My dad fired the real 6060 in the 50s when he worked for CN. We had the chance to ride her in Algoma years ago and the engineer let Pops up into his old work horse for a ride. I thought he was gonna cry. He would love to see your scaled down remake. Beautiful job.

The automatic draincocks are cool. They go off sometimes when I wouldn't have expected, but that shows they are doing their job. What a nice loco. Who knows when we'll see the real one run again. Really enjoyed that video, thanks!

I loved riding the small scale train at the San Antonio Zoo when I was a kid ! I forget the scale, but it was a bit larger than this one. Hopefully I'll get to build my own some day ! They probably think it's a waste of resources (considering it uses liquid fuel and not coal [which is ironic since it might be using diesel, sort of a diesel-steam hybrid], it's also made of what I can assume is steel, and the tracks itself appears to be in a park space that used to have lots of trees that they cut-off for the tracks to have somewhere to be in)
Man ive been to stettlers Alberta Prairrie and the Alberta Railway Museum and Damnnnnn!!! that thing is spot on identical... how the hell does on manage to have that many skills in fabrication to build that ! Soooo freaking awesome !!!
He previously restored (prize winning) antique cars. He had never done anything like the locomotive before and taught himself everything he needed to know about both steam locomotives and machining to complete this project.

I think this train would do great in national parks , the rail track must be situated on a flyover of atleast 25- 30 feet above the ground and people would be seating in this train and enjoying the scenario of Zoo..

These hobbyists need to start protecting their investment. Thieves won't hesitate to steal these models to either resale or strip them of their precious metals. Just a warning from one hobbyist to another
That's a fact. I'm already thinking about stealing some of those trains, but only because I like the engineering. So I would steal them to keep them. I would never break them down or strip them.
They are way too heavy to be lifted and stolen though if they have enough time they could put it on their car by connecting rails and stuff. Their parts can be stolen too

These models are absolutely amazing, and are truly works of art. Whoever made this is extremely skilled. But I have to admit, I find riding on these pretty silly lol. Why not just RC it and watch it go around? I don't know maybe I'm just not seeing something yet, but as long as they're having fun that's all that counts.
