Thank you so much for this video! My daughter is in her last year of GCSE’s and this has been so insightful about what to expect from both the course and college life.
I can't believe I have watched this whole video which was really helpful and gave me some good advice for when I do plan to do the level 3 Health and Social care💕
I am also going into second year and have no regrets with this course! Excited for 2nd year as I prefer the topics, but know the work load is heavier xx
This video is so helpful for our family. My son is just finishing Level 2 Health & Social Care and is going to 6th form to do Level 3 Health & Social Care which his school has said it's worth 2 A levels. He struggles with exams but works really hard and is good with coursework. This video is so helpful. Thanks a million times.
This diploma has done so much for me. I struggled so much in high school and worked my way up from level one to level 3 year 2, came out with 9's and am going to university next month to study a foundation health and social care degree. If you put as much into this course as you can, you will get lots out of it ❤ After my foundation degree I can go do a full bachelors in enhanced health care practice. You can do anything you put your mind to and there is always a way!!

Thank you for this video, it has really helped. I’m a mature student with 4 children, I was looking at doing the access course into health professionals but from what I’ve heard it’s very intense plus I’d have to get a student loan for it. I have recently stumbled across health and social care and your video has really helped me decide that I think health and social care would be more suited to me as it’s more of a steady pace and it appeals to me more. I know it’s a 2 year course but I’d rather take more time and do well than rush and fail. Thank you for your video. x

As someone who is worried that it wouldn't be leading to more medical jobs I want to thank you for this. Pure exams puts me off Sixthform and I think I will really like all of the units on the course. I have applied to a Sixthform college so it might be a little different than a college.
I know it will still be difficult but I'm really looking forward to mostly the course work as I struggle so much with exams even though I work really hard.

Jessica-Jayne Blogs it’s okay! Well when you picked your level 3 extended diploma we’re you offered to take another subject or course? Or were you only allowed to do that course?
i'm starting a level 2 course in health and social as i failed my math, oops. But i'm worried i'm going to feel demotivated because all together it'd be 3 years including the progression onto the level 3 before I could go into a work setting argh
don’t feel that way! slow and steady wins the race, even if it takes 10 years, you will make it! 3 years go by fast take it from someone who’s been there💓
Yeah the years go by so fast so don’t worry! You will get there. In your second year of level 3 you will get to do work experience within the settings you want
Lily Pinnock I think so but you do have to carry on and retake them! Speak to your six form/ college and they will advise you but as far as I know you can :)
Lily Pinnock They do things like patient care, what each job role does and legislations so it includes what every one in health and social care needs to know and then they separate into heath or social and you learn more subjects that are centred around that in the second year.
I just transferred from electronics to this course because i thought electronics was way too hard and it just wasn’t for me. I gotta do a lot of catching up though
@@helena-boateng yes i have heard of that. But in these two months the course has really inspired me to be a nurse ☺️. I hope to study adult nursing at uni now 😃

I also have law but my brother want to be a lawyer and he doesn’t want me to do it :( Im so stuck
Official_Bismah Yeah this does sound tricky! Best thing to do is to talk to some teachers in college about the best path to allow you to do what you want to do and explore other avenues because you might find something else you really like! Don’t close yourself off. Also if you want to be a lawyer then do that! It’s your life. But talk to your brother about it so you can come to a reasonable agreement! X

Just Sxli Hiya, so there are a couple that you will be given! You will get a revision guide and I got given the Pearson BTEC National Health and Social Care Student Book 1 and I am not too sure which book you get given in Year 2 but I think it is just the Second Student Book! Xx
Please help if I join this course from September, I study for 2 years and finish it. But I want to be a doctor or a dentist in the future. What do I need to do so that after this 2-year course I can enter the university and become a doctor? I know that I won't study A-level chemistry on this course, but I need chemistry to enter university. Does that mean I need to study longer (7 years) and pay more for the university?
i’m taking this course in september in sixth form i hope i like it, this video was really helpful. do you have any stationary recommendations for this course ?
Hey! Good luck and I have two videos called Pack my Pencil case and Pack my bag for college, it’s to do with this course and in general! Hope this helps 🤍
Ffg Ffg the Level 3 part is equivalent to 1 and 1/2 a levels. The extended diploma part makes it equal to 3 A-levels at the end of the two years. I think you can! I heard you can become a dentist assistant from it, but the best thing to do is check with your college!
just do level 3 level 2 is basic and if your interested in health and social care you probably know most of level two but if you feel really unsure go for level 2
I normally do between 8,000 - 12,000 on reports and essays but if you do presentations then that is completely different. Also I tend to write a lot so you can write less than that!!
What level shall i choose if i wanna do nursing or midwifery?? (I applied for level 1 nd a dont know if i can go for nursing or midwifery) can i have some help please ! Am lost😭
I would suggest doing level 3 health and social care After getting the qualification you can do a degree apprenticeship which will get you in midwifery Or doing level 3 apprenticeship in midwifery (if you have work experience) This link explains it : www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/explore-roles/midwifery/roles-midwifery/midwife/entry-requirements-and-training-midwifery Hope this helps

