yiyang as well for a day (I was adopted from an orphanage there many years ago).
I miss Chinese street food, so I hope I can go there again some day. 😋

Its like another version of Harajuku in Japan, and honestly, i need a whole list of all these fashionable fashion districts all around the world because I'm obsessed with its creativity
People come to these shopping districts dressed like supermodels so that photographers take their videos or picture.
And edit alot
@@kamwamang.12such as....?
Lmao, and they’re just normal people.
What a world… 😅
@@babybibil4556Everything. They edit them white and skinny with long legs.
Rodeo Drive is the same
As a Canadian in Beijing and Shanghai, I found so many stunningly beautiful and fashionabe people. Had a great time sitting in cafes and people watching 😍
Most of those video were taken at Taiguli shopping districts in Chengdu, where many influencers or fashion models could be spotted in here.
I lived in Chengdu for 8 years. People really do dress like this in Taikooli. The opposite end of the spectrum is those amazing red floral ayi coats 😅
Thanks for the info! I gotta go there❤
Exactly! Damn I miss my shopping trip in taikooli.. there was some pretty good restaurants as well
Absolutely adore the ones wearing Hanfu
Same I love them all of them are really beautiful
It's not just the fashion though. It's the filter they use to make everyone look tall
@@Uj-rf1pq😅
The filter makes them look freakishly tall, but people from mainland China are actually super tall. They're so different from Chinese American. Had a layover in China and 90% of the people there were taller than me. For reference, I'm a 5'2" girl.
Yep even in Taiwan, I basically looked like a hobbit amongst the tall chinese people and I'm 5'3...😅during my vacation there.
Tbh most likely the videographers just pick the tall people out of the crowd to be in their videos. Body proportions can also make people look taller. The narrower your frame, the taller you tend to look + some people think someone being leggy automatically means they're tall.
@@RustFox no. it's a filter to make their legs look longer, it's been talked about and people have shown before/after which is pretty scary that it can be applied to videos/moving images, not just photos anymore. It's weird that she didn't address them using "beauty" filters.
If you go to places like 大唐不夜城 in xi an you'll see people dressed up in traditional costumes and its pretty cool, you can rent your own too :))
I had a similar culture shock when I went to Tokyo. Everyone was dressed so nice compared to the city I live in in my country it was amazing 😭
That’s common in rich Asian countries
Interestingly enough, I had a reverse- culture shock when I moved to California after living in an Asian country. I expected Americans to be fashion- conscious as they are always photographed perfectly for famous magazines and films, etc.
Yet, I noticed most are dressed sloppily. Some are simply devoid of any fashion sense! Asians who grew up in big modern cities like Tokyo, Beijing, or Manila are very aware of top designer brands, wear designer clothes and are always dressed fashionably when in public places.
@@lorealej9817 but how do average chines afford to buy high fashion clothing!?
@@udontevenwannaknowbruvThe same way average Americans buy luxury brands, they spend beyond their means. Either using credit or they use all their money on those expensive things in an attempt to look richer but then struggle to pay for their basic needs.
@@udontevenwannaknowbruv
You don't have to buy expensive labels just to look stylish. Have good fashion sense to mix match, also with make up & hair style
I'm from a western country. However I never once thought that those videos are fake. But then I work in cyber security so I know the difference between real and fake.
I'm grateful that I get to see real videos of China since I will probably never get the chance to visit China. I'm tired of state sponsored 'news' from both the US and China.
Thank goodness for social media!❤
and Chengdu has a lot too. Some actually are celebrities, some are influencers, and some are just fashionable people.
Are they all actually that tall or is it a filter?
A lot of the celebs and influencers are tall in general, but they look even taller because they're so skinny. I have seen some use filters though.
@@hammypie A lot of people think Chinese people are short because of Asian stereotypes. Most males are 6ft or more. Plus, they’re usually skinny which makes them look taller.
This is true even in small cities in China. If you shop to small boutiques most of the ladies dressed like models. They model their clothes. Even in Urumqi lady taxi/bus drivers have perfect hair and make up.
And the thing about some cities in China, is that that are not really judgemental about what you wear. When I was studyinv in Beijing years ago, no one bats an eye at me when I wore the hanfu(traditional Chinese dress) or some lolita dress, or skin tight leather pull overs. It's completely freeing and impresses me up til this day.
Just don't wear a kimono.
@@jonathancohen2351, China is not the best place on Earth to be if you're black too.
Yep, I lived in Chongqing for three years and while it's not a hyper fashion capital, you could see people wearing all kinds of goofy stuff and just no one cared one way or another.
