- The Military 5-Ton bed and parts along with the RT6000 Forklift are some of the very last items from Jack Tomlin's military surplus yard in Tooele Utah. I worked with him and this very machine many times and it was hard when he passed away a few years ago. He had an amazing collection of military trucks, weapons, and tons of all sorts of cool things.... Tires came from my friends work from an old grader.... Thanks Les!
Totally Wizard, most excellent...................JB.
Clearly I am an old soul because I love all this old machinery. Thanks for bringing it back to life!
You and I both. When he done the Drott video. It brought back memories of my Daddy who was murdered 44 yrs ago n i just turned 14. He earned the nick name Dr. Drott. I assume cuz he was the wizard who was able to fix it on the job working on a paving crew. Les asked Alan n it was picked up from Idaho where my Daddy worked on that crew. Wish i knew if it's the same one.
I wish I had more old military stuff it’s just fun to work with
Perservance is the thing to put in place when your dealing with old reliable (sometimes) machinery - in this case a front loader forklift!!! She's truly "old school" with a hefty loud motor - but she works - can't complain!!! Here!!! Here!!! Wizard you deserve a metal of recognition for putting that loader on safely and without no brakes was amazing. That's a very, very, heavy load Wizard!!! You want a "RIM" use your wand LOL!!! You got my vote - again a great job well done Wizard!!!
Alan fits so well in the Family of Diesel Dave + Heavy D. A Giant Brain needs to be busy.
You remind me of the man who has taught me to be an Arborist👊🙏😎
Just what you needed, another truck bed
Les: "Wizard... whatever that means..." Alan is the Wizard of the Mountain Fortress, and getting ancient heavy equipment started again! 😃
Nothing purrs like an old Detroit. Congrats on the cool equipment Wizard!
Way to go, Alan. Especially with no brakes. Keep Smiling. Stay Safe. God Bless.
Well done.Thanks.
Alan never ceases to amaze me
Lot's of Wizard moments in this video. No brakes help the adrenalin flow. At least for us mere mortals. Knowing Alan, it was probably just another day.
Keep chipping at the mountain friend. 👌
Great job Alan really getting it together. Can't wait to see the Fortress come together.
Truly....I found this channel following Sparks.... and y'all are so genuine. To me, it's 'boys and their toys', and it is just a treasure!! I can see the delight y'all men have in this. It makes me smile seeing y'all so happy all dirty and greased up. Those big machines are marvelous, so worth keeping running. Bless the geniuses that invented them!! Bless each of y'all, and keep every one of you safe.
Alan it's always good to see you and your videos. Keep them coming.
A fair exchange is no robbery Alan (pizza for tyres) happy days👍
Love the sound of that 2 stroke Detroit Diesel. Nice job loading with no brakes.
Good job guys. God bless ❤❤🙏🙏👍👍🙏🙏❤️
Les is more... never held more true than today! Nice to see you got that forklift running. Look forward to seeing the fortress finished to the point where you can start working on the interior.
Can't wait for Alan to get his 20 yr Fortress project finished.
Have a nice day
What a sight to see I remember using one of those when I was a Seabee in the 1970's! They were amazing a wonderful piece of equipment. When used as a forklift , a brush clearer, or even trencer in sand. Not quiet to use but a really dependable machine!
Keep up the great work. Okay.
Good Morning I used to be a tow motor operator when I was working
Hi Allan really like your channel, keep up the good work
Great manoeuvring with an unfamiliar big fork lift, with no breaks :o)
The trailer is awesome
great content Al keep up the good work
22.32 you aren't wearing you seat belt, being a wizard won't keep you safe in a crash but wearing your seat belt will! Please stay safe so you can make more awesome videos for everyone to enjoy 😇
Anybody ever tell you to stay in your own lane?
I always stay in my lane, with my seat belt on.
Way to go Alan, I'm happy for 🙏🏻 you to have got some used New Equipment for the Fortress. I'm sure Will be a Big Help to get ur done. Love you Friend from Colorado
👍👍👍👍👍
I can't wait to see this beast restored! Treat it well, you'll be awarded !
