While the human race is working on not dying, genetically modified furries could be left on the surface to maintain the planet for when humanity is able to return. I mean i'd like to think as the future comes we will be able to have fursuits that are made much more advanced where we wouldn't need stiches and regular old fur. We would have sort of... attachable bits of plastic that were molded to our body that would be so realistic feeling and looking but we wouldn't need to alter our bodys. It would be like the fursuits of today, were we can take them off and go about our day when we are done. Why make real animal people when you can just advance current tech? No moral issues, no complications, just high tech crap.
