I have it every year on Saint Patrick’s day. My mom just boils potatoes and cabbage and the corn beef together and puts in the seasoning. It’s super easy
Thank you very much for this great recipe/tutorial. I think I’ll try doing it your way today. Thankfully my family and I really enjoy it. But I’ve pretty much done it on the stove top. I’ve been making this meal for approximately 50 years so it’s time for a change. Happy St.Patrick’s day😅 to you. 🍀🍀🍀🍀
@@BeefForDinner yes it certainly was. I only added 3 cups of water to begin with so it was rather dry and wasn’t as tender as the ones I’ve made with water covered it. But your way is definitely my way now. 💕
This looks delicious! I’m cooking a similar one this weekend but I only want to use a part of it. I can’t decide if I should cook the whole and freeze half for later, or cut it in half before cooking and freeze half uncooked to cook later. It wasn’t previously frozen so no trouble there.
Good call on making your own seasoning. I'm sure the producer included adequate spices but freshness is the most important part. Whole dish reminds me of my ma's recipe, County Cork representing. Cheers!
@@rodh597 thank you. When I watched the video a few times I saw him add 3 cups of water. I’ve never made it this way before so it feels kinda odd to not have the water covering it. Thanks for the suggestion of adding beer. My daughter can’t have any gluten and it’s rather hard to find gf beers. I do appreciate your response. I think I better go back and add more. 😉🍀
@@rodh597 thanks again for your response. I followed these instructions and while my corned beef was delicious it was a bit tough to me. I really will be using this method again only I will add a bit more water. 🍀
@@louettesommers8594 GF beers are often made with wheat to ferment. They are hard to find. If the roast is covered during the cooking process with snug fitting lid, the meat does not need to be submerged in liquid. It will braise nicely slow and low.
350° . I’m looking for approximately how long per Lb since I plan to cut mine through and freeze half to cook later. Maybe best to cook the whole then freeze half for later - can’t decide 🤷♀️
Braised meats like slow and low. In a covered pot, the oven set at 350 degrees will cook the meat slow and steady. I recommend using a standard oven without convection. Convection will bring the temperature up in the oven.
I've never had corn beef and cabbage yours looks amazing
Why thank you! (It was 😋)

If you haven’t tried it yet I’m pretty sure you will really like it. 🍀
This will be the way I’ll cook our St.Patrick’s dinner tomorrow. Thank you.🙏🏻☘️
How did it turn out ?
@@steelokey we ended up going to our neighbors for dinner so I froze our corn beef for another time.
@@coolabah-blue oh nice! I’m trying right now lol, late late meal 😂
Making this today- definitely like the idea of steaming versus boiling veggies. They finish with a better flavor that way. Thanks for the post
We hope it was great!
I always like corned beef well-done.
I Have never seen this technique with the vegetables and glaze before and I cannot wait to do this tomorow, Well done video and glad I came upon it !
We're glad you did, too. Hope it was delish!
I've cooked Cornbeef Brisket, cabbage and potatoes. Excellent. 🎉
Just made this today. I definitely like the taste of the veggies steamed versus boiled. Thanks for this recipe!!
Happy it could help!! And glad it was tasty 👌

Will a steamer basket work? You could put the basket on some bunched up foil to keep it above broth ?
Yes, the steamer basket will work for you.

I would cook whole and freeze the other half.
I would cook the entire roast. Once the meat is cooked it freezes great.
Do you deliver to California? 😊
We just deliver helpful videos 😉😁
the best way to cook corn beef is on a charcoal smoker.
Chef Boss 🫡 Why we don't rinse out beef before cooking ?
❤❤❤

Love that, nothing better than a good ol' family recipe 👌🍀
Does the water cover the corned beef?
Yes or at least 80% of the meat, a can of light beer with water also adds flavor

The meat does not need to be covered in water/stock to cook. The moisture in the pot and meat will cook the meat nicely.
