Hey, author here! Thank you for another amazing video on one of my works. I loved your coverage of 7999, and I’m beyond flattered to have another work of mine covered here. Seriously, thank you!
This one was such a lovely story when I read it, so it's nice to have it in audio form now! I left a comment on the original, but I'll say this here: you're incredible at writing these stories. Both this and 7999 are so moving and have top notch character writing.
45:44 "...as merely a reminder to keep the shrine intact." I feel violated. I feel like I have been inflicted with a great injustice served in a cold clinical dispassionate tone. I really enjoyed this SCP narrative.
i think thats the point though, that the scp foundation will just reset everything and all of this will be mostly forgotten, the foundation not really caring about these people who in most senses are heros, because they saved the world from being forever frozen
37:42 if the phrase "the baby reaches out" means the "infant" is animate and conscious and the phrase "eaten both 30 years and just an hour ago" (14:52) mean that time (at least to "Kid") has relatively ceased for roughly "30 years", then perhaps that means the "infant"/individual has been conscious within the body of a "baby" for about "30 years" (however there might be a notable potential discrepancy between any confidence behind "30 years" and "...I haven't felt in god knows how long..." at 5:49). Regardless of the accuracy of such considerations within this narrative, to me it's interesting to ponder potential effects of being trapped (perhaps) in the body of a baby for "30 years" and during that 'time' and after the world returned back to normal.
@@thequietintrovert8605 agreed. It's probably really interesting to consider. That there's almost a parallel time stream happening. I'd imagine that fortunately for the kid they wouldn't remember much anyways since it's probably before kids really have the ability to form memories? But then again, it might be like a dog or something living for that long, ive heard dogs have a mind of like a 3 year old human or something (not an infant but related)
No wonder that ending got to people, this is PMD Explorers of Sky. The world frozen in time. The collapsed temple of a time god that caused the catastrophe. The fugitive protagonist (Kidd/Grovyle) trying to restore time by taking a McGuffin to the time temple. The supporting character (Saul/Dusknoir) who opposes the restoration of time out of self preservation but is convinced otherwise by protagonist after traveling with them. The fact that restoring time will probably kill both characters. The ending in the morning sun. I could practically hear the songs as certain events played out. I love how this delves further into why someone might fight against restoring time, and how it simplified the "restoring time will kill you" plot point away from time paradox stuff. I'm absolutely delighted that one of my favorite game stories of all time has been enshrined as an 001 proposal.
*And the emperor asked, “How many seconds of time are there in eternity?”* *”How many seconds in eternity?” Says the Shepard Boy, who thought for a moment.* *Then said the shepherd boy, “In Lower Pomerania, there is a mountain made of pure diamond, which is two miles high, two hundred miles wide, and two thousand miles deep. And every hundred years, a little bird comes and sharpens its beak on it; and when the entire mountain is chiseled away into nothing by this bird, only then will the first second of eternity have passed.”* You must think that’s a helluva long time. And yeah, it is. Me personally? I think that's a helluva bird.
That's a variation of a similitude used by Buddhists to describe an eon: "Suppose there were a great mountain of rock-a league long, a league wide, a league high, uncracked, uncavitied, a single mass-and a man would come along once every hundred years and rub it once with a Kashi cloth. More quickly would that great mountain of rock waste away and be consumed by that effort, but not the eon [kalpa]. That's how long, monk, an eon is."
Just hope you don't become a tad nihilistic after so much time manipulations, what with folks like Homura Akemi and Rintaro Okabe. Then again, there's a chance one could move on from such a state, as Phil Connors and William Cage can attest.
that line about some people onlu pretending to have morals until the conditions are met for them yo cast those morals aside makes me think of that art exhibit where a woman didnt move for like 4 hours and people could do whatever they wanted to her. mind you this is an art gallery; people started undressing and groping her, and then others went so far as to take knives and start cutting her just for the sick twisted pleasure of seeing another human weep in pain. i dont think those kinds of people deserve mercy or empathy when they dont ever consider extending those sentiments to other people, and instead just want to see others hurt.
I have been listeninng to every scps from your channel only the narration and ambience is out of the world . Much appriciated . I wish i Could listen to all these scps all day . Thank you for giving us the masterpices
should have been a second file at the end saying it had happened and in which containment procedures should be obvious foundation needs to form cults to various time gods and build and maintain similar shrines across the world to prevent it happening again
24:38 As someone with Fibromyalgia, pain is a part of life. Most of the time you don't "deserve" it, but it's yours to feel. To live you have to feel. If they keep time from moving onward, they're not saving anyone from anything. Those people aren't really living. They can't grow, or change, or heal. They can't feel the bad things, but they also can't feel the good. I neither need nor want to be "saved" from my pain, and if this phenomenon were real I'd be extremely incensed that anyone thought they had a right to take away my ability to live just to keep me from being in pain.
True. It hurts. It hurts to be hurt or do the hurting. It sucks when someone steals, lies or cheats you, especially when you're younger, it's so hard, but so is life, such is life. If you can withstand all of the shit that life throws your way, you'll be ok... mostly.
I honestly love when we get the se more heartfelt and relaxed stories to keep such a large fictional universal life for so long It really can't just be sadness and death and gore all the time there has to be hope and silliness and other things that make surviving in that universe worth it Despite being similar in theory I think this is why the back rooms ultimately failed as a concept because it was just filled with so much death and evil and destruction that there was not really any incentive for someone trapped here to try and keep going so to speak but in the SCP universe there's still something worth fighting for so to speak
This is funny. I just been thinking, man, I haven't checked out in SCP content in months, I should check out Exploring Series. And soon as I searched you up you posted a video 18 minutes ago!
Not a biblical stuties guy, but from what I got from the narrative and the names this story seems to be based or at least inspired by the conversion of Paul the Apostle ( also known as Saul ) on the road to Damascus: a messiah who chooses to suffer for other starts is persecuted by a non believer that along the way changes how the see the world
Oh man this hit me right in the gut when Saul explained why he joined the Keepers. My ADHD and Anxiety give me constant stress and dread about What Comes Next. I get paralyzed with fear over trying to even begin to make plans for the future. I fear i would be much like Saul, secretly happy that time no longer passed and i had eternity fo do what i want.
I believe a frozen time concept was touched upon in an old Twilight Zone. But it ended up having a particular explanation and associated contributing factors.
Nice article! Time stop story always for major key points though; everyone would be blind as light wave would also stops, no one would be able to move and suffocate as air molecules would also be fixed in place and all that fun stuff! Would make for a boring story I admit...