beijing is a big city tho and most big cities anywhere around the world are like that, its more outstanding if small cities in china are like that too
The traditional one hits different.. Love it!!
Its the ridiculously unsubtle leg lengthening filter😂 and slow motion 😂
Have you been to China??? Is that why so many African, Americans and European women are marrying Chinese men in china??? 😊
@@maixiong9113 intercounty marriages are probably linked to globalisation not tiktok filters and slow motion cameras.
Yeah but they all have beautiful faces regardless.
I was wondering about those seriously long legs...
@@Leto2ndAtreidesmost of these videos of them walking don’t use the lengthening filter :)
I live in Chengdu and there’s a lot of people filming street fashion and doing photoshoots in our fancy shopping center called Taikooli (太古里). It’s a luxury shopping mall that is styled with Classical Chinese architecture and even has a temple in the middle. It’s funny when I’m looking at Chinese social media and see some of these street fashion videos and know exactly where they are
The fact are they are so beautiful and fashionable
They look fantastic. Like a different planet.
What is fake is their height, the length of their legs. It's obvious it's app.
There's a filter that makes the legs look longer. But these fashion districts are usually in Shanghai or northern china, where people are much taller than in the south. It's actually very common to find women around 5ft7 and men above 6ft.
Since china is around the same size as Europe, the northerners are tall, slim and fair skinned. The people in the south have darker skin, stronger facial features and are generally shorter.
Kinda like in Europe. An Italian man vs a Norwegian.
Thing is, the southerns have a maritime culture, which means most foreign Chinese immigrants are southerners. Most western people haven't seen many northerners before, unless they go over to northern china.
I have seen these Chinese at several of our International Airports in the USA that arrived from China's northern cities. They are usually tall in my experience with heights looking on par with the Dutch.
But Shanghai is in southern China?@@slayergut
even this video looks like it’s facetuned 😭
@@SunLightheonly middle
I'm happy for them. They are beautiful people with still lots of opportunities. I remember well that in the 70ties, they had no choice but had to wear those grey suits and only had bicycles and no cars. China has come a long way within a very short time. Bravo.
Maybe some but many of them are staged. They are infact models or influencer s.
You can find same people in multiple videos.
They are staged to look like random and spontaneous but they are not.
I'd say it's true for videos taken outside of these areas, but what she explained should be taken as the origin of the trend and separated from how the trend eventually evolved worldwide
It’s not. The encounter is not fake. It’s just taken at a shopping district that is famous and known to have many models, influencers and celebrities visit there. Many photographers go there because it is known to be a high end place and many celebrities live near there. That’s also why you see some people in different videos, they live there and shopping there is part of their daily life. There was even a case where a celebrity was caught on camera going on a date with his mistress without his wife knowing.
They’re not staged. These people regularly go to these shopping districts in trendy clothing. It’s often a weekly thing. Sometimes it’s planned amongst a group so you see the same people in groups all the time.
Huh, an Indian expert in all fields 😅😅
They models or modes to be doesn’t make this is staged. They just dress fashionable and not for photo assignment or commercial purposes. They are like everyone walking on the street and other people take pictures or videos of them.
I visited bejing 1 time in winter and its true. People there are very fashionable… they are dress in styles … and they are walking on the street in that attire ❣️
Some people cant accept that some people have good taste. In chengdu, theres this one really specific area in the city where theres just heaps of shops selling top quality hanfu, qipao and lolita dresses for some reason and there are plenty well dressed people around and in there.
WHAT?? Man now I regret not going to ChengDu. For future reference, where can I shop for hanfu in ChengDu?
is it hard to think they are fake? You guys should think logically not everything has to do with the country or jealousy.
You think they wouldn't think filming people walking by sometimes winking or giving a thumbs up to the camera is fake if it happened in another country?
I even wondered if it was staged and let me tell you it was not because it was in China or because of how they dressed.
This comment section was extremely botted wtf
@@sugarzblossom8168Some probably are, some probably aren’t. And Tbf there definitely are some people that use anti Chinese stereotypes to justify their claims, but not everyone.
@@scholarssolutions6735 I don't know all the comments that I have seen think they might be models because they acknowledge and wave or give a thumbs up to the camera or it is just the fact that the videos seem the same as those of models being filmed.
I wish shops in South Africa had fashion like that -- and were affordable . I love how fashionable they are !

