the account recovery thing is real though I lost a 10k UR account a few years back because I lost my phone and when I contacted ponos multiple times each time they said the account was being played on and eventually stopped responding. I played so much on that account that Worker Cat was burned into my screen lol
9:04 i myself have got a cursed seed, I've been playing one save file for 8 YEARS and have spend a good amount of money on Gacha and in my 8400 user rank it does NOT have Metal Cat, Gold Cat, Rich Cat lll, None of the Brainwashed cats, And ZERO LEGEND RARES. Come on man i want metal cat so bad, ROCK AND STONE!
Those aren't key units so it's fine, I mean metal is very good and useful but not necessary. Also there's a lot of ubers better than legends, you technically don't need one but yeah unlucky. Though 8.4k user rank isn't too high, keep going hopefully stuff changes

Holysheep i have 8 friggin years on this game and i just noticed the amount of flaws and lack of QOL features this game haves They are making some QOL changes since last year (like the expanded enemypedia with their traits and skills) so i really hope they realize "ow man this game is 10 years old, maybe giving it cloud account sync is a good idea"
For me the only problem i have with battle cats is the energy system needs internet to refill which might not be a problem to a majority of people but for me internet is kinda limited. But i do understand the measures they took to fix the energy refill glitch using device time.
You can just use mobile internet, you just have to have it for a minute and you'll get all energy you had to get dependinf on time you've waited ( yapping)

Ponos could make treasure festival guaranteed chance for superior treasure and give more free powerups and leaderships as you progress through early game
Dude energy in beggining-early game is so limited. If it weren't for the abundant treasure festivals and half-energy cost periods that happened in early summerfest this year (which is actually when I started the game), I think it would've taken me a few more days to complete EoC and perfect all the treasures. Fortunately you get leaderships for every map beaten including SoL maps so I'm sailing quite smoothly now.
@fasta5462 exactly, if ponos decided not to make treasure festival give guaranteed superior treasures then they should at least remove the whole energy system, this just makes the game more boring when you have to wait a couple of hours and even a whole day in some cases to recover your energy just to end up spending all of your energy trying to get superior treasures on 3 stages, then the cycle repeats
The energy system should be introduced in itf which makes sure u will be able to get leaderships while actually having energy bc in the beginner phase leaderships are hard to get and makes the energy system horrible
I had a cursed seed when I started 2 years ago. I bought 4500 catfood only to get 3 duplicate units. After that, I just had to go seed tracking.. Fast forward, I am 27kUR and just keeps on boring grinding cat tickets and rare tickets. The QoL for these things definitely need to get improved specially the autos. I'm losing my patience specially with the new units collabs that has not been happening for months.
I personally think Metal enemies are still one of the worst ideas design-wise in the game. Thankfully there are a lot of options to deal with them nowadays, but it still doesn't excuse the fact some stages are still only won on a dice roll.
Agreed. Grinding elder seeds sucks when I get the metal continuation stage and I have paladin cat which makes it a coin toss instead of a dice roll but even then it's not easy to do and I still lose sometimes

as someone who's replayed Empire of cats like 3 times because of the terrible account recovery, the beginning phase is pretty rough not only having lost units but also to grind the most annoying part of the game, i think just getting rid of that is good because at least into the future has some character to it, and cats of the Cosmo is its own annoying yet entertaining chpt
As a player whos been playing for a LONG time, (pre gamamoto era plus fungi cat and PPAP collabs). I agree with all your points, less so with the cursed seed part but its still a fair point. I have always wanted to recommend this game to my friends but the beginner process is so tedious and long I just cant bring myself to do it. I also see it with PONOS marketing and how they are starting to advertise to the west and all I see are beginner stages and cats and nothing that shows the fun mid and end game like crazed stages and such. If I were PONOS I would overhaul the beginning to make the grind not nearly as bad. But it will always be my favorite mobile game and I do see the course PONOS is taking with a few recent QOL updates so I have hope!
The whole Gacha system is so stupid, because like im done with all manics and have started Cotc and have like +1 CanCan, while some of my friends have like 2 legend rares and none of them have finished Itf (except for one, but hes actually good lol)
When I first started a few years ago I never knew what SoL was and never played it because it was hidden at the bottom of the legend stages. I think it would be more accessible for new players to make it into a different story chapter like EoC, ItF, and CotC, just without treasures. They could also expand on the UI allowing you to choose how many stars of difficulty you want to play on and maybe a stage filter for specific enemies to beat to clear the monthly kill quest challenges. Half energy cost events and a treasure chance-up event for SoL in this form would make new players want to grind the small rewards with a 1% drop more I think. I made a new account around a month ago and early SoL just seems like EoC but with a few new enemies that match the same difficulty in new ways (Master A, Celeboodle, Dagshund, THE SLOTH, etc). New players that just beat EoC Chapter 1 would have a breeze through parts of early SoL until they have their first few challenges.
honestly lately ive ben wondering why battle cats has been so boring and this is excactly why another thing needed to be changed add more events and make them shorter cause these 15 day levels that are pretty easy and finished in 1 or 2 days stay there for soooo long and it make me lose my motivation to play the game

