That's totally true. I had a sticker on my bedroom door when I was in highschool that stated exactly that.
How do you make it smaller without changing the key?
As you probably know - the bell is shorter than the slide but the screw into each other. So you need to make the slide shorter and the bell longer in order to keep the pitch. Do you play trombone as well?