Khadija Yedder If you are aged 16-19 you need GCSEs or level 2 (BTEC) health and social to continue level 3 health and social care Grade requirements for GCSEs would usually be 4 for English language and maths - ask your college If you are 19+ I’m guessing you pay so it’s doesn’t matter if you don’t have the grades or not ( I’m not entirely sure) You cant become a midwife after completing level 3 You need to do a degree apprenticeship to become one which is basically working ( getting paid ) and studying Or you can get into university if you don’t want to do an apprenticeship
Diāna B it depends on the college! But for mine yes, we get set a time period where we have to complete 100 hours of work but your college should help you set all of that up.
@@humayajavid8426 i like them all. sociology and psychology have a lot of content but if you keep on top of it you'll do well. All these subjects link so nicely but im not sure what i want to get into there arent many options

don’t feel that way! slow and steady wins the race, even if it takes 10 years, you will make it! 3 years go by fast take it from someone who’s been there💓
noone thank you🥺✊🏼!
Yeah the years go by so fast so don’t worry! You will get there. In your second year of level 3 you will get to do work experience within the settings you want
Jessica-Jayne Blogs ah thank you v much! i’ll keep that in mind 🥺💛
I failed my maths too😭 are you taking another subject along with health and social care xx
do you/can you make friends with people outside of your course?
Yes most of my current friends do not do my course!
How do u make friends outside the course
M _H adventurers well I had a friend within the course that introduced me to a group that are now my friend group. But there are other ways
Jessica-Jayne Blogs hopes that happens for me too
If you failed maths or English can you still go straight into level 3, please help x
Lily Pinnock I think so but you do have to carry on and retake them! Speak to your six form/ college and they will advise you but as far as I know you can :)
Jessica-Jayne Blogs thank you so much, your a great help x
Lily Pinnock No problem, I’m always happy to help
Jessica-Jayne Blogs how do they teach so many different Categories in one course, like midwife, social worker, doctor
Hope this all went okay for you!
thank you jess this was needed
Np! 💕
tysm for this, i just wanted to ask how many days a week do you go to college to study this course?
anisa for the first year I was on 3 days but everyone’s is different some other classes were on 4 day’s it just depends!
Jessica-Jayne Blogs how long were lessons for you? tysm x
I’m on the CACHE specification so ours is graded D to A*
Olivia A oh that’s cool! 😊
i hope this course helps me in my choice of either becoming a social worker or a nurse 😔. i wanna be both
Well good luck in choosing 😊
@@jessica-jayneblogs4509 thank you 😊
you could be a clinical social worker🤗 that’s what i’m also interested in becoming!
@@helena-boateng yes i have heard of that. But in these two months the course has really inspired me to be a nurse ☺️. I hope to study adult nursing at uni now 😃
The think is I want to be a pharmacist but I havent done biology or any science just social science so I want to pick health and social care but Im really stressed Because Idk if Id be able to because I havent got a science in it.I changed my idea to doing clinical psychology but ai dont wan to study after collage for 9 years .....
Jessica-Jayne Blogs your right,Just having a hard time need to make my personal statement too but thankyou for replying❤️
Official_Bismah Np!!
Hi Jessica! I'm just about to finish NVQ level 3 in social care . My question is are you able to get into univesity with NVQ L3?
Hello! I’ve done some searching and it seems that you can! But I would check with your teacher about this just to make sure! 💓
who doesnt love UNIT 5 TASK 3 with the 1800 ad theories vague as
Got to love the theories! ahah x
I paid for health and social level 3 on learn direct, I just want to know if I will be accepted in university to study nursing ?
If you are doing the extended diploma then yes! But if it is just the level 3 I am not too sure x
Do u take anything else like two other subject or just health and social because in my college you have to take three
In my college, It is it’s own course. Yours might not be the extended diploma? :)
@@jessica-jayneblogs4509 what the difference yeah for me I take two other subject with it I start tomorrow. I swapped from sociology alevel to health because it was so hard and btech are easier
@@jessica-jayneblogs4509 it’s equivalent to one alevel my exams board is edexcel
Asking for my daughter who is right now in year 11 so health and social care two year course after completing she wants to be a dental hygienist or therapist so what's the next step? Please help ... thank you in advance x
hey what book do you use for this xx
Just Sxli Hiya, so there are a couple that you will be given! You will get a revision guide and I got given the Pearson BTEC National Health and Social Care Student Book 1 and I am not too sure which book you get given in Year 2 but I think it is just the Second Student Book! Xx
Hello, I am a mature student and was wondering if you recommend level 2 first or straight to 3? X
Tbh I don’t want to give you the wrong advice but for an extra year I think it would be worth it to get the level 2 aswell. X