Ive played this game at least 5 times from the beginning (Not including 3ds and Switch versions), and the beginners stage is without a doubt absolutely, mindboggling tedious. The Switch version kinda fixes it by making energy refills and continues only cost 3 catfood instead of 30, making treasure radars half the cost, only having 3 chapters and making the Cat Ticket stages drop rare tickets instead of normal Cat Tickets and I think it would be a really nice change for the mobile game. I don’t think using gold CPU’s should be free. That would completely trivialize catfruit stages, and possibly make Ponos ruin them and make them limited like bstone stages. I don’t think condensing all of the story chapters into 50 stages is a good idea. That would make the game way too short. You could just go with what Battle Cats Unite did and make each story mode have one chapter instead of 3. Keep in mind that a single bun bun is very difficult for most players in eoc, already reaching cotc like 30 stages after that is way too fast
I’ve been playing dokkan for years, and i can tell you that grinding medals is not compareable to grinding treasures. This is just because of the rng of treasures. I am also seriously stuck in battle cats i feel so restricted right now. I could def use some guidance.
I had one account years ago I got pretty far I had unlocked musashi had all the cyclone stages done. I think I was user rank $6,000 or something along those lines and I lost my account and it was just too painful. I stopped playing completely because of that and just recently came back and even as a returning player who had experience and knew what to do and how to make the grinds easier, I can definitely say the beginning portion is by far the worst. It's just there's no need for it to be so grindy. I totally agree on all the points you made about that
I played the game since the game initially had names based on Japanese prefectures I reset once cuz of a lost account and honestly the one thing I NEVER want to repeat is Story chapters. It's tedious to grind for treasures even with Treasure Festival. It should also have a pity if you grind say, 10x and don't get Superior treasures. That being said, a lot of QoL features I didn't encounter since I came back from around v8.0 is like the double row, 2x Cat CPU clear, talents, etc. Powercreeping is surprisingly tame after all these years. So even if Battle Cats has these issues, the core game is still pretty good considering its been around for 10 years and counting.
as an experienced battle cats player i have lost 3 battle cats accounts in the past (my last one of which i had 6500 user rank) so i had to resort to the battle cats unite. the battle cats unite dosen't repeat itself in the beginner phase so there is only 45 stages for each chapter. also it has really fun OP minigames
I started a mini account since I've reached the end game on my main save. You'd think grinding XP, fruits, and stages would be awful, but no the worst part was getting treasures. I forgot how tedious and awful it felt having to set a schedule to play during a treasure festival because for whatever reason whenever you have a good amount of leaderships saved up and have the mental capacity to play for an hour or so it never wants to appear. Both 24-hour festivals as well as 1-hour ones become elusive bigfoots. That's one of the main things I've never understood, just buff the drop rates for treasures and remove the festivals altogether. Why force players to go through the repetitive slop that is the story level’s (mainly EOC)? It got so bad to the point where I couldn't for the life of me get the treasures for ITC Ch3 so I just bought 60 treasure radars to finally move on and do SOL. It's crazy that they haven't changed this system. The fact they are required to get so you can move on to the best part of the game is annoying.
One thing I recommend to all players that struggle is to seed track🙏. This game sucks the life out of you when you try and work around not having a key gatcha unit. I remember for the longest I couldn't beat many alien stages on my main save because I didn't have surfer cat.
The reason all my friends stopped playing was Empire of Cats. I knew what was beyond (this is like my third or fourth play through) so the hope that eventually it would get fun made me keep going but they had no clue as to what the midgame/endgame was and so they had no reason to continue…
Yeah i just started 3 days ago and it's been... Not great. It does feel really repetitive so far and find it annoying especially these chapters being copy and paste while also feeling like i can't use the gacha either while barely getting any xp. I'm starting to burn out fast and it's kinda sad...
My suggestion to improve a bigginer phase is to try make different stages for each chapter not just a near copy and paste as most main story chapters are Also speed ups being a free quality of life, 100% agreed i always question why so many games have speed up just like that but in battle cats you need to geind for them, because how speed ups are always limited I'm often discouraged from using them which makes some parts of the game even more boring than how they already are, like for example farming stages or uninteresting legend stages With CPU tho i don't mind how it works right now mainly because CPU always was a very underused item so lot's of people had them stockpiled
As a person stuck on itf chapter 3 moon I can say it only stops being tedious once you get to like Brazil chapter 2 with the exception of floating continent and moon

The account recovery for me as well. I lost two accounts which I had progressed quite far and when trying to transfer over to a new phone, the code didn't work and PONOS weren't any help at all. It's so frustrating 'cause you invest so much time to have it all go to waste. Just give the option as said to link to an email. Pretty much every other game has this option

If u wanna ever bring up a good example of bad power creep, just look at Crash Fever and the Global version which is now EoS. Global version has to buff units that release compared to their JP counterparts just to be usable (imagine a cat had critical chance on JP, but global had to buff it to savage blow to be usable at a base line), and the eventual addition of new Omega Quests ("super end game content" is a joke) required u to pull for the 2 new c65 banner units, as well as have a specific free to play unit from 3 years prior to be able to clear it.

