Please rename if you’re leaving Oakland. We can keep the Athletics/A’s, and the colors until Oakland either gets a new team or are forever immortalized !!!
The A's are tied for the 3rd most World Series Championships amongst MLB franchises, it'd be crazy to abandon that history and rename the team. even if they move. Having said that, they belong in Oakland, fuck Fisher, he should sell the team.
It would be crazy to change the A's nickname. They have been the Athletics since they were in Philly, KC and Oakland. What about the Giants, Dodgers, Braves, Rams, Cardinals, Jazz and others. You would lose most of the fan base.
I say the A's should keep their name in Vegas. Aside from the Browns moving to Baltimore, the Super Sonics moving to OKC, and a few yrs after the Oilers moved to Tennessee, teams usually keep their names in their new homes.
I love DP but this is the first time I’ve been in invested in a story that he is discussing on a personal level. So bummed by his takes. I know people don’t care about the Oakland A’s but his first interview felt like “when is the right time to mention Kyler Murray (because “remember that crazy interview”) and this went into a joke pretty quick too. Bummer.
Yes and that is exactly why the fans are so important and why John Fisher was one of the worst sports business people ever. He ran a storied franchise into the ground.
The mascot, colors, logo, history remains in Oakland. Jeff "please call me Donald Sterling" Fisher can move the team and rebrand them to whatever outfit his Gap/Banana Republic/Old Navy stores can provide. In fact, I like that name... The Las Vegas Banana Republics.
Yeah. What’s “jazzy” about the Utah Jazz? The Utah Missionaries…or the Utah Non-Profit, No-Tax-Paying Polygamists. And there are no lakes in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Tar Pits.
Athletics always been named that. Way before they went to Oakland. They need to keep the name. My hope the team becomes more profitable and Fisher sells it. Gap has been going downhill lately. So them getting a competitive team with him. Won't happen. At least long term. It will just be the same bs
The ATHLETICS as a brand goes back to Philadelphia, Connie Mack, and the origins of baseball... I think that tradition needs to be honored and continued in Vegas... If the Yankees, Cubs, or Red Sox moved there I don't think there would be a question of maintaining that connection to the history of the game. The non-trad's got universal DH, let us traditionalists keep the names of the original teams of baseball's origin's intact.
I quit following the A's after more than 30 years in 2019 because of the horrible ownership. But if sold and move to Vegas, they should definitely keep colors and name. Hell, they've already done it twice before. This is a multiple World Series-winning franchise.
Not really. In Philly, the A’s were blue and white, green and white in KC. The Kelly green and gold is distinctly Oakland. Especially the gold. Definitely flashy 70’s colors for Oakland of that era.
My 5 year-old rolls around on the ground to get attention when I take away her ipad too. Their city is dying along with the rest of Commiefornia due to the people that they vote into office that establish woke social agenda policies. Driving up crime, drug abuse, debt, homelessness, taxes higher than Snoop Dogg, and the deterioration of public infrastructure. It's bad for all businesses, including sports. Citizens and businesses that are fed up are running from the state like its the plague. Congratulations. You get what you vote for. That new Vegas stadium design is lit tho!!! 😂
Oakland is an American third world city, the Coliseum is a decrepit wreck, and the stadium neighborhood is a hell hole. It's all over except for the lease fight and the moving vans.
Fisher should sell the A's, and then create his own expansion team in Vegas called the Silver Spoons
😂
I would call them the Slot Machines
😂😂😂
I guess "Was Born on Third Base and Thought I Hit a Triple" is a little long for a team name.
Underated Joke 🤣
Call them the Las Vegas Bandits
We can laugh because it's not happening to us, Just for a minute, try to imagine losing your team.
I feel so had for A's fans and Oakland
Thankyou 🙏
Fisher needs to sell to a Bay Area owner because the East Bay has fans. Let him expand in Vegas so he can ruin the team there.
Tradition says take the name.
Wish he would have on Casey Pratt to shed some Oakland perspective
Yah he would be much better than these horrible ideas & takes.
Please rename if you’re leaving Oakland. We can keep the Athletics/A’s, and the colors until Oakland either gets a new team or are forever immortalized !!!
This will be the third professional sports team Oakland loses. I don’t think any owner would take the risk of bringing in another team
The A's are tied for the 3rd most World Series Championships amongst MLB franchises, it'd be crazy to abandon that history and rename the team. even if they move. Having said that, they belong in Oakland, fuck Fisher, he should sell the team.
No chance they change the athletics name. They’ve been the A’s for a century
It works in Vegas too . Fits the whole deck of cards/ gambling theme.
Las Vegas Aces
I can't believe that this is going to happen.

The money is not in hand for A’s in Vegas. It has a long way to go in Nevada Legislature. C’mon guys get your facts straight
This reminds me of “Save Our Sonics”. That didn’t work well either.
Do not change the name

Bro it’s a 63,000 capacity stadium what the hell are you talking about
I’m crying.
As and A’s fan this breaks my heart, but in the end sports are a business

Fisher/Kaval = Spanos/Fabiani 2.0
The mascot, colors, logo, history remains in Oakland. Jeff "please call me Donald Sterling" Fisher can move the team and rebrand them to whatever outfit his Gap/Banana Republic/Old Navy stores can provide. In fact, I like that name... The Las Vegas Banana Republics.
This is like being an mean boyfriend, then trying to get your girlfriend back when she leaves you. They weren't there when it counted.

Maybe Floyd Mayweather can buy the Oakland A's
The Vegas Strippers

Ah, yes, the Las Vegas Yankees. I like that…yet another reason to hate the F’n Yankees. 😂
@@seanhoward8025 the Yankees would never in a million years relocate I would bet on the geyser in Yellowstone erupting before the Yankees move
@@jumbostorm887 It was a joke, knucklehead.
Yup, they carried the name to a new city twice. They were also the Kansas City Athletics in the 1950s and 1960s.
It's a little bit comical that they don't know that it's a founding AL team. You don't just dump 120+ year old names.
MLB KEEP THE A’s name in Oakland as expansion team. Las Vegas get the team and stupid fisher ownership and change there name in Vegas
The guy that owns this team is a disgrace I wouldn’t support this team until they change their way

Now I want them to be the Juggernauts.
pretty bad take all things considered
Las Vegas A's Holes
Giving your money to an owner you are boycotting is mind boggling.
A's belong in Oakland. Vegas can wait for an expansion team.
Moneyball heads to Vegas. I can't wait for the A's to run to the roulette table to try and double up their funds to sign some big free agents.
Lakers… Stars… cries in Minnesotan.
That's the North Stars. 🤨
And it's the Los Angeles Tar Pits.
Lakers moved in 1960 not many are around to remember that
Vegas Aces is a no-brainer
Seriously...wnba.
They've said they're keeping the name (I mean, they kept the name in Kansas City and Oakland. So).
And Philadelphia before Kansas City
Vegas high rollers ‼️🎲
The Vegas Craps!
This just brings attention to how empty the stadium usually is, and why they should relocate
Blame Oakland. The stadium has been old for three decades. They clearly don't want to keep that team.
You’re clueless

Maybe people don’t get the emotion and spirit. The reverse boycott was and will go down in sports history, just like the Play.
Lol. No it won’t. People have already forgotten about that lame attempt at creating any kind of attention.
@@atlbraves1983 you may be right. There is so much joy in sports. I want to celebrate the love of the game, its not lame to me.
Fisher is a worse owner than Antonio Brown
Beautiful A’s !!!!!❤️🥲🥲🥲 Whether or not tainted by a creep like Fisher.
