  • As the party rooted in the right-wing ideology comes to power in India, there has been a shift in focus towards analysing what it means to be right-wing in India? Various attempts have been made both by the supporters & detractors to define it. However, the broad contours have remained ambiguous at best. It is therefore, necessary to revisit the right-wing thought in India & attempt to analysis its foundation & the trajectory it has adopted.

    Your lecture was informative.
    I believe a unified ecosystem of intellectuals is important for any narrative to be impactful. Maybe intellectuals should come together and introspect on how they can be unified despite differences in perspectives.

    What has happened to India for all of us to make the hue and cry? Which sections of the people have built and will build India in the past, present and future? What is the contribution of the Right Wing/Conservative Sections in building India?

    It is not theory Abhinav its practice we lack. We need to put Integral Humanism guys with practical approach who have to implement. Vietnam agriculturist learn in our universities in 60-70 but their production today is better than ours(see Sadhgiru's lecture). You put into practice and restate refine your theories and everything starts with good leadership.

    Great points made by Abhinav Pratap Singh. Agree with him on overdoing teh Vedic stuff. But I disagree when eh says village utopia is wrong. But it appears he is projecting urban utopia. That way he is siding with the false idealists on the left. Villages, cities, towns existed in Bharat for thousands of years. Agreed, but the decadant unsustainable urbanization, pollution etc of the present cannot be projected as panacea for caste problems. When Savarakar said what he said, he had Japan, Germany etc industrializing and taking on old colonial powers. that was the background. We are 100 years forward in time with more lessons. We need industry, capitalism without unsustainable corrupt capitalistic economics that is disastrous to environment, culture, society in the long run. Just as metros are not the same as cities of yester millenia, villages can be developed so that they dont have to resemble the old villages. If not old villages, new smaller, sustainable, less crowded communities need to be constructed.

    My 2 cents regarding the economic question. Nature on its own can correct a disparity, which is what the free market economists harp upon. That isn't necessarily a painless, chaos less process. A limited state regulation smoothens the process.

      1 more thing to add is that most of the modern women will oppose chanakya's work coz they think he was a male chauvinist .we know in the present time women empowerment has reached on such a different level that no one can even talk about chanakya with a modern women without facing hate .

      @@kaushik92-lj Yes. But this can & must be countered by alluding to the less flattering sides of George Washington (who owned hundreds of slaves) or Gandhi (who supported inter-generational caste hierarchy), etc.
      I'm not saying Chanakya must be sacro-sanctified, just that "male chauvinism" or other such SJW stuff cannot be reason to dismiss the brilliance of someone who lived that long ago. We remember & respect people for their best side... not even their average, not at all their worst.

    Being right wing should not mean having a strong nation-state, Abhinav. Being right-wing should mean having strong individuals who voluntarily cooperate to create a strong society, a strong nation. Strong nation-state will mean a weak people; and that is what the leftists want.

    WTF? On what basis did this just discard Chanakya, as irrelevant to this time? Not all he has to offer is relevant, but discarding the whole idea is plain stupidity.

    • @Articulatekarein
      @Articulatekarein 4 года назад +4

      He is not discarding him completely
      He is saying we should understand his nuance
      But modern problems require the current solution with the consideration/understanding of history