Me missing can can and almost at Universal studio SoL boss Also I have a solution for EoC Ofc we Will nees to change stage design for most stages But my idea is to add CROWNS to eoc The catch is that each every set of levels that make an effective treasure give you x catfood upon clearing them on the same crown not counting the first crown/origianal stages. Each crown Will increase the catfood gained and the chance of treasures: 2crowns 15 catfood 45% treasure 3crowns 20 catfood 65% treasure 4crowns 25 catfood at least normal treasure guaranteed Now before you ask, no there isnt gonna be an outbreak for each crown Instead there is a shared zombie outbreaks accross all crowns This fixes outbreakes because There is more than 1 outbreaks eachday and this gives extra use for more treasure chance for each crown

I think there’s some good takeaways from bc unite on switch, specifically how the main chapters are presented. One chapter for each of the three, even though it feels slightly rushed. Pvp mode from bc unite would be a good addition as well, would be great for the 10th anniversary update Lastly, I don’t mind the QoL currently, my only gripe is with the usefulness of Cat CPU. It would be nice in the pause menu mid battle you could select cats that the cpu can’t send out, say cat combos for instance. Legitimately my only issue. The power creep is so horrendous, I can't believe PONOS decided to release Garu as a uber tanker, but doesn't even give it curse immune. Like, bro, Garu just became useless in my eyes because of that lack of curse immune.
Honesty the only reason why I started tracking my seed is simply because I have been playing this game for ages, I have a lot of cats (and I mean a lot) but I somehow never seemed to get a legend rare. When I started researching how seeds work I realised how flawed the gacha system truly was. I try to stay away from looking at anything except for how far away my next legend rare is. Mainly because I am a collector and legends are still so hard to get (I only have 4 legends even though I genuinely have the best seed I’ve ever seen. Not even joking when I say that I had 2 legend rares IN A ROW!) Thus I can start collecting legends while also having the excitement of “random” Ubers.
There needs to be a solid way to build cat food. I understand there are the legends path, but it feels so stagnant after the rush of clearing all event stages
I kind of like the chapters being fairly long, but for gods sake GIVE ME SOMETHING THAT ISN’T A COPY AND PASTE OF THE LAST CHAPTER. I would like it if for EOC, ITF, and COTC you battle separate locations from the last chapter, and the few stages that were fought in the last chapter that you still fight should have different stage designs with different enemies. The essential checkpoints like floating continent, great abyss, some of the special only restrictions for COTC, etc. Also, DEFINITELY agree on the “guarantee a tier of treasure” rule during treasure fest. No one likes clearing a stage a bunch of times for nothing.
My issue with this game is that it's very hard to figure out the path forward for unlocks and progress. I haven't played in months and have no idea what cats I'm missing, what stages are relevant, or what i should be working towards next.
I’ve actually come to like the new ad options as they don’t interfere with gameplay at all and act as a way for the player to grind for more by doing less. As well as having it as an option to continue a stage every so often to save gotcha pull especially when you have to grind sol due to finishing the main chapters faster than you thought you would. As I’m at the point where I can’t do anything till I get to and beat the fist chapter of UL to true form the legend special units, and to get relic fruits. Also does anyone know when brainwash units come back into rotation been saving my cat food and my discounted gotcha rolls.
Another problem is.... THE ISLAND OF HIDDEN TREASURES. My angel units don't seem to make any difference or seem to damage the enemies, How do I beat these levels to obtain angel item rewards when I can't beat the level??

