Peanuts you buy at a store may contain _traces_ of nuts because they tend to be processed using the same equipment. Nut free peanuts, as the name implies, are not.

In fact, that panel is from the beginning of the fourth chapter.
It’s called “Hachigatsu Kokonoka Boku wa Kimi ni Kuwareru” which I’m 99% sure translates to “August 9th, I Will Be Eaten By You.”
It’s basically about a teen who did something when he was a kid, and now a bunch of Yokai want to eat him for reasons that I won’t spoil.
It was really good, but short. It’s a cool mix of horror, romance, supernatural, and other similar stuff. I’d genuinely recommend it.
I just hope the next chapter comes soon. If I’m correct it’ll be the 24th.

The reason the peanuts are nut-free is because peanuts are genetically not nuts. They are instead legumes, similarly to peas. I am deathly allergic to nuts, for example, as that's how I died and had to be resuscitated the first time, but I can eat more peanut butter than a human should be able to safely consume with no harmful immune response. The peanuts being nut-free are supposed to indicate that people like me can safely eat them without dying again.
The real weird part was that it specified that the peanuts contain peanuts
