I visited Hrvatska roughly 5 years ago. Beautiful country and people. I wished I was born in such a blessed country! But I also could guess the dark times from the abandoned towns. Amazing to see how Hrvatska is full of blessing now

Zasmirko100, I agree. All three had and still do the same history. I was born in Budapest in 1955. I do underrstand what you went through Soviet dominance. I understand because I stayed in Hungary until 1965 when I came to Canada. I noticed the big difference between Sweden's influence and NAZI/Soviet domination. As of this moment, I'm worried about the present situation regarding Putin's mindset. Russia hasn't changed one bit. I'm glad all three joined EU and NATO. I wish you all three Peace. There were quite intelligent and realistic thinking figures among the Bolsheviks. After prolonged clashes between the young Lithuanian army and detachments of the Bolsheviks, it was decided to start negotiations.
12.07.1920 The Treaty of Peace between Lithuania and Russia was signed by Lenin, where agreed borders were established to take into account those eastern territories of Lithuania, which during the Tsar's rule were violently Russified by building new Orthodox churches and resettling the Orthodox population. Today it is much smaller than those days.

At the same time, 1920, Sly Bolsheviks were planning to overthrow Lithuania's government. Weapons were being smuggled to Kaunas, soldiers were instigated to rebel. Even the Soviet encyclopedia gives certain facts ; in the Communist style, of course.

Being in the same geographical area doesn't necessarily make nations brotherly.
The reason they are different countries, means they have more to divide than to share.

Yes, indeed. I as an Estonian feel much more 'brotherly' towards Finns, since both nations are Finnic and have the same roots. Our national awakening in 19th century was also more related to Finnish national awakening. Baltic tribes have historically been our enemies, an important thing that the narrator decided to left out of the video 😉

As a Lithuanian I feel more close to Belarusians ( to some extent, as currently the country is occupied and serves as a russian satelite) than Estonians. However- in more recent history- breaking out from USSR, kind of got us closer. I love my Baltic neighbours, I love my Lietuva

The last 200 years our history was the same, with little local differences - so we are not divided but united by our history.

Drama bonding is very unhealthy even for countries. As an Estonian I do not define myself as Baltic but rather as Finnic and Nordic.

The title could hardly be more incorrect. Estonia and Latvia share nearly the same history for 800 years. It's the ethnic origin what divides, not history.

Well, Northern Estonia has had quite a different history from Southern Estonia and Latvia. Lithuania has also had a pretty different history from Latvia, so the title is definitely accurate. Plus of course categorically different language, history and origin of Estonians as Finnic nation.