For me, the lack of rewards is such a huge problem, like for other gacha games you can get 10 pulls just for playing in about 1-2 weeks, but for the battle cats I played for nearly a month just to get a 10 pulls, also I do think the gacha system need some kind of pity system where you could get guaranteed Uber for the current banner, I get it the company want to make money, but it's a gacha game, so the main thing is all about the gacha, maybe PONOS can increase the amount of rewards or just create a new reward system where for examples you clear 1 stage you get like 5 cat food or something like that. So yeah, for me the reason I quit battle cats is just because of the rewards
my solution for the treasure problem would probably be exp rewards for each treasure set completed and catfood rewards for each treasure set maxed to superior. this would give new players a more visible incentive to grind these treasures. I will admit I'm not sure if this would solve the problem completely, but when I play a new chapter I always grind treasures as I go and its not as difficult of a grind. I completely agree with the treasure festival becoming a guaranteed chance for a new treasure and believe that in pair with this would not only make treasure grinding less of a grind but also something new players would want to do. personally I think the idea of missions rewarding treasures isn't exactly a good one, but that's my opinion. it just seems a little too difficult for the rewards you get, I got this idea from that by basically reversing it and this one wouldn't even be difficult to implement.
another issue that i think is important is Regular Cat tickets A lot of progression is locked for your main cats, they're the main thing in the game and considering silver gacha tickets, not only are shared between normal cats and upgrades but If you want a true form for ar egular cat it could take hundreds of regular cat tickets , and PONOS drops them extremely rarely once a day, or getting 2-3 whenever the facing danger stage appears or even more rarely Cybear is horrible I'm already in CoTC ch2 and my eraser is still at 20+5 after like 200 tickets cuz it just doesnt seem to drop
Game needs: -stats on every unit (doesn't need to be super in depth; hp, attack per hit, cooldown) and a way to see how much per upgrade gives (brawl stars had this on launch) -stats on every enemy per level. some have different stat buffs all around -guaranteed uber/legend every capsule 11 draw. no reason to make them that rare and allow +levels on them. -speed up & CPU have to be unlimited, or they can be unlocked kinda how you get the cat god discounts. officers pass could change the rewards up to even more cat food or even xp and catseyes or fruits. Even if the stage is easy, going through an old stage for 2 minutes isn't productive vs. -30 seconds. -completely useless/joke units should have reworks to make them at least viable somewhere. Or, have the stats shown so we know instead of wasting xp on bad units. -NP needs to be easier to obtain. There are SO many upgrades, why not let the player obtain them all?? Cat food purchases ofc. The recent QoL with the newer ad rewards has been good, but it doesn't do anything to solidify the foundation of the game. Most new players don't feel the power curve because they're not exactly sure what to upgrade and what those upgrades do. Late game players spend time going back and forth on mygamatoto and youtube for guides. Make the game less desolate in terms of feedback and more streamlined for the player to enjoy on their own. I have been playing games for decades and in comparison to Dark Souls 2 I have looked up less guides on where to go in comparison to the battle cats. I love the game but the research chores are insane for a game this in depth and stingy on resources.
If I’m being honest, the reason beginners quit battle cats is probably because the more they play the game, it starts to feel overwhelming to a point they can’t catch up to things like events or treasures. And even with beginners being able to earn tons of cat food, they will most likely use it all without knowing the true value, probably using them for rare ticket pulls, or extra exp.
I've been missing octopus for decently long now. I have pretty much every other key gacha and I've done a few 11 draws, but I have yet to get octopus. I'm currently at the point in the game before Musashi, getting manic and li'l cats, CoTC 2, first half of Aku realm, advents, etc.
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE SPEED UP AND CAT CPU STUFF. I left battle cats because I was getting bored of grinding in the mid game for absolutely everything. With the new feature of skipping battles with double cat CPU I returned. But I'd have never left if the feature was introduced in the game a very while ago. Btw W video and W guides. I don't blame you for wanting to leave Battle cats. I love this game, but I hate it's still so unpolished.

In my opinion a big issue is like early game when you only get 7 rare tickets in eoc (empire of cats) and no more in the other chapter of eoc so you get the units you get and no more for a while
@pein4332 no filibuster is unlocked by beating cotc chapter 3 and and appears on that map. And aku realm is basically main chapter that introduces aku after doing it's requirements. Boogle can explain it better
I think both treasure festival and Z-medals should guarantee treasures. If PONOS is too afraid to merge all the chapters into one like you suggested, at the very least they could change EOC chapter 2 & 3’s level design by using different enemies (like some slighty nerfed SOL enemies) to at least add some element of surprise for new players to encounter as they go along.
Lowkey lets be honest, the MAIN chapter should just be SoL, and then the new chapters after that should be like the Uncanny Legends and then Zero Legends etc. The EoC, ItF, and CotC chapters should just be more of an extra thing to do/grind to make cats stronger if ppl struggle on SoL, UL, or ZL in my opinion at least.
My biggest problem with the game right now is that my next major step in progression is multiple weeks of simply grinding cat fruit and waiting for tickets. Empire of cats has been 100%'d but Into the future 1 is 100% but I've hit 2 and started to stall out with what I've got. I assume this is about the time I start trying to unlock the eraser clone but... I just picked up battlecats on switch instead.
It took my like a year to get all the key gacha super rare units cuz I only got surfer, can can, swimmer and pizza once I got to cats into the cosmos my seed was kinda cursed.
I hate the recovery system, I've been playing for 7 years and had have had 6 accounts. My current Account is 3.5 Years old and is my best account yet, If I lose it i'll be super depressed.