Man what a journey you have been on!!! I am really happy for you your dream is back within your grasp. You have a ton great friends and supporters can’t wait to see how much progress you make over the coming years. Cheers buddy your living our dream wish I could join you!!
That thing's a beast. Love it!
Your buddy is funny, and has a good head on him 👍
shes a oldie but a goody.looks to be a good one.having no break sucks when having to get it up on the trailor.but thanks for sharing with us bud.
This mans private house probably has a little path to walk and that's it. Probably jam packed with stuff he'll never use.
Drove those forklifts in Camrahn Bay Vietnam back in the late 60's. The pettibones had v6-53 and the anthony's had 4-53's. Yours definitely needs some work. Operated them for nine months straight on the night shift. Worked in the ammo dumps and loaded and unloaded truck convoys and ships. Sometimes the ships unloaded by Larks the amphibius vehicles. Had to really be careful to not punch fork holes in the Larks. Many times I've wished I had one to drive around hear at home. Only thing not good is that we had to load agent orange and a lot of the barrels leaked and we got the crap all over us helping stand the barrels up in the trucks. Now all these years later I end up with prostate cancer and nerve damage. The cancer has been controlled with radiation and hormone treatments for now. The nerve damage will only get worse over time, but I'm going on until the end doing everything I can.
Keep chipping away, my friend.
Different video good luck getting up the mountain that appears to be an old hyster fork lift great video thanks Allen
I know your a busy man but I love the longer videos if you can do 40 or 50 min videos that would be awesome everything your working on is very interesting. But I understand you are very busy. Great video as always!!!
Hi From Denmark 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰😃😀😃😀
Love these videos. Love seeing your channel growing
That looked like a heavy load for that single axle truck, nice forklift to assist in building projects
Coleman's surplus in Millersburg, PA has sever of these forklifts in their yard. it would be a sourse of parts
Great to see that Pettibone RT still running. They use the RT's on the Navy's LHA ships.
that dude on the little forklift knows his shot. excellent operation
Hi wizard, that is a beast of a machine, being that it had no brakes and because of the size and the damage it could cause I think it may have been safer to raise the loaded bed and reverse the trailer under it, not that I’m in to heavy haulage but I’d hate to damage Dave’s trailer. 👍
You the man! Do you ever just rest? Great job, especially with no brakes!
Glad you have some used tires.
Pretty slow tow motor, l believe you can move more weight and pieces by your self! 😛🤘.
Kidding aside, l hope the tow motor actually helps you.
All the best to yall.
✌🏻🧡👍⚠️❄️🌧🇨🇦☃️🤘
Nice vlog getting better at making content with your channel, thanks BigAl California
The thrilla from Tooele! Alan I admire your ingenuity and perseverance. I love seeing new life being bread into the old machines. I have an old Champ dinosaur forklift that has become a great machine after a bit of work. Great Job and keep it up!
Good load
@Mtn Fortress Labs Alan @Les Nuttal That really was WIZARD. No brakes 😂 You guy's get er' done for sure. Hmn wonder what Les was doing on his phone 🤣. Love You guy's so much.
Nice truck
Excellent Score Alan you can really use That
I see I'm not the only one who knows how to move something with out brakes. It's scary when they suddenly fail in traffic.
It amazing how long your trailers and motor homes are in the USA
The restrictions here are strict you have to be licensed heavy haulage firm
Thank you for the front row seat. Love seeing tasks come together, and brother you've got some tasks. Best.
Well that went great.
I had a old Pettibone forklift like you bought that was from the military and it had no brakes i got use to it without brakes and finally got brakes on it about 2 years after i bought it. It doesnt know how much it can lift i have lifted way more than its rated for and its a big help around the farm
Thanks for uk
Wow ya mad lad vehicle with no brakes , nice job as you got it done SAFELY.
