In my 50's I remember straddling a ladder to paint my high vaulted wall up to the ceilings, now I'm in my mid 70's and need to repaint a 15 year old accent red wall back to white...No, I'm not going to take a chance with a tall ladder at my age. I will do exactly what you have demonstrated with the extension pole and the "Paint Pad". GREAT VIDEO! Your wall turned out fabulous 🤩👍👏
Well done, I was in two minds about painting the exterior of my house myself as I have gotten crazy quotes from professionals. This video has made my decision for me, I can do it !
Thank you very much for this video. I'm facing a job in similar circumstances and I was losing hope that it wouldn't be possible by myself. You gave me hope that, even if it's more difficult, it's still possible!!! Lots of love and hope you're doing well🤗
Thank you so much for this video. I've been on the phone with Home Depot several times discussing the purchase and/or rental of scaffolding as my daughter is wanting to paint the walls of a skylight in her kitchen (~17' high) Recently we stained the wood trim around the skylight and she got on top of those very high A frame ladders and it was scary and exhausting. I stood on a smaller ladder and looked after putting more stain on the foam brush (i stained part of the window trim so i know first hand how high you have to get on the ladder). I've been really worried what to do to keep her safe. She asked me last night if we can now roller paint the walls and then as I'm lying awake at 5:30 am I find myself desperately looking at scaffolding again, and along comes your video. I can't thank you enough for taking the time to post this!
I give you a lot of credit. You are patient and very resourceful. I will be painting our walls also- also approximately 20 feet at its highest point. Thank you for the inspiration!!
Subscribed to your channel, you are so inspirational and provide me with lots of motivation to complete at least ONE of the DIY projects I've started and have yet to finish. Thank you!
Wow, this was exactly what I was looking for, thank you! You did an amazing job 👏 How did you paint the edge of the windows without getting paint on the glass?
OH MY GOODNESS!!! 😳😨😨😨😨 Kwen! Please, PLEASE don't take risks like that on your ladder - despite the facts that you possess amazing strength, balance and poise! 😘
1:42 ⚠ *That's exactly how NOT to use a ladder* ⚠ Nope, no no. Don't step on the top like that especially since no one is spotting you to prevent that ladder from wobbling or tipping. Sure it's tempting to stand on the top like that, but hey that warning on the ladder that says not to stand on the top of it is not joking. 😂Of course I've done that too. I just found a bunch of OSHA safety videos that convinced me not to do that again. Ha, I'm just DIY painting like you are here. *Really impressive how you painted that edge way way way way up high* 🏆🏆🏆
Well done Kwen! Great job! (I reckon you would have been fine on the 20 ft ladders by the looks of how confident you are with heights and access platforms but I totally get your family’s concerns). Ideally, you’d do work at this height from scaffolding anyway. A cherry picker might also be another option….? Anyway, you’ve done an awesome job. I actually came across your video because I was looking at paint edgers in order to paint high up areas on stairwells.
Hi Helen, thanks so much for the lovely note and useful suggestions! You are right, I really do well with the height, and I will consider to get a 20-22ft ladder as you suggested!🌷♥️
@@kwenm4615 Lol! Nooo! I was joking. Don’t get the 20 ft - 22 ft ladder! Super dangerous. I agree with your family on this one, even though you are really confident with heights. Not worth the risk and they love you too much. Have a great day. X
I used to paint 10 ft higher honey comb/ wasp comb at entrance of my house. This pole- purchased ( 20 ft long) from home depot. Wrapped sponge at top of pole by electrical tape. Sprayed anti wasp ( 14 $ at Home Depot ) on songe. (Then worn gloves, prayed for honey bee and wasp and Sprayed powerful water jet by garden hose 1 day ahead to go from here.) Next day the anti wasp spray by spong at tip of this pole is applied. So they don't make come there again other wise they do make at same place. Saved 100$ each time. ( again happen at 25 ft higher under roof. So used same 20 ft extended telescopic pole on 6 ft ladder. Good to go) Pole cost me 50$ at home depot)
Great job, how much money do you think you saved? I have almost identical ceilings. Only mine are a dingy white and they need to be a brighter white painting wood is a pain the $%#* 🤦🏻♀️
Hi Connie, I did check with a contractor before, the price he gave me was 1200+. He said because my walls were higher than 17ft, he needed to use scaffolding.
Mr. LongArm - get one! It's really useful. I found one in my garage not knowing I even had it. Can change some light bulbs that are about 20 feet up (ceiling) and it even lets you attach a saw blade for high tree limbs if you need to cut a few. Mostly it's fantastic for painting high walls.

A woman on a mission who got the job done, safety first I agree, looks amazing. 🤓👏👏👏👏
Thank you my love! ♥️😘🌷

I fell on my roof but not off it and sprain my knee and now I’m careful ! Be careful ! Your parents are right ! Pretty house. I love those rafters
Oh Cheryl, I’m so sorry about your injury! 🌷Thank you for the warning, I will be very careful from now on.💕♥️
Great job! I would suggest you get an 18" roller. Your walls are huge, and it would help speed up the process.

Very hard working woman, very well made video, voice is very soothing. 😊👍✌️
This gives me hope; I was worried we wouldn’t be able to do it ourselves, but this is very nice to see
Thank you! Now I’m inspired to do it myself
Beautiful job, your patience paid off - it looks so clean and pretty in the white.
Thank you Laura!🥰🌷
I am doing a similar job and i am learning how much patience it takes.... great job
Subscribed to your channel, you are so inspirational and provide me with lots of motivation to complete at least ONE of the DIY projects I've started and have yet to finish. Thank you!
Nicely done Kwen! This is very helpful as I didn’t know about the edging tools you used. Thank you!
Great idea
Love the video and your dialouge in the video
Thank you so much for the nice compliment! 🌷🥰
Wow, this was exactly what I was looking for, thank you! You did an amazing job 👏
How did you paint the edge of the windows without getting paint on the glass?
Beautiful
Hire someone to paint it is expensive for the high wall, great job done!
Thank you! Yeh I agree😄
Well done!
Good job!!
Thank you Kwen!
🌷💕
Great video, thanks.
How did you paint inside the window sill?
Where did you find this long pole?
Where did you get your extension rod?
Me encantan tus proyectos, tu casa es hermosa me animas a arreglar la mía con tus ideas.

That was very dangerous.
May I ask how many days it took to paint the room. Thank you 👍
It took me two days for this big living room, if the room is smaller, it should be just a one day job😊🌷

Great job!! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you!
Amazing work! Wha white paint did you use on the wall?
Thank you!🌷The paint I bought from Lowe’s, it’s Valspar brand and color was “Du Jour”.

The way she usually uses ladders seems legit lol

@@kwenm4615 Wow 😮 that’s awesome I bet you feel good you saved so much. Great job. ❤️
18 feet Platform ladder is the best solution
What extended pole did you use
What extension pole is this
I bought it either from Lowe’s or Home Depot😁

Why was it "surprising" (at 3:00) that Home depot had a large selection of painting tools?
👍🇧🇷
Standing on the top of a ladder like that without a proper platform, is bloody stupid!!!
I bet your shoulders and biceps were on fire