My main issue is how long it takes to get strong enough to clear ITF. I’ve been stuck between SOL and limited stages trying to get good units, I could clear ITF 1 but that’s not very useful for me
Totally agree with the beginning of game grind. I have a second account and have to push myself to finish ITF3 ( almost there, though) I often just play my primary account, it’s more interesting.
In my opinion, I don't really have a problem with speed ups or cpus, HOWEVER, I can relate to the whole "cursed seed thing" as it took me 2 years to get nerd cat/ cyberpunk and I STILL haven't gotten metal cat after 5 years of playing and basically beating the game. I also don't like the account recovery system nor do I like the start of the game as a whole. What I do like about the start though is that it prepares you for the rest of the game (?). A lot of this game comes down to grinding and I do like that Ponos isn't afraid to open with that. Idk though, this is just my view on the things you pointed out in this video.
I lost my account years ago cause I forgot to get the code and lost literal years of time invested into the game. Including things like collab units, true form units I had boosted, Ubers, story progress, everything. And I never really thought about it until watching this video but it’s left me so burnt that I haven’t picked the game up since.
another big problem you did not mention is the pixels i feel like afetr 10 years they should of def put more effort into the unit and its not just the old unit new unit are also bad pixel it makes it very annoying
I’ve quit playing the battle cats at this point. I feel like the game is the definition of quantity over quality. Sure there is a sh1t ton of stuff to do, but i feel like i’ve never actually had fun playing the game. Imo it gets way too repetitive in it’s gameplay. Summon the meatshields, summon can can, then summon your ubers then win. This is coming from someone with 4k ur, all manics, all true form key gachas, mostly lvl 40 units. Game is just too boring for me to slog through cotc 3 and sol 2,3,4 star.
I think having just three chapters for the whole main saga would be nice. Chapter 1 being eoc, chapter 2 being itf, and chapter 3 being cotc. They can keep Aku realms as a seperate thing as well.
I feel like seed tracking ruins the point of the gacha system though. That thing about getting a bad seed I don't exactly have experience with as well.. I have both gaos, both d'arts, mitama, and dgaru, but seed tracking feels like ruining the actual fun of the game. To me it's like "why would I grind for a netherrite pickaxe when I can just get one in creative mode". I don't really like the idea of cheating a system to only get the best things.
The only way to make it truly random using a computer is to make the computers track something natural, like the fifteenth digit of the out side temperature, or something with change that is natural. Thats probably why they use fixed seeds.
I think putting all 9 main chapters into 1 chapter is too steep of a hill. Instead, I think 3 chapters is better, which keeps every stage, whilst making it less repetitive. I would fit the chapter 2 and 3 bosses by having the other side and moon core as stages after the moon for EoC and ItF, for CotC, I woulx add the Milky Way before Andromeda, move the enemies from Andromeda to the Milky Way and Blackhole to Andromeda, then make Blackhole the chapter one boss, add Whitehole straight after that for the chapter 2 boss, and the Big Bang would be for the chapter 3 boss, the Great Abyss would have something similar, with the Great Abyss Exterior, Interior, and Eye, with chapter 1, 2, and 3 bosses respectively. For ItF and CotC early stages will have chapter 1 enemies, middle will have chapter 2 enemies, and late stages will have chapter 3 enemies, this is to make up for the progression being less steep. For Treasures, each would have 3 parts, the base, the star, and the border, the base is given by beating a stage with 95%, 75%, and 50%, base health remaining, these would look like the current, superior, normal, and inferior, treasures respectively, except the star in the middle is missing. For the star, it is gotten, the way treasures are currently gotten, except at a buffed rate, 50% outside treasurefest, 100% within it, there is now a 40%, chance for dull, the lowest and dimmer colours than the normal star, a 40% chance for normal, our current star, and finally a 20% chance for Vibrant, which as its name states, has brighter colours. Finally, the border, it is a coloured thin wavy line around the treasures border, which is gotten by completing a stage with a certain restriction, with the level of border being represented by what level you did the challenge to, e.g a level might give you a blue border for using 9 slots, a red for using 7 slots, and a rainbow for using 5 slots, you can also have a border and/or a star without the base, and vice versa, this would incentivise players to replay stages without finding it repetitive, if this were to happen people who already had chapter 1 treasures would get the base, chapter 2 the star, and chapter 3 the border, each part would have the same effect and each essentially count as the old treasure equivalent, meaning that you can have 300% all EoC treasures in one chapter, same for ItF and CotC

honestly, i won’t say i have a cursed seed because it’s pretty stacked. however, i only got swimmer and jurassic cat around the time i beat stories of legend, which i always thought was really funny. only started tracking a few months ago because i felt like it and i’ve mastered it, surprisingly i find myself having a lot of fun tracking down and using units i really like.

I lost my first account two years ago, when someone robbed my phone. I was really angry because, until that point, I played for two years and I spent money on it a few times. But I ended up accepting my loss. A year later, I decided to play again with another device. And the begging was sooooooooo boring. So... I left the game for a few months (never uninstalled) and I came back to make some progress with no rush. And... Because of the time I wasn't playing, they gave me everyday awards for return player and, all of a sudden, I had a huge progress. Thanks to those everyday awards (and I search for information while playing) I'm way far in the game than I used to be.
I didnt get cancan until well into UL, and additionally, while thankfully not as bad, theres a number of other units that i didnt get until way later (mostly super rares)...now i did energy glitch so i sped through the game, so maybe its my own fault, but still, kinda crazy to go that long without one of the best units in the game
I think the biggest problem is account recovery because losing all your data on ANYTHING is never a good thing
I wish more games had a way to reset all you progress so you could play them again

Those aren't key units so it's fine, I mean metal is very good and useful but not necessary. Also there's a lot of ubers better than legends, you technically don't need one but yeah unlucky. Though 8.4k user rank isn't too high, keep going hopefully stuff changes

For me the only problem i have with battle cats is the energy system needs internet to refill which might not be a problem to a majority of people but for me internet is kinda limited.

