280 Gallon Amazing Reef Aquarium

- A story of perseverance...Four years ago customer who knew nothing about reef keeping walked into Vivid Aquariums to ask about an aquarium setup. He wanted to build it right the first time. Vivid Aquariums installed it & coached him through the process of starting the aquarium. He watched many of our videos. He came into the store often. He asked LOTS of questions. He had many bumps in the road & often joked with Dave about wanting to get rid of the aquarium when things weren't going well but...
He didn't give up! He kept learning and progressing as a hobbyist. Here is what he created. Vivid Aquariums is so proud of him!
You know your a valued customer when the place that you shop at makes a video just for you. So cool! I want to be jealous, but I'm too happy vivid uploaded.

Just awesome! I'd like to learn more about Gary's journey. I'm looking to start a tank. I think I have an idea of what kind of equipment to start with. The big question for me is coral selection and placement. Gary's done a wonderful job with that. I'd like to learn more about his thinking going into coral and fish selection.

Awesome tank guys, curious though...what's up with the Regal Tang?
The Regal Tang was one of the first fish in the tank but got Lateral Line Disease. Garry still loves him though and wants to keep him as long as he can.
Cool...hope he recovers...try soaking the Tang's food in SELCON.

It's a beautiful reef! What's going on with the sideways birds nest? Did it fall over? Does Gary have a youtube channel?
The Birdsnest Coral grew out that way because of the strong current across the front of the tank - pretty cool. Garry does not have a RUclips channel.
Brief: I am in the process of setting up 140 gallon extra tall seahorse reef tank outer size 48x24x30 inches 15mm glass With 48x24x30 inch cabinet stand. To house sump, chiller other things. Tank and cabinet will be made inhouse. Question: Sump tank size: l36xw20xh16 vs l30xw20xh18
No of chambers?
What should be the design?
And which products to incorporate in my project like lights, inline heater, UV, skimmer, filter media, overflow box etc.

Yeah. We tried an iPhone app for the voice over - I agree it doesn't sound that good.
Incredible tank for now I'll have to settle with my 20 gallon fresh water tank. If I had room for my other 20 gallon maybe some live rock and some very small clown fish.