#1 Lesson: Wizards don't need no stinkin' stickers!
Great video
I'm glad you decided to back on to the trailer. That counterweight is a lot better at the front. Good luck with your hunt for a rim. Thanks for the vid. 👍Jim Bell (Australia)
If only the day could have more hours, Alan would have an awesome running vehicle park. Then the construction as a whole could proceed even faster. Maintaining the road, building storage at the top and bottom, moving and sorting stuff around, digging mines, and harness natural energy. This is awesome.
The engine in the forklift sure sounded good after it warmed up.
I think you will have many useful jobs for it in the future.
Alan I really enjoy watching your shows and I hope you have time to upload more. I know you are a busy man.
See you soon.
He could sit in a pile fire ants & Still give a thumbs up 👍 ❤️
Good job “Wizard”! If nothing else at least you’ll have parts to mane one good machine!❤️🙏
Al you got all the good stuff Totally Wizard
Now Alan, spend some time on this paint it give it a tub first it can be 1 of the steps fowad and paint will protect it till you find the cave under your mountain
Great video it's amazing watching you and your video love your mountain top home so sorry about the fire 🔥 you have it looking great out there thank you for your video
That was full of jeopardy!! Had my heart racing a bit. Look forward to seeing forklift in use. Thanks Alan 👍
Great job Alan, looked like fun driving that old forklift, all the best from Alaska 👍👍
You are a beast Allan
Allen when you have help do what the riggers says to do like putting sticker under that load you will feel a lot better about your helpers if you communicate with them Just sayen !!!
When I was growing up doing the same line of work you guy do . We got our first forklift in 1990 and the forklift was a 1934 Ross Military Dockmaster . We used it for 11 years then sold it to a retire vetern .
You got Skillz Dave
Writing this now at the 6 minute mark where you've just driven the fork over to the trailer and I noticed the left rear wheel is only moving little bits at a time, mostly it's locked up and dragging so, if it felt sluggish to move, there's one reason, or at least trying to watch it here it looked to be locking up early on. At least this one started ok.
I don't know it there's a drain at the bottom of that fuel tank but I'd be letting some out into a glass jar and seeing if there's any water at the bottom, the same with any filters with drains. Who knows how long that fuel cap's been open or what's built up at the bottom of that tank over the many years since she was made. I remember seeing a huge split around the inside of the sidewall of one tyre earlier, the right rear I think which looked pretty bad.
Had heart-in-mouth watching that blind reverse up the trailer ramp !!
Great job Al !!
why? never loaded a machine on a float we can tell
Glad you you got it running!! I can't wait to see it working on the fortress!! God Bless you and good luck Sir!!
Great job . Have a great weekend brother
Mr Wizard, a tripod would have been more use than the guy who came with you.
one man's junk is another man's treasure. good old screaming Detroit Diesel sounds like it's trying to break a landspeed record meantime it's doing the grandpa shuffle
Livin here in Allan town
Great content thanks for sharing
Ratchet on right-side was sticking outside trailer, should have repositioned. Nice job getting loaded.
Wow Alan, that was a lot of logistics you had to do bud…..plus every time you have to go up top. Thinking ahead what you need to make each trip worth the trip to the top. The thing that gets me is you walking about on the top of yr structure up top when is blowing gale force winds. You are a star bud.
The Wizzard in a Blizard
Your doing a great job wizard love the video
Alan nice fork lift, a little TLC and you'll have it as good as new or close to it.
#TeamWizard 👊😎🥃
Great stuff moving forward
Interested in the brake.
What I have seen on petite bones and old michigans , people disconnected the brake, because the. Kick bar would take it out of gear.
Great job.👍👍👍
Alan you’re gonna need some masons to help you pour concrete and lay block. I might be old but I can still spread some mud if you want some help!
I hope you will have a parachute when you drive one of these up to the fortress.
Making big moves brotha , this is gonna help a lot on top 👊🏼
Sweet!
love your videos Alan, keep up the good work.
