i got outrun online on ps3 and 360 and outrun 2 on 360 , am i missing something with the fitst one Coast to coast ? or is it the physical release of outrun online arcade ?? yjx for the video and the possible answer cos im a fan ^^
Coast 2 Coast contains all the tracks from the arcade versions of Outrun 2 and Outrun 2 SP. Outrun 2 doesn't have the 15 SP tracks in it, but it does contain the bonus Scud Race and Daytona USA 2 tracks that aren't in any other version. Outrun Online Arcade contains all the courses from Outrun 2 SP only, so between the 2 games you have you've got all the stages. Coast 2 Coast does also feature a load of extra cars, music and game modes that aren't in OR2 or OOA and the way the challenge games work means that the game can mix and match stages from both version of the game - you can see an example here where the game goes from the Sunny Beach stage in Coast Coast to the Palm Beach stage in OR2: ruclips.net/video/uTMk3sohkmY/видео.html Also, (and I'll let you know this just for completions sake) for some reason the PC version of Coast 2 Coast doesn't have any bloom effects, so it's missing a bit of extra graphical detail that the Xbox version has, even though technically the PC version is the best looking because you can play it in HD. Buuuut, if you play the OG Xbox version of Coast 2 Coast on a 360 it upscales it and makes it look almost as good as the PC version (from the point of view of anti-aliasing) anyway, but _with_ all the bloom effects. There were a couple of end of game animations in the arcade version of Outrun 2 SP that are missing in all of the home versions except the Japanese Playstation 2 version of Coast 2 Coast (which had it's name changed back to Outrun 2 SP). But the missing end of game animations are present in Outrun Online Arcade and it does have all the bloom effects present as well. Confused yet :) ?
one of my favourites ever, I love the Xbox and 360 versions of this but most impressive for the hardware its running on is PS2, ran in Progressive mode it looks stunning!
@Ioannis Stf I think I was at the time, although I cannot remember it now. I bought a new TV so I might give it another go now that you mentioned it (at least out of curiosity). Although I need to unpack the PS2 first in a few weeks... ta
+Abelardo Vidal Hey Abe, how's things? It's hard to pick a favourite. I think PS3 looks the best and it's also got the benefit of supporting force feedback for wheels, but it's missing all the OR2 tracks and a lot of extra content. The original Outrun 2 had the Scud Race and Daytona bonus tracks, but not the SP tracks and extra cars of Coast 2 Coast. The PC version has the edge graphically over the Xbox version (in terms of anti-aliasing), but the Xbox has superior joypad controls and I think some bloom effects that are missing from the PC version. However, thanks to the hack from Howard Casto over at the BYOAC forums to add the force feedback back into the game for steering wheels and some other improvements, I think the PC now has the edge, so I'm going to go for PC. What do you reckon Abe? Which is your favourite?
+MrThunderwing I think the version of (PS3 and Xbox Live) have graphical improvements of (Outrun 2 SP SDX / Outrun 2 SP DX) of SEGA LINDBERGH YELLOW HARDWARE. www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=731 The resolution on "Xbox" is the original, and "PC" is far superior. I think I prefer the version of "Pc"... Cheers....
The PC version is based on the Xbox port, and both have the sun in the wrong place in the sky; it's placed so far above the track that the sun is never on the screen, which is why there's no bloom in the PC/Xbox version.
Tempora158 Actually some bloom can be seen on Xbox but it's completely absent on pc most likely a porting problem. The repositioning of the sun is probably a design choice i've heard some people say that the sun light can get annoying at times on other versions.
The bloom effects file was accidentally put into the wrong folder in the install directory. All you need to do is move the file over to the correct folder.
@@abnormalmusic1477 It does indeed. You don't need a powerful PC for it either. If you want to go for what is arguably the best looking version of the game though, you should try out Outrun 2 SPDX in Teknoparrot. A bit of simple Googling should help you find the game and there's a tutorial on YT that explains how to set it up.
+Onya Mate Wait, even OutRun 2006? That works just fine on my modern PC. Something else is going on here. What problems are you having exactly? Do you have trouble just running the game, installing it, etc?
MrThunderwing Hey thanks for the reply and for contributing to the community mate. I've been admiring your work and enjoying the video series and forums your posting in. In regards to CannonBall - I've got the game running, but I'm struggling with inputs where I just can't get my G27 pedals to recognise. Steering is no issue, but I did read that people have had more success setting up through Logitech Gaming Software. I'm still yet to go back and try that. I'd love to have all the acrade racing games up and running - as is shown on Racer Mame - but I'm a scrub in setting most of it up with my biggest success so far running Daytona. Doesn't stop me having a dabble. Thanks again.
+Dash I've got to the stage where installed the game and updated drivers but kept getting a crash. I haven't had another go of installing since upgrading to Windows 10 - so I'll have to get back in and have a crack. Thanks for your reply though - much appreciated.
Hi, in your opinon which one of all version is the best of the best? I have almost all versions: xbox, ps2, psp, xbox 360 and ps3, right now I´m about to try pc version but I don´t know what version looks better. For example xbox and ps2 version is almost imposible to play in my 50 inches tv, they look too bad... The ps3 version is good but is not a complete game as 2006 C2C, because ps3 version is only SP game, and I really hate ps3 joystick, it tends to fail and is not "robust", it feels cheap. The xbox 360 version has a good joystick, but it is still as ps3 version only SP game. In all your experience trying and comparing side to side all versions, which is the best for you? Thanks!
Have a read of my reply to Masked Ninja, he asked pretty much the same thing. As an addendum though, If you've got an Xbox 360 the original Xbox version of Coast to Coast upcales to 720p very nicely and definitely feels better with a pad than Online Arcade does on my PS3 - I know what yoy mean about 5he robust feeling. Since I made this video though, someone figured out how to get the bloom effects working on the PC ruclips.net/video/KhiJlXzx804/видео.html so combined with Howard C's steering wheel and FFB mod, I think the PC version is now probably the best.
@@MrThunderwing Hi thank you, I tried pc version and I had a really hard hard time to configure my joystic, to the point I uninstalled the game and leave it alone forever, I think pc version have a lot of bugs in control settings, after I read your message I found a fix OR2FXT2.1, I installed that and finally I could get to work my no brand jostick, not al buttons are well mapped, but at least I could play, I don´t know but I think that fix works better on a xbox 360 joystick, unfotunelly I don´t have the adaptor needed to hook wireless xbox360 joysticks on pc. I did what is shown in your video, moving the lens flare archive, maybe my graphic card is so weak or something, because when it is supossed to show the lens flare effect I only get little flashings, it looks as if my monitor was goin to turn off. Some time ago I tried to play OR2 2006 C2C xbox version on xbox 360 (rgh), the game is detected but xbox360 is unable to run it, on the other hand my xbox 360 can run normal out run 2.
Another thing I could note is that "speed sensation" was less in my pc, I see your videos and all versions look equally fast, maybe it is the poor performance of my pc, but it is extrange because I could set a good resolution and solid 60 fps, but a rare sense of "slow" compared to other versions I played before.
