- Another live version of acapella style "Is She Really Going Out With Him" by the then "The New Joe Jackson Band",
performed at the Regal Theatre, Hitchin, England, in 1983.
The fabulous Joe Jackson singing my favourite version of this wonderful song
Joe Jackson... one of the greatest musicians of the modern era! Real music, real voices, real instruments... REAL TALENT
I've been aware of him for years and years, but lately I've started to listen to him more critically and you're right: He's a great musician and composer.
Yes mate agree. Some fool at work told me Elvis Costello sang it she had to give me 50 bucks for losing the bet
I saw Joe Jackson in NYC many, many yrs ago. Seeing this now, makes my heart sing. He is a miracle, a Mozart. When I listen to "Real Men", I almost cry, but have a wide smile. His lyrics and piano are pure artistry and YOU JOE have added to the quality of my life.
Sadly that was me in High School . I had a full head of hair , thought I looked real cool, & couldn’t wait until the weekend parties. Wouldn’t you know it. The girl I never could get enough courage to ask out was at every party I attended. Damn Gorilla stole her around the time I was getting up the nerve to ask her out. Still hate them Gorilla types today so it seems !!! This song rings true to my heart & makes me wonder. What If I ???
I love this version of this...I used to have it on cassette!
I love the variations JJ does with this song, but this one is my favorite.
I was there -amazing to see this after so many years !
Brilliant ❤
Saw them on this tour!
Thanks for sharing this good old song. Appreciated.
BEEN in love with this version for years,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Yes, me too!
Wow. Just stumbled upon this. I almost clicked on another version of the song, but then the chorus kicked in and wow, what a fantastic sound!
Beautiful classy voice and sir. Once I had a music room full of CD's, with instruments, and with a mixing table. But after a divorce I had to give up everything.... Do I miss it? Yes for the music and the fun. And no I don't miss it because I am happier now, than when I was married.
My wife and I saw him from the 2nd in Pittsburgh a few months back and we both agreed we never realized how tall Joe is....
Yeah, he's about 6'3". Amazing musician at any height.
this is still amazing
You can almost hear the audience, via their silence, wondering "what the hell is this?" before he kicks in with the lyrics! Fantastic!
I really miss those days of seeing Joe perform the old stuff. Great music. thank you for sharing
he is back at to again, as of 2022
Amazing!!! Still, and will be.
helemaal te gek
helemaal te gek.
Excellent version of the a Capella - very nice melodic
heard them doing this version Calgary 83 and it stuck in my head and never left ...
AWESOME!!!!!!
This video has everything that today's music doesn't have, chief among them is sweatpants. We need more sweatpants in rock today! Wonderful version of a classic.
Beautiful, powerful performance
So cool 😎, so groovy
Love the acapella version of this song!
Joe Jackson is a modern Master.
Early Happy Birthday!! JoeJackson - 'Look over There - Where?' Focused on Vocals & Clapping. Joyous & Energised! Ty 4 sharing!!
The very best thank you for your music.
Seeing this meant I could get a good look at a local venue I never knew. Thin Lizzy played there too
My favourite version of my favourite Joe Jackson song.
A little piece of magic right there
This version popped in my head outta nowhere. Thanks for posting it 💖
Great vocal arrangements back to basics ❤
Thanks for posting, just a great song and a great singer
This was broadcast on radio at the time (Radio1?) and I recorded the entire set on cassette. Brilliant to hear it back again! (next track on the set was "stepping out" if I remember well)
So did I! Yes, it was part of BBC’s ‘Sight & Sound In Concert’ series, a ‘simulcast’ on Radio 1 (in stereo) and on BBC2 (in mono). The other one I recorded in the series was Thin Lizzy (which was recently rebroadcast on Sky Arts).
I use to have an album with three versions of the song including this one.
I have that album
What's it called? I want it.
I have it too. It’s called Live 1908/86. A double album.
@@nitedreamer23 Its called Live 1980-86. Its a double album
Scott A I had cassette tape of this very performance I taped off a local radio station--back when stations used to do crazy things like play live concerts and album sides.
Would have loved to have been there in person.
Best a capella song ever!!! :)
Awesome take on the original, this band was tight!
Wow❤
amazing
Wow wow wow!!!!!!!!! My Man JJ.
always a favorite. ... never realized that Joe was that tall
Maybe he only hires short backup singers.
He's 6'4".
especially the tambourine player was execllent.. nobody gives himany respect.. I do!
Perfect!
Still good to this day, and being played on Dutch radio.
PORTO / Portugal - 1980. Uma grande cabeçada num grande concerto de música!... Ninguém se aleijou.
Still love this version
Geweldig.
So Good!!!!!

I wash hair and I kid myself...

What a great song😅😅
Great stuff
Y pude ver al Señor Joe Jackson cuando vino al Teatro Metropolitan de la ciudad de Mexico. Un artista completo y tambien pude grabar un cassette en vivo que pasaron en la estacion de radio WFM. Un deleite oirlo
Freakin AWESOME
JJ - the poet!! :)
JJ - the poet!!
Genius.
C'mon! 1000 thumbs up! We're near it! Or is it that Joe is a Dinosaur already?
prachtigggggg versie ♥
Real live talent
great version different
Amazing what you can do with just a tambourine
Hitchin town posse!!!!
I've liked joe since the 1st time i saw him on mtv @1983. he was different. he sang about life's trials. I've heard them all from the late 50s' till about 10 years ago. Somehow somewhere along the way music gave us a cold shaft; nothing but trash these days. There are a few good bands but that's about all. I can come to utube and hear them all. Utube is ok. All the records & few commercials. I hear long ago regional hits & a lot are good.
hummmm j'adore
2021!!!
I was there.
Look over there where and the dude at the concert said where ,in a Sydney concert it was cool
I saw him at Bristol Locarno probably the same year, he sang acapella then - but forgot the lyrics and ended up going dum de dum de dum...brilliant set though.
wowses
I had the cassette.
Love this
🍀🔺️🍀🙏🍀🔻🍀
Don’t say “carried a banana in my pocket “ please…. Tried that & it made my hang down look even bigger than it already was…..
Talking heats
Ik wist helemaal niet dat een a capella nummer was
Yeah !!! GIN(): )
I also heard several times on the radio a accoustic version with a harmonica or something. Does anywone know if it is uploaded somewhere? Can't find it.
I have the feeling this is the one you are looking for
The best?!
And if my eyes don't deceive me..
I didn't realise he's 6'4" until I saw this clip
Is he American?
His voice seemed a bit ragged, and that look he gives at around 1:45 says it all!
Exactly. He can NOT sing.
@@Flippie123
And what a fantastic career he had “not singing”....
@@Flippie123he had great range
Very good but better version is on his triple CD....
And yet they still compare him to Elvis Costello. Some people just can't get their due....
ja>3
He’s good 👍 not sure about the backing !!!
Glee
1983
Very.... Um... different
sounds great but he is singing weird :P
Joe kinda looks like Elon musk
Such a great song, such a ugly head! lol
Very high in my top 10 of most irritating songs of all times… together with 4 Non Blondes 🤮
This is so terribly bad... I rather listen to one hour of cats in heat.
I think you should write shit comments like this. Nothing like a good rejoinder huh?
Late at night with your ear against your parents bedroom door I assume!!!!!
You are so right. The guy can NOT sing.
Terrible voice.
And I'll bet you do...