So pretty... I love Chinese street fashion
you are so pretty omg
well there's a reason why hangzhou and shanghai have many designer brands in the city locally or internationally, plus two fashion school in shanghai.
Teaching fast fashion skills? Because most clothes I get made in china don’t last long. I’d like to see something more sustainable come out of there.
@@iPanda1000 exactly, fashion for the poor and the rich
@@iPanda1000have you considered that the clothes you get from china are bad quality because you bought them for a cheap price?? lol. other countries exclusively import cheap, low-end or even counterfeit chinese goods because they want to consume luxury for a cheap price but then simultaneously try to belittle the products they're consuming. If you care about the quality so much then use that money to keep high quality local vendors in business instead of chasing fast fashion trends
@@iPanda1000Thats because they export the cheap stuff. China is a big country and they for the most part keep their luxury brands in China because their isnt even a need to expand considering they are 17% of the world population.
That's interesting and They actually all look really good 💖
You are also a very pretty girl!!!
I went to Korea a few weeks back and visited Sinsa dong. It's the hip and trendy area. Most of the visitors I saw dressed very very fashionably with superb make up look are the Chinese tourists. Koreans usually dress similarly to each other, that's my opinion. They have certain standard of what's currently trendy. In autumn, most people will probably dress in autumn colors like beige, brown, with modest look (sweaters, etc). The Chinese ones that I saw, most of them dressed for pictures.
The clothes they're wearing are real, the pointy dorito chins and 5 cm waists with chop stick legs are filtered AF
Dorito chins LOL. 💯
I love seeing how these women and men dress! The clothes are so much fun to see, all kinds of different styles❤️
It's not about street fashion
But the weird filter which makes the tall (in a weird way)💀
It almost looks like scary spider legs
Thank you.I love them,so beautiful, fashionable and some so elegant as well.🔥👌🏽
Thats so true. I went to china once and it was a tourist attraction, a street by a riverside, and a lot of people were wearing hanfus and flowers in their hair. It was really pretty and i found out there were shops that rent these costumes to people
I want to visit so badly. I binge watch those videos for hours..💎💎💎💎💎
Nobody that has ever lived in China would believe that these are real. On a regular basis people can’t even bother to comb their hair. Only major cities might have rare areas where you could find something like this
Rare is still real tough. Saying these models or rich people walking around in ultra fashionable clothes are not real is a stretch. They aren’t really random encounters, but they are rent staged either.
You live in dirt poor area
@@siewbengwee4530 yes in dirt poor Beijing lol. Get a life mate

the dudes who walk around with their undershirts pulled over their bellies are also real 😂
Well not everyone in the US looks like Kim Kardashian but everyone on Tiktok does for some reason. You should live in every corner of the US and China to learn a lesson in reality.
So, in a sense, it still is staged. People get all dolled up in high fashion outfits with their hair and makeup done to perfection, and then strut around fashionable areas because they KNOW photographers will snap their photos and put them on the internet. It's not technically staged, but it's still contrived and manufactured.
No not really... The bar for dressing is way higher. There's an expectation to be well dressed, and like Rodeo Drive in LA, unless you're well dressed, the store employees / attendants will ignore you (literally providing zero help) bc you're deemed senseless / not worth their time. Also in these kinds of boutiques, they usually put one display item out and you're required to get an attendant for help if you want to buy or try on anything, if they ignore you, then you don't get help. You gotta look the part to be treated the part. People want a place they can go to as an occasion to dress outlandish or even extreme that wouldn't be welcomed in most circumstances. It's like if someone were to wear clubbing or skimpier attire during the day, it's not appreciated unless it's in that specific instance.
Also, no one dresses up in crazy fashion with expectations to be photographed in harujuku Japan, they just all want to dress up and hang out with friends with similar mindset, not sure why this wouldn't be the same case outside of everywhere else in the world. People who go to these places also appreciate and put effort into their clothing. A more specific example of this would be chengdu, which is known for the traditional attire. The entire area (even locals across all age groups), dress in traditional attire and they aren't looking to be photographed. It's just the expectation/accepted if you're going to be in that area.
No… They get dressed up to go shopping not to be taken photos of… many people dress fashionably but find the photographers annoying af
@@duoduo9058 most of people that dress extremely fashionable in those districts are expecting photos being taken, like there are literally tons of photographers you can’t ignore them
No. In the 1970s to 1990s, people use to dress up in downtown NYC outside of clubs and whatnot. There was no tiktok back then, but you would have seen similar things. It just is happening in China now, this is wh y.
@@hannnahyin1993 Yes. They are expecting photos to be taken but that does not mean they all like it and dress for it. That’s just sth they have to live with.
It’s the same everywhere, the only issue is when u try to say this is how everyone dresses, not a select few in one very wealthy city.
It would be like going to Beverly Hills back in the 90s and capturing all the people there & passing that off as ALL of America.