I chose health and social care for sixth form and I’m nervous to do it. I got level 2 merit in gcse😭
Kay E You will be just fine! Just enjoy it 💓
Please help if I join this course from September, I study for 2 years and finish it.
Does it include a lot of maths
Is this course equivalent to 2 levels and can I go into the medical field or dentistry field
Ffg Ffg the Level 3 part is equivalent to 1 and 1/2 a levels. The extended diploma part makes it equal to 3 A-levels at the end of the two years. I think you can! I heard you can become a dentist assistant from it, but the best thing to do is check with your college!
Jessica-Jayne Blogs what if I do the btec equivalent to 2 alevels and biology with it what careers can I go into or uni courses can I do xx
Ffg Ffg I think you can do similar! But I don’t want to give you the wrong answers so ask your college and they will reassure you! :)
Do you do any placements? Where did you go for placement\how many hours?
Sorry for the late reply. For me it will be 100 hours and could be anywhere really x
I’m not sure if you mentioned this in the video or not - which exam board is your course? 💓Great video by the way💓
It’s Pearson 💓 and thank you!
Does it help u to do psychology in university to be a therapist ?
I think this can help you to go on and do this but I would just check with the teachers!
Im doing health and social for y12, I haven't done it for gcse whst level do you recommend I go onto??
just do level 3 level 2 is basic and if your interested in health and social care you probably know most of level two but if you feel really unsure go for level 2
I would say extended level 3 as it is equivalent to 3 alevels. I didn’t do it for GCSES and I’m loving level 3 extended 💓
@@jessica-jayneblogs4509 tysm xx
@@rosieabbott8564 Np!! X
Hi how many words are the coursework’s normally?
I normally do between 8,000 - 12,000 on reports and essays but if you do presentations then that is completely different. Also I tend to write a lot so you can write less than that!!
Can you do BTEC health and social care level 3 when you haven’t done gcse health and social care?
Amy Coker I didn’t do it so yes!
Have you done a controlled assessment and what is it about??
hi thanks for this video, i was just wondering do you think someone could be a vet after doing this course?
Miss lovely if I’m honest, I don’t think so because it is very human based care oriented. Just to be sure, ask your college/ six form for more info! 💓
@@jessica-jayneblogs4509 thankyou✨
Do only girls do health and social care or can men do it to and was there any guys in ur class
Guys can definitely do it as well! I’ve always had boys in my classes.
@@jessica-jayneblogs4509 okay thanks
Hi there when will I need to buy the level 3 book by. Thank you
Is online NVQ level 3 or CACHE level 3 in Health and Social Care valid for senior care ?
What level shall i choose if i wanna do nursing or midwifery?? (I applied for level 1 nd a dont know if i can go for nursing or midwifery) can i have some help please !
Am lost😭
I would suggest doing level 3 health and social care
After getting the qualification you can do a degree apprenticeship which will get you in midwifery
Or doing level 3 apprenticeship in midwifery (if you have work experience)
This link explains it :
www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/explore-roles/midwifery/roles-midwifery/midwife/entry-requirements-and-training-midwifery
Hope this helps
@@abidaali2481 do i have to pass an exam to get into the college or i will start directly? What about whan i finish level 3 in health and social care i will be a registered midwife or do i have to study more in the university ?
I swear that am totally lost they called me to go to the college am so nervous
Nd thank u so much for ur help !
Nd can i work as a midwife after finishing level 3 ?
Khadija Yedder
If you are aged 16-19 you need GCSEs or level 2 (BTEC) health and social to continue level 3 health and social care
Grade requirements for GCSEs would usually be 4 for English language and maths - ask your college
If you are 19+ I’m guessing you pay so it’s doesn’t matter if you don’t have the grades or not ( I’m not entirely sure)
You cant become a midwife after completing level 3
You need to do a degree apprenticeship to become one which is basically working ( getting paid ) and studying
Or you can get into university if you don’t want to do an apprenticeship
@@abidaali2481 how many years does the apprenticeships takes ?
I passed everything but failed maths would I still be able to take level 3 extended health and social care
Yes you can.
Yes, you should be able to!
New spec is harder apparently:/
zero it might be but it’s still possible!!!
Do you have do work experience in that course??
Diāna B it depends on the college! But for mine yes, we get set a time period where we have to complete 100 hours of work but your college should help you set all of that up.
Hi this was so helpful just wanted to ask if I could become a dentist through health and social care?
I believe so, but just check with the college or six form you want to go to!
im doing level 1 health and social care and doing a level psychology and sociology
That sounds so interesting 💓
I was thinking about this how do you find it x
@@humayajavid8426 i like them all. sociology and psychology have a lot of content but if you keep on top of it you'll do well. All these subjects link so nicely but im not sure what i want to get into there arent many options