Utterly amazing piece here man, great job!
Just got through TES' read on the article, hot dang man I gotta go read it myself. End made me tear up a lil, very nice.
I nearly cried at the end tbh, i dont normally get affected by stories but this one got to me lol, great job :]
I love how often shoving is used in this. It's so smart. It's now the only way to annoy someone other that just arguing

Classic foundation
The foundation is uncaring. It’s an organization. It can’t care. It’s the people in the foundation who do the caring for it

Thanks, Doctor! ❤
(Also, fascinatingly enough, that episode is literally about grief, and getting/healing through it.)
Heaven sent❤️
it's been an eternity since you last touched an SCP-001 proposal
To some, it may have been ephemeral.
Ahhh i see what you did there
How did you comment a day ago? 😅 Was this premiered?
Nice comment
This is why Foundation couldn't contain it 😅
Oh boi 00:00 in the morning for a SCP
This is what we touch eternity 😅
3:50 AM for me lol
00:00 for me too lol
Fuck me, that ending was emotional.
Oh wow an Apollyon scp. The only other one off the top of my head is the sun one so excited for this one
There's dozens on the wiki. Just gotta look for em.
8:09 scp universe is one where when someone says you should ask nicely its always possible that it isnt a request but a requirement
26:05 - Kids chasing seagulls? Let me guess: AND THEY RAAAAAAN! THEY RAN SO FAR AWAAAAAAY!

Ya. She's illuminati
Is this an SCP or a real thing? Fucking insane if it is real?
@@derpstick5467it was a real experiment, once she started moving again everybody ran off
Disgusting.

It feels very appropriate to have the timestamps on all these comments vary from days before it’s published until Feb 13th 2025.
there's one guy who said "messing with time is fun" 2 days ago, its golden haha
When Feb 13 comes: “… huh. Why do I feel like a lot has happened even tho only a minute has passed by?”
I honestly found this very beautiful and one of my favorite videos of yours. Two friends bearing the world for tomorrow's generation.
An absolutely beautiful somber story that really shows the tenacity of ones determination.
I’m touching eternity (myself) too
Thanks, this one was truly beautiful and masterfully narrated 👍
This reminds me of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorer’s of Time
Quite a surprisingly good game, that.
Heya, author here! That’s intentional, PMD was one of my inspirations!
Bro I just got a time gear tattoo over my heart too lol
i hope I don't cry at the end like in that game. Man how much I cried
i missed you The Exploring Series, you get me through work!
If you can't even move leaves, does that mean grass is basically spikes now?

foundation needs to form cults to various time gods and build and maintain similar shrines across the world to prevent it happening again
This scp is fantastic. I absolutely loved it. Thanks for doing this one 🙏😄
you devious man i was about to sleep…. oh well. here we go
Just two bros, holding each other at sunrise, dying in each other's arms after saving the world. Just two guys. A couple of dudes.
“roommates” if one would be so inclined
these bitches gay! good for them... good for them
And this is a refreshing touch.
"Chill out and take a moment", a lovely sentiment to end on. Thank you for the video.
That was beautifully written and narrated! Thank you, brother.😊👍
Jeez that got me right in the feels at the end.
the activation of the heart really showcased a godly power on display
You know for some reason I always imagine Saul as Sol Badguy (the sword) and Kid as Ky Kiske (eye wound)
He posts these at 3 in the morning because he knows I need a vid to dedicate the next hour to
This is an incredibly beautiful SCP, thank you for sharing it with us.