Ponos could make treasure festival guaranteed chance for superior treasure and give more free powerups and leaderships as you progress through early game
Dude energy in beggining-early game is so limited. If it weren't for the abundant treasure festivals and half-energy cost periods that happened in early summerfest this year (which is actually when I started the game), I think it would've taken me a few more days to complete EoC and perfect all the treasures. Fortunately you get leaderships for every map beaten including SoL maps so I'm sailing quite smoothly now.
I think if they made it like that. The player would be underleveled because there is no use replaying a stage that you have a superior treasure.
@fasta5462 exactly, if ponos decided not to make treasure festival give guaranteed superior treasures then they should at least remove the whole energy system, this just makes the game more boring when you have to wait a couple of hours and even a whole day in some cases to recover your energy just to end up spending all of your energy trying to get superior treasures on 3 stages, then the cycle repeats
The energy system should be introduced in itf which makes sure u will be able to get leaderships while actually having energy bc in the beginner phase leaderships are hard to get and makes the energy system horrible
they should make zombie stages give the treasure of the stage the zombied are on if the stage hasnt got superior yet
I had a cursed seed when I started 2 years ago. I bought 4500 catfood only to get 3 duplicate units. After that, I just had to go seed tracking.. Fast forward, I am 27kUR and just keeps on boring grinding cat tickets and rare tickets. The QoL for these things definitely need to get improved specially the autos. I'm losing my patience specially with the new units collabs that has not been happening for months.

Thankfully there are a lot of options to deal with them nowadays, but it still doesn't excuse the fact some stages are still only won on a dice roll.
Agreed. Grinding elder seeds sucks when I get the metal continuation stage and I have paladin cat which makes it a coin toss instead of a dice roll but even then it's not easy to do and I still lose sometimes

as someone who's replayed Empire of cats like 3 times because of the terrible account recovery, the beginning phase is pretty rough not only having lost units but also to grind the most annoying part of the game, i think just getting rid of that is good because at least into the future has some character to it, and cats of the Cosmo is its own annoying yet entertaining chpt

As a player whos been playing for a LONG time, (pre gamamoto era plus fungi cat and PPAP collabs). I agree with all your points, less so with the cursed seed part but its still a fair point. I have always wanted to recommend this game to my friends but the beginner process is so tedious and long I just cant bring myself to do it. I also see it with PONOS marketing and how they are starting to advertise to the west and all I see are beginner stages and cats and nothing that shows the fun mid and end game like crazed stages and such. If I were PONOS I would overhaul the beginning to make the grind not nearly as bad. But it will always be my favorite mobile game and I do see the course PONOS is taking with a few recent QOL updates so I have hope!

The whole Gacha system is so stupid, because like im done with all manics and have started Cotc and have like +1 CanCan, while some of my friends have like 2 legend rares and none of them have finished Itf (except for one, but hes actually good lol)
When I first started a few years ago I never knew what SoL was and never played it because it was hidden at the bottom of the legend stages. I think it would be more accessible for new players to make it into a different story chapter like EoC, ItF, and CotC, just without treasures. They could also expand on the UI allowing you to choose how many stars of difficulty you want to play on and maybe a stage filter for specific enemies to beat to clear the monthly kill quest challenges. Half energy cost events and a treasure chance-up event for SoL in this form would make new players want to grind the small rewards with a 1% drop more I think.
I made a new account around a month ago and early SoL just seems like EoC but with a few new enemies that match the same difficulty in new ways (Master A, Celeboodle, Dagshund, THE SLOTH, etc). New players that just beat EoC Chapter 1 would have a breeze through parts of early SoL until they have their first few challenges.
Been playing for 4 years there is a lot of problems like not getting key gachas took 4 years to get can can, swimmer, ramen etc until a month ago

Ive played this game at least 5 times from the beginning (Not including 3ds and Switch versions), and the beginners stage is without a doubt absolutely, mindboggling tedious.
The Switch version kinda fixes it by making energy refills and continues only cost 3 catfood instead of 30, making treasure radars half the cost, only having 3 chapters and making the Cat Ticket stages drop rare tickets instead of normal Cat Tickets and I think it would be a really nice change for the mobile game.

