    Hi Steve,
I think it was your fault that a year ago I bought my Humvee HG P-408, and I am very happy, and I must say that these three vehicles that you present are the most complete in terms of details and mechanics.
My Humvee had an honor the first road in the real military base. ;)
Greetings from Barcelona and i hope you continue transmitting so much and good enthusiasm!

I own the HG P602 MRAP 6x6 truck, I love the heck out of that truck. It has some quirks but easily overlooked if you love working on and detailing/modding these RC vehicles. -A tip for the smoke units, I use regular baby oil to refill mine, and it smokes great. A big bottle of that is cheap compared to the tiny smoke oil bottles on RC hobby sites.

Welcome to US acronyms. The Cougar is classified as a Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected (MRAP) vehicle. The 8 x 8 is a Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT) and lastly the High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV).

  • @unkownwinters2932

Own all 3. The only problems I have with them are the servos because of the weight. Also the 8x8s drive shaft creates a lot of friction between the two rear axles and will become brittle and snap easy.
Another note is the gears in the planetary gear box on the hummer are plastic but it’s a good weak point to have as a fail safe.
I love these things though and am very familiar with them. I was keeping track of the milage on the 6x6 since I take it on my daily walks and it’s at 273.4 miles without any mechanical problems (only cosmetic due to slip ups) and on broken shock from hard abuse on the trials. I recommend swapping the 6x6 wheels to what the hummer runs for it’s a perfect fit and offers that little extra needed ground clearance.

Hi Steve, I purchased my hummer after watching your review video - my first RC in about 15 years!. There is nothing that compares to the features and quality for the price. This is a display quality RC. I've replaced my rear antenna (broke after a roll over) easily and pretty cheaply and will probably stock up on other spares too.

I can't stop drooling over these. I just got into the hobby more in depth. I mean, I had rc's when I was a kid but never could put my action figures in. Fast forward to today. I still collect action figures as an adult. Then I came across the fms H1 hummer, and I was amazed! Having served in the USMC and Motor Transport was my mos, and looking at the interior of the fms hummer's true scale was a g.i. joe classified series collector's dream! Even the marvel legends fit perfectly. But I really want that Mrap. Would you say $485(U.S.)is a decent price?

Totally agree, HG is doing a great job so far. And some of these Chinese brands sometimes can get licensed by bigger brands and get more spread. Take Yi Kong racing for example. You have, or at least had, the YK4101, well guess what: now that chassis is sold with a Wrangler Rubicon (awesome) body by Absima, a German RC brand, as the Sherpa. They added some nice touches, great paint job and lights, clear German style instructions... it's really an amazing car, I love it. Anyway I hope HG keep growing and am looking forward for their future releases.

Great overview and truly does point out the value for money. I grew up only knowing Tamiya in terms of dependable quality. When HL first came out with their tanks, they were pretty bad. However nowadays you can so easily and, more importantly, relatively cheaply upgrade many of them to more than acceptable quality standards. Not to mention the plethora of spare parts available at reasonable prices. There is another brand that makes the vehicles in this video that is on the uber cheap side and would reflect the usual "China= ripoff+poor quality", HOWEVER HG is not that company. (Maybe worth mentioning as in terms of looks on a webpage, some people might not "see" the difference.)

Especially since there are so many upgrade parts that fit them for really cheap. New metal axles are $9-14 for example. HG is amazing, but WPL offers hobby fun on a tiny budget

Not over priced considering what you get. If the mainstream manufacturers made these then they would be, definitely

They've been around for quite some years; They started with a basic g-wagen like crawler, no? Then these military vehicles came out...and the Tamiya clones :p (got the fake Bruiser myself, nice customising base). I've been eyeballing the 8x8 tow version for a while: looks very versatile.

Yeah man they have been around for a while. They seem to be getting better for sure too
