@@philallard986I’m a Patriots fan and I agree, this team is most certainly looking like they could win it all this year. I can envision at minimum a division dominance that’s Patriot-like considering the state of the other teams. Minnesota is looking very bleak with their future, Green Bay could be in deep trouble if Jordan Love doesn’t work out, and Chicago is an absolute mess. Detroit could be getting on a run where they dominate the NFC North for the next 10-15 years possibly, wouldn’t say they’d be a dynasty like New England but to be fair 1 Super Bowl for the Lions would be like 3 for the Patriots.
This video did not come from multiplier 101. It came from me. They got it off my internet archive channel. I synced this a long time ago. Actually it was the first one I ever did.
Listening to this in 2023, hoping to see the rematch in February. I’m surprised (but not really) that the whole game isn’t on video. This wasn’t broadcast on TV?
It would have been on TV, but back then they didn't always record live events, or if they did, usually it was kinoscope. Video tape was still basically in it's development stage.
at around 1:41:00, Lions president is interviewed at halftime, saying if they played at a 100,000 seat stadium, they would sell it out. Clearly referencing Michigan Stadium. It makes me wonder if the Lions tried to play there, but Michigan wouldn't let them
@Football Restored Listening to that halftime show was pretty interesting. Heard from Art Rooney before the Steelers became a dynasty, and the nfl commissioner. interesting to hear where the league was at at that time, and you could tell it was a growing sport.
Now in 2023, they’re at minimum a dark horse Super Bowl contender. If they don’t win it all this year, I could see them pulling it out within the next couple years. Only one playoff win ever since this game though, back in 1991. The Lions time is coming, and if the Denver Nuggets and Texas Rangers can end their shares of long time sufferings why not the Detroit Lions?
Championship years are on the way back for the Lions. They will be back! Superbowl this time. Restore the ROAR!!!
We'll see how good they are in 2023 right away week 1 at the Kansas City Chiefs
I would like to see this footage and audio remastered, but it's nice to see the Lions win a title of some sort at some time in history
Amazing upload
Great day for Detroit Lions fans!
Great way of keeping track where the ball is using simple graphics I like this. The only thing missing is the timeclock
I've got to buy a Pontiac car!
Sad to think 65 years later, it’s still the last title the Lions won :(
I have doubts we’ll see them win a Super Bowl in this lifetime.
They will win this year! I believe it

It's been 66 years since the Detroit Lions were champions. Will they ever earn a Lombardi? Maybe soon.
A browns vs lions championship game… wow
Funny to think both of these teams that faced each other 4 times for the championship would go 0-16 in the 21st century
SAD TO THINK ABOUT BRIGGS STADIUM LOST TO THE PAST, ALONG WITH ALL OF THE HISTORY THAT OCCURED IN THAT BUILDING.

Edit: I have corrected the notes to reflect this. Thanks for the correction and comment!
@@footballrestored171 No worries. I appreciate your work.

I wonder if you could use something like madden to get a realistic simulation

Good catch. Just the year prior, in 1956, was when seating was expanded bringing that figure up to 100,000.

@@footballrestored171Why do you have comments turned off on your video?
@@RushAnthem69 If it's not letting someone comment, I'm not sure why.
@@footballrestored171 I sent that comment to the wrong person. Sorry, no issues commenting here lol.
Who's have figured teams from Ohio and Michigan would hold a grudge against each other!
I CONCUR WITH RYAN, THIS HAPPANED WHEN I WAS FIVE MONTHS OLD. I DO NOT HAVE ANY MEMORY OF IT
Barry Sanders rookie year!
The last NFL championship for the Lions

I WONDER, FROM A VA NUTRITIONIST'S PERSPECTIVE, WHAT IS IN HYGRADES.
SORRY, HAPPENED, NOT HAPPANED
The CFL had way better broadcasts in the 50s.