I don’t think using gold CPU’s should be free. That would completely trivialize catfruit stages, and possibly make Ponos ruin them and make them limited like bstone stages.
I don’t think condensing all of the story chapters into 50 stages is a good idea. That would make the game way too short. You could just go with what Battle Cats Unite did and make each story mode have one chapter instead of 3. Keep in mind that a single bun bun is very difficult for most players in eoc, already reaching cotc like 30 stages after that is way too fast
I’ve been playing dokkan for years, and i can tell you that grinding medals is not compareable to grinding treasures. This is just because of the rng of treasures. I am also seriously stuck in battle cats i feel so restricted right now. I could def use some guidance.
I had one account years ago I got pretty far I had unlocked musashi had all the cyclone stages done. I think I was user rank $6,000 or something along those lines and I lost my account and it was just too painful. I stopped playing completely because of that and just recently came back and even as a returning player who had experience and knew what to do and how to make the grinds easier, I can definitely say the beginning portion is by far the worst. It's just there's no need for it to be so grindy. I totally agree on all the points you made about that
I played the game since the game initially had names based on Japanese prefectures I reset once cuz of a lost account and honestly the one thing I NEVER want to repeat is Story chapters. It's tedious to grind for treasures even with Treasure Festival. It should also have a pity if you grind say, 10x and don't get Superior treasures.
That being said, a lot of QoL features I didn't encounter since I came back from around v8.0 is like the double row, 2x Cat CPU clear, talents, etc. Powercreeping is surprisingly tame after all these years. So even if Battle Cats has these issues, the core game is still pretty good considering its been around for 10 years and counting.
as an experienced battle cats player i have lost 3 battle cats accounts in the past (my last one of which i had 6500 user rank) so i had to resort to the battle cats unite. the battle cats unite dosen't repeat itself in the beginner phase so there is only 45 stages for each chapter. also it has really fun OP minigames
I started a mini account since I've reached the end game on my main save. You'd think grinding XP, fruits, and stages would be awful, but no the worst part was getting treasures. I forgot how tedious and awful it felt having to set a schedule to play during a treasure festival because for whatever reason whenever you have a good amount of leaderships saved up and have the mental capacity to play for an hour or so it never wants to appear. Both 24-hour festivals as well as 1-hour ones become elusive bigfoots. That's one of the main things I've never understood, just buff the drop rates for treasures and remove the festivals altogether. Why force players to go through the repetitive slop that is the story level’s (mainly EOC)? It got so bad to the point where I couldn't for the life of me get the treasures for ITC Ch3 so I just bought 60 treasure radars to finally move on and do SOL. It's crazy that they haven't changed this system. The fact they are required to get so you can move on to the best part of the game is annoying.
One thing I recommend to all players that struggle is to seed track🙏. This game sucks the life out of you when you try and work around not having a key gatcha unit. I remember for the longest I couldn't beat many alien stages on my main save because I didn't have surfer cat.

The reason all my friends stopped playing was Empire of Cats. I knew what was beyond (this is like my third or fourth play through) so the hope that eventually it would get fun made me keep going but they had no clue as to what the midgame/endgame was and so they had no reason to continue…

My suggestion to improve a bigginer phase is to try make different stages for each chapter not just a near copy and paste as most main story chapters are
Also speed ups being a free quality of life, 100% agreed i always question why so many games have speed up just like that but in battle cats you need to geind for them, because how speed ups are always limited I'm often discouraged from using them which makes some parts of the game even more boring than how they already are, like for example farming stages or uninteresting legend stages

The account recovery for me as well. I lost two accounts which I had progressed quite far and when trying to transfer over to a new phone, the code didn't work and PONOS weren't any help at all.
It's so frustrating 'cause you invest so much time to have it all go to waste. Just give the option as said to link to an email. Pretty much every other game has this option

If u wanna ever bring up a good example of bad power creep, just look at Crash Fever and the Global version which is now EoS.
Global version has to buff units that release compared to their JP counterparts just to be usable (imagine a cat had critical chance on JP, but global had to buff it to savage blow to be usable at a base line), and the eventual addition of new Omega Quests ("super end game content" is a joke) required u to pull for the 2 new c65 banner units, as well as have a specific free to play unit from 3 years prior to be able to clear it.
“Battle rats” is wild and 3OB3 is right now I’m at square one it’s kind of annoying because I had my inquiry code but then there were updates that meant you need a confirmation or wutever it was so I’m stuck

The catch is that each every set of levels that make an effective treasure give you x catfood upon clearing them on the same crown not counting the first crown/origianal stages.
Each crown Will increase the catfood gained and the chance of treasures:
2crowns 15 catfood 45% treasure
3crowns 20 catfood 65% treasure
4crowns 25 catfood at least normal treasure guaranteed
Now before you ask, no there isnt gonna be an outbreak for each crown
Instead there is a shared zombie outbreaks accross all crowns
This fixes outbreakes because
There is more than 1 outbreaks eachday and this gives extra use for more treasure chance for each crown

I think there’s some good takeaways from bc unite on switch, specifically how the main chapters are presented. One chapter for each of the three, even though it feels slightly rushed. Pvp mode from bc unite would be a good addition as well, would be great for the 10th anniversary update
Lastly, I don’t mind the QoL currently, my only gripe is with the usefulness of Cat CPU. It would be nice in the pause menu mid battle you could select cats that the cpu can’t send out, say cat combos for instance. Legitimately my only issue.

Honesty the only reason why I started tracking my seed is simply because I have been playing this game for ages, I have a lot of cats (and I mean a lot) but I somehow never seemed to get a legend rare. When I started researching how seeds work I realised how flawed the gacha system truly was.
I try to stay away from looking at anything except for how far away my next legend rare is. Mainly because I am a collector and legends are still so hard to get (I only have 4 legends even though I genuinely have the best seed I’ve ever seen. Not even joking when I say that I had 2 legend rares IN A ROW!)
Thus I can start collecting legends while also having the excitement of “random” Ubers.

