Yeah, that's what I was thinking. There's more than a few sampleable portions in this song, and just having that as a talking point for your song is tight.
Music knows no borders and has the ability to unite people of all kind from all over the world of all ages . Here I am, a metalhead in her early 40s from northern Germany, enjoying a song that was performed like 70 years ago by these extraordinary talented gentlemen.
This is more gospel than rap music, even if his singing looks like rap... Hip hop culture didn't exist at this time you know. Nothing fantastic about gospel being biblical bro.

Man I love this so much, its what my poppa listened to and I grew up listening to. Brings back so many fond memories of my mother and father. I miss them so much but I'm so thankful and humbled by the gift of God, love and music that they so selflessly gave everyday all the way up to the day they went home. God is good all the time! Shalom
Yes even Jesus rapped but there were no cameras and instruments but he had a beatboxer in the background, according to letters of Paul the Apostole and tablets of stone it was more like a freestyle to his followers about morals
Although it is not considered hip-hop in the modern sense, this technique of rhythmic speech, known as **"jive talk"** or **"rhymed preaching,"** did influence future forms of spoken music. The style of The Jubalaires and other gospel and jazz groups from that era definitely contributed to the roots that eventually led to rap.
I love how there is a hook and everything. This is so awesome! This song has been stuck in my head like current rap song would for a whole month. Total hit even now 💪
They got this style of music from white people of the 19th century there's a recording of white people rappin in 1860 something which is the oldest recording of rap and it's fast and lyrical. White people used black people to do their music because they were cheaper and it was more profitable.
I feel like KDot would make a whole album based on this sound now. Man what a cool play on an old blues. The guitar riff itself is the down beat and music like a super basic freestyle type beat. To even have the forethought to not ‘sing’ to the chords but speak as a melody man back then. So cool
Damn.... That was nice though!! I never knew anythying about them, until I saw them on a YT short one. 1st time hearing the full song. They Broke The Chain after that, loved it. Thank You my dudes!!

Soundies are so important to the history of 20th Century music. They really had a sort of video jukebox in the 1940'S and they preserved performances like this. More people need to see this.
Honestly these guys have better flow than any rapper of the modern century, satisfying mix of swing-time singing and semi-fast paced syllables. Similar flow to Max Jazz in Insomnia.
OMG I got a NEW FAVORITE SONG ...I LOVE THESE GUYS !!! THANK YOU FOR TURNING ME ON TO THIS -- I DIDN'T KNOW THIS EVEN EXISTED.... I AM TICKLED TO DEATH ...Is there any more of these guys on an album..? 😢
Given that these guys essentially invented not only gospel rap, but rap in general. Rap today makes the deceased members of The Jubalaires turn over in their graves and it makes the surviving members wish they were dead.
These guys had no idea they would be viewed by many in the year 2023.

Someone should sample this..that would be so 🔥

@@Slootyah Do you mean Run On? That features a similar song, God's Gonna Cut You Down, which was also performed by these guys, but it's not quite the same. Unless this song is sampled elsewhere on that album that I'm not aware of, which is possible.

there you go
Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
Music does NOT always Unite People across Borders. Thats bullshit. All Music is Not for everybody.
Condolences on your head.
Same, except for the geography , I am based in Brazil ✌🏼🤘🏼
This is actual talent and done with intelligence.....what rap music is today is dogshit
The fact the first rap song is about a Bible story is just fantastic.
This is more gospel than rap music, even if his singing looks like rap... Hip hop culture didn't exist at this time you know. Nothing fantastic about gospel being biblical bro.

First rap performance and was about the grace of God 🔥

Go figure. Awesome observation!
Unlike the majority of modern rap, which is about money, power, materialistic delights, whores and killing.
More like the wrath of God

Man I love this so much, its what my poppa listened to and I grew up listening to. Brings back so many fond memories of my mother and father. I miss them so much but I'm so thankful and humbled by the gift of God, love and music that they so selflessly gave everyday all the way up to the day they went home. God is good all the time! Shalom
Good Words. I Lost my father Too. I miss him very much. But someday we will all Meet us again in Holy Paradise😊
@@axel.keen24 Amen to that, I can't wait for that beautiful day when we will all dine together my friend. Many Blessings Shalom
I reckon it’s the first RECORDED rap performance. Absolutely marvelous.
Yes even Jesus rapped but there were no cameras and instruments but he had a beatboxer in the background, according to letters of Paul the Apostole and tablets of stone it was more like a freestyle to his followers about morals
@@Gerald0613bro what 😂
Hovig Vanoyan it's not rap performance he is singing
“I reckon” 🤠
@@catsboxesyt The funny thing is that I’m Armenian and
not even from US. I understand it’s the southerners who speak like that, right? 😁
Very great performance. Very talented band.
Top 4 rappers of All time
Top 5, dead or alive.
I love how there is a hook and everything. This is so awesome! This song has been stuck in my head like current rap song would for a whole month. Total hit even now 💪
Thank you!! I have had the same experience. Waking up morning with this song in my head. This track is top shelf
this is actually peak, its impressive how on beat he was able to rap
who still listens to this 2024?
I do

Is it possible to not like this song? The innocence is mindblowing
This actually goes hard🔥🥶
Noah
Busta Rymes needs a history lesson when he said Black Americans didn’t invent rap. This is fantastic.
Agreed
They got this style of music from white people of the 19th century there's a recording of white people rappin in 1860 something which is the oldest recording of rap and it's fast and lyrical. White people used black people to do their music because they were cheaper and it was more profitable.
@@dassolosyndikat5113Lies, whites didn't create nothing.
I feel like KDot would make a whole album based on this sound now. Man what a cool play on an old blues. The guitar riff itself is the down beat and music like a super basic freestyle type beat. To even have the forethought to not ‘sing’ to the chords but speak as a melody man back then. So cool
Basically untitled unmastered
The Big Steppers
Nah it's called "Noah". It's definitely something 2000s Kanye would sample
The melodic rapping reminds me of King Kunta

Wow Lil Baby is immortal.

Beautiful harmony. You can hear the spiritual gospel and the work field songs influence from their singing. Such rich music.
Amen to that.
😅"work field song" I always chuckle when people refer to slavery with downplay like "field work"
Cruel slavery* not field work.
These guys all have "Heavenly Flow"..!

They got shot by a competing rap group from the opposite coast they are from.

Isn't ironic how this was the first rap song talking about the Bible and a moral story. And we see how rap today is nowhere near this.
We still have Gospel rappers.
There is nothing moral about christianity or religion in general.