I lived in Shanghai like 10 years ago and went to a lot of events and the best clubs and at the clubs you would see people dressed very nicely. The fashion back then was very different on the streets: a lot of animal print, a lot of lace, very small skirts and shorts but very covered in the upper part, tights with different patterns, in the winter the boots and most of the clothing had fur.
i like their style of fashion.. they're like models

You forgot to tell us that they probably elongate their legs using an app lmao
So kind of like how a lot of people, especially alt people, dress up to go to a mall here in the USA? Pretty cool!
Why don't people say the same about Harajuku in Japan ?
I don't know why anything related to China is seen as cheap, fake or staged ??
exactly! i also made the same comment
Its political
Stereotypes
My assumption is cuz Harajuku is more well known. If you're seeing a video or photo of someone fashionable in Japan someone in the comments has explained Harajuku and Japanese fashion culture. The China equivalents don't really get that experience, I've never once seen a comment on those videos giving background on the area or style, because it's new to the western audience so no one knows yet.
It's actually called "luxury image", that being the idea of luxury that people around the world have about a specific country. For example, France has a high luxury image internationally but not everyone there is rich or eat, drink expensive (so, not just fashion but also way of life). China has that cheap 'stigma' around the world.
PS I know it's an old comment, sorry
I wear a lot of the styles and clothes I love watching these street fashion videos.
Fake or not

I’ve always been fascinated by the culture, the fashion, the food, and the music!
Truth be told, I go looking for some of the outfits and some of them I already have ☺️

These street fashion videos bring me joy! It is quite well known that there are plazas where people dress up, this has been going on for decades. Europe has to level up! I personally dress up whenever I feel like it as this lifts my mood and is an expression of my imagination and self care, externals aren't necessarily superficial, details say a lot about us ans make us more assertive.
That's bullshit if you say it's not staged lol clearly I can see people in the bg with normal clothes
I’ve seen this in Boston. It’s not staged, it’s just that some people are very rich and like to wear high fashion in public. The people in regular clothes aren’t the background, they’re the rest of us.
Because they're dressed so cool and look more pretty they film them, they don't film ordinary people. Don't you understand that LMAO?
Many are actors on their way to the studios, its not like in the U.S. with everything in one place. The ones wearing period clothes like Hanfu are the actors. They do the walk to help promote the upcoming shows. There are lots of ppl wearing stylish clothing they show up everyday so if you're there you can recognize them. The photographers love it. My brothers took me to watch this because I was hoping to see my favorite C-drama star. I didn't see him.😢😂😂

they are really skinny and tall..but not all chinese girls is tall too.
cause manny chinese girls is working to indonesian club and they're really tall and skinny.
btw im asian too,but im indonesian.
There are 2 simple answers: nutrition and what the photographers choose to present to you. Children have received better nutrition than the past generations, so the average height of the population increase. Some also take supplements, and genetic is a part of it as well. Secondly, if you pay attention to the people in the background, they are pretty average. Keep in mind that China is so big and has over billions of people. With that size of a population, you can still find people that are taller than average relatively easy. Cosmetics leg-lengthening surgery was banned, so I don’t think any of them would go through that kind of procedure (plus it’s quite risky, and they would have to relearn how to walk all over again. Not to mention the cost of it too.)
@@BasketedBiscuits True, nutrition can make you taller but you would still have a variation of body types. These ppl are like ALL supermodel skinny, which is a pretty rare body type to have naturally
@@himesilva yh rereading it now im not sure what point was I trying to make anymore lol. I was probably sleep deprive but whatever. But you have to keep in mind that Asians are typically skinny and it's pretty much the beauty standard there. As an Asian, this type of body is not as rare as you might think (at least from my observation). If you pay attention to the people in the back ground you'll see other body types as well. The camera person just pick and choose who to present to the media.
