You can win more on average if you solely focus on the averages and stats, and that's just memorisation. the real skill comes in the social aspect of the game, and that's where Tony G is the king. Getting your opponent emotionally affected is an entirely valid and sporting tactic - it's a shame so many of these sunglass-wearing "pros" don't understand, and take it personally.
