- So put a towel under your arm pits and keep your left arm straight and what have you got! Go on you tell me!
That’s right the worst advice ever, the least amount of club head speed and control, and I see this on driving ranges all over the place
Believe it or not, there are Tour players that have bent left arms at impact, yes that’s right bent left arms at impact!
The excuse was, well they’re so talented so they can do it but the biomechanics and the science behind the movement proves why it works
The left arm should be supple and the right arm is what creates the width, the left arm will appear straight in most cases but it’s not stiff or wooded!

It does make a lot of sense to me. Every time I concentrate on keeping the left arm straight I hit the ball all over the place. So I'll try to focus more on the right arm and being more natural.

Oh hell Lee, that first attempt at hitting a ball one handed with totally straight arm was an absolute riot! All of us handicappers have been so silly out there; it is pathetic.

Cheers Greg mate! Yes the left arm straight, it’s one of the big misunderstandings in the golf swing! The right arm creates the width and the left arm remains supple. To produce speed you’ve got to learn to get fast softly, so forcing the left arm straight just kills this! Thanks again for your nice comment, it’s much appreciated 😊👍

Yes the width is created by the right arm therefore the left arm appears to be straight but is supple and ready to go! The camera needs a good slap every now and again - close your eyes and nonetheless thanks for the nice comment 👍😊

Hey Justin buddy! Obviously I’d need to have a look at your swing but topping often comes from a swing directional issue. Check that you are not aiming too far to the right of the target at address! The classic is to then swing left to get back to the target which blocks your body causing all kinds of problems through the hitting area! I see this a lot! A family of funny looking swings. The girls' swings look pretty normal though.

@@LeeKopanskiGolfswingzone you never noticed that you and and your family has a pretty similar unique swing? Everyone one has their own style and you and your boys are all similar. One of the boys actually swings directly over the top of his head! Is that normal to you?
@@rydaug79 not sure why I’m replying to this but my boys swings are totally different from one another! Hugo is tall with long levers, very much a rotary swinger and hits it miles, Seve is well built and leans towards a stack & tilt style of swing. Leo is a hitter with a short backswing and short follow through and uses his lower body really well. The lads are all very good players, low single figure and play all over the country and in international tournaments. Have a look on tour and you won’t find 2 swings the same! To say we all have the same unique swing style is strange but whatever floats your boat!
@@LeeKopanskiGolfswingzone yes they are all different but I see a little of your swing in all of them. By funny I just meant a bit unusual like Jim Furyk. It wasn’t meant to be mean spirited at all. But all of your swings are unlike anything I have seen before.

All the pros have a straight left / right arm....funny that.
What is funny is a random comment like that from someone that probably hasn’t watched the video. Both arms straight? As stated in the video the left arm is supple not straight and the width comes from the right arm. That is the difference between a good/great player and amateur! The straight left arm brigade has killed many a golfer and hurts like hell at some point. There are many tour players such as Westwood & Brooks that have a bent left arm at impact. Done yourself proud with that comment Jesse…
Still can't find a video of any right handed pro who's left arm is not straight at the top of the backswing no matter what you say.
@@jessebongo46 Tom Watson had a decent career just to name one! You said both arms straight at the top??? If you watched the video then you would know that the right arm is what creates the width and the left arm is supple and relaxed and not stiff or forced straight! Silly argument this pal!

And yes you may see the odd tour player with a towel under his arms to improve distance control and take some speed out. But I’ve never met an amateur yet that needs or would like less distance 🤣👍 Superman is going nowhere even if it’s just me and him left at the end of the day! Cheers for the support 👍

Was für eine dumme Bemerkung das ist! Du hast es also einmal ausprobiert und es hat nicht funktioniert? Für Anfänger? Das ist der Grund, warum ich Tourspieler-Coaches in meine Videos aufnehme, weil Leute wie du, die wenig Wissen haben, denken, bevor sie sprechen! Der gerade linke Arm hat schon viele Golfer umgebracht und Verletzungen verursacht. Die Breite wird mit dem rechten Arm erzeugt und deshalb scheint der linke Arm gerade zu sein, aber er ist weich!
