I don't think I'd have been able to leave the house if I was in Sarah's position, the idea of everyone judging me at that age would've been awful. I had a real fear of those kinds of things at that age though. I associated babies and pregnancy with a lot of negativity. I remember my pregnant teacher filling me with a sense of dread when I was 11. I think it may have come from the knowledge of my mom's teenage pregnancy and how she abandoned(she raised him as a child than left him with his dad and never spoke to him ever again) my brother and we were forbidden to speak about it. On top of that knowing my parents were stuck together because of my sister and me and how miserably we'd all been. I was very sensitive and aware of things though. I'd never have had sex willingly at that age, if someone assaulted me and I ended up pregnant at 13 or 14 it honestly would've scarred me for life. I know I wouldn't have told my parents so an abortion would be out because it would be too late by the time they realized. I probably would've ended up on drugs, committing suicide or something. I don't know how young girls cope with pregnancy and motherhood, I really don't Yes, it is a bit weird how much I've thought about this. For some reason though - at a young age. Eloise Midgen sounds like childhood trauma to be honest. You seem to have gone through a lot . Also sounds like the adults around you shared their problems with you when you should have been enjoying your childhood rather than being their therapist. I’m sorry for your experience. You sound like you worried you would be abandoned too. I don’t know everything about your family but it was hard to read your comment because of so much worry being on a young child’s mind that it stuck with you. Your mum must have gone through so much to abandon a child. Mentally she couldn’t have been in a good place. I hope she got help and support to deal with how that must have effected her long term. Did you ever find your brother? . It’s a lot to take in even as an adult so I can’t imagine how you felt hearing that as a child. You must be such a strong person to get through all that. You come across as such a lovely caring person . I wish you every blessing for 2020 onwards.
