I SOOOO wish Adam Lambert could judge every week. He was witty and brought a refreshing and much needed honesty to the panel. Plus, he's drop dead gorgeous! Let's face it, he was the best this show has ever seen and ever will see, as his reenactment of his audition proved.
I think they should have a judging panel with people like... Adam Lambert, Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, etc... people that have been through it before.
Could not agree more with everything said during this episode. I had such disrespect ofr Keith and Harry when they were talking over and leaving during the auditions. They are paid a high salary to sit there and listen and give feedback, and they didn't even bother listening. And Harry seriously needs to turn down the volume. I really like his pointed feedbacks, but he's gotta know he's not supposed to be the centre of attention here, the people auditioning are. I know Adam Lambert is incredibly busy, and has many other commitments, but could we at least then just get a clone or a hologram of him as a judge/mentor, cause he was all kinds of awesome!
Melinda not only sings beautifully, but has a lovely speaking voice as well - oddly, don't always go together. (Really like these two together - and that segment about tearing up a golden ticket was really funny.) Like how Adam concentrated on the contestants - good man.
Adam was the perfect judge, he paid attention and cared about what was going on in the room. He gave great advice, criticism & approvals. I'm glad Shi is out, she's not ready for prime time. Several people from NY shock me that they didn't even make TV voting...thanks judges ;(( I think you got it WRONG.
I finally got to watch this. I just want to say that I mostly agreed with what you guys were saying... BUT Michael, you are wrong about Blake Shelton keeping his mouth shut when people are singing... I've often wanted him to shut up because he gets LOUD when other judges push their buttons & turn their chairs after he has (because he doesn't want them stealing the contestant) but he does it all the time and it annoys the crap out of me. He also does it during the rest of the show sometimes. I love how Adam Lambert always pays 100% attention on whoever is singing, performing, or talking. The other judges are sometimes rude about that, as pointed out. Loved Adam as a judge! He's pretty great at everything, actually. lol
Ok. I too fell in love with Adam Lambert as a guest judge, but remember when we all fell in love with Harry Connick Jr. when he was only a guest judge? And then once he officially became a full time judge last season we all started to fall out of love with him?
My number 1 was Hollywood Anderson. Hands down...awesome! My number 2 was Jax. She reminds me of Nora Jones in a way. Thursday night's show was waaaayyyy better than Wednesday's. I was highly impressed Thursday! I thought it was so rude of Harry and Keith to get up and walk out while Big Ron was singing. I get that he only cared about JLo and was simply focused on her, but if they felt that way, they should've simply just said to him to engage everyone like Michael said.
I've seen this a lot in the comments, but honestly, I prefer watching Reality Check over watching the reality shows. Are there actually people who find that schtick with Keith and Harry to be at all amusing? All it comes off as is freaking rude, and I'm just cringing the entire time. It kind of brings back what Michael and Melinda talked about in the last episode of Reality Check 2014, in that Idol is supposed to be about the contestants, and not about the antics of the judges. Unfortunately, we've picked up right where last season left off with Idol's producer's attempting to mimic that aspect of the Voice, and it's making the show painful to watch.
Thank you for your cut to Blake Shelton (even if it was a clip of him saying he knows 16 year old girls), because he cares for his contestants, and all the contestants on his show like no judge/mentor on any other show. Also, I'm thinking (desperately hoping) that Adam's stint as a guest judge might be a precursor of him as a future judge.
Additionally, I feel as though Harry is too comfortable on the panel & thinks everyone likes him (which is not the case at all) and they should replace him with Adam immediately.
Almost everything we hear and see on TV, whether talk shows or reality shows, is scripted just like movies. But I believe you Michael Slezak and Melinda Doolittle. (Sorry, I wrote Melissa in my first post. I was thinking of my friend in New York)
Why realize some scenes are fake, but not the other ones? Guy not knowing who J-Lo is, that was staged for sure. I doubt the Big Sexy scene wasn't somehow agreed upon prior to the audition.
Every year it's the same shit with Melinda. She loves every black male contestant that walks through the door. Love her, but she is clearly biased with her opinion.

I loved Najah. She gave me the chills. Travis & Najah were my favorites. Overall it was a great night with so much talent.
Can´t believe I´m saying this but I agree with Slezak over Melinda. Jax was the best audition and I would rank Travis around 4-5 also. >.

I'm so glad I found your channel. It's so enjoyable and funny! I wish Melissa can sing for us sometimes.
I love Melinda so freaking much. Thank you Internet gods for bringing her to me.
Thank you for bringing up the TWEE thing. And for what it's worth, Melinda was the best singer on Idol, ever.
c'mon you guys HAVE to know who the top 24 are already!

Oh and can you explain the Twee thing to me please? I didn't get that.
Oh ok thank you for replying.