I kind of like the chapters being fairly long, but for gods sake GIVE ME SOMETHING THAT ISN’T A COPY AND PASTE OF THE LAST CHAPTER. I would like it if for EOC, ITF, and COTC you battle separate locations from the last chapter, and the few stages that were fought in the last chapter that you still fight should have different stage designs with different enemies. The essential checkpoints like floating continent, great abyss, some of the special only restrictions for COTC, etc. Also, DEFINITELY agree on the “guarantee a tier of treasure” rule during treasure fest. No one likes clearing a stage a bunch of times for nothing.

My issue with this game is that it's very hard to figure out the path forward for unlocks and progress. I haven't played in months and have no idea what cats I'm missing, what stages are relevant, or what i should be working towards next.
I’ve actually come to like the new ad options as they don’t interfere with gameplay at all and act as a way for the player to grind for more by doing less. As well as having it as an option to continue a stage every so often to save gotcha pull especially when you have to grind sol due to finishing the main chapters faster than you thought you would. As I’m at the point where I can’t do anything till I get to and beat the fist chapter of UL to true form the legend special units, and to get relic fruits. Also does anyone know when brainwash units come back into rotation been saving my cat food and my discounted gotcha rolls.

For me, the lack of rewards is such a huge problem, like for other gacha games you can get 10 pulls just for playing in about 1-2 weeks, but for the battle cats I played for nearly a month just to get a 10 pulls, also I do think the gacha system need some kind of pity system where you could get guaranteed Uber for the current banner, I get it the company want to make money, but it's a gacha game, so the main thing is all about the gacha, maybe PONOS can increase the amount of rewards or just create a new reward system where for examples you clear 1 stage you get like 5 cat food or something like that. So yeah, for me the reason I quit battle cats is just because of the rewards
my solution for the treasure problem would probably be exp rewards for each treasure set completed and catfood rewards for each treasure set maxed to superior. this would give new players a more visible incentive to grind these treasures. I will admit I'm not sure if this would solve the problem completely, but when I play a new chapter I always grind treasures as I go and its not as difficult of a grind.
I completely agree with the treasure festival becoming a guaranteed chance for a new treasure and believe that in pair with this would not only make treasure grinding less of a grind but also something new players would want to do.
personally I think the idea of missions rewarding treasures isn't exactly a good one, but that's my opinion. it just seems a little too difficult for the rewards you get, I got this idea from that by basically reversing it and this one wouldn't even be difficult to implement.
another issue that i think is important is Regular Cat tickets
A lot of progression is locked for your main cats, they're the main thing in the game
and considering silver gacha tickets, not only are shared between normal cats and upgrades but
If you want a true form for ar egular cat it could take hundreds of regular cat tickets , and PONOS drops them extremely rarely
once a day, or getting 2-3 whenever the facing danger stage appears or even more rarely Cybear is horrible
I'm already in CoTC ch2 and my eraser is still at 20+5 after like 200 tickets cuz it just doesnt seem to drop
Game needs:
-stats on every unit (doesn't need to be super in depth; hp, attack per hit, cooldown) and a way to see how much per upgrade gives (brawl stars had this on launch)
-stats on every enemy per level. some have different stat buffs all around
-guaranteed uber/legend every capsule 11 draw. no reason to make them that rare and allow +levels on them.
-speed up & CPU have to be unlimited, or they can be unlocked kinda how you get the cat god discounts. officers pass could change the rewards up to even more cat food or even xp and catseyes or fruits. Even if the stage is easy, going through an old stage for 2 minutes isn't productive vs. -30 seconds.
-completely useless/joke units should have reworks to make them at least viable somewhere. Or, have the stats shown so we know instead of wasting xp on bad units.
-NP needs to be easier to obtain. There are SO many upgrades, why not let the player obtain them all?? Cat food purchases ofc.
The recent QoL with the newer ad rewards has been good, but it doesn't do anything to solidify the foundation of the game. Most new players don't feel the power curve because they're not exactly sure what to upgrade and what those upgrades do. Late game players spend time going back and forth on mygamatoto and youtube for guides. Make the game less desolate in terms of feedback and more streamlined for the player to enjoy on their own. I have been playing games for decades and in comparison to Dark Souls 2 I have looked up less guides on where to go in comparison to the battle cats. I love the game but the research chores are insane for a game this in depth and stingy on resources.
If I’m being honest, the reason beginners quit battle cats is probably because the more they play the game, it starts to feel overwhelming to a point they can’t catch up to things like events or treasures. And even with beginners being able to earn tons of cat food, they will most likely use it all without knowing the true value, probably using them for rare ticket pulls, or extra exp.
I have not gotten swimmercat yet, and ive played for almost four years now with four different legend rares and One of them Even heving +2
It does bug me a little that Boogle did not mention the Returner Pack because it literally cures one of the "huge problems"

I've been missing octopus for decently long now. I have pretty much every other key gacha and I've done a few 11 draws, but I have yet to get octopus. I'm currently at the point in the game before Musashi, getting manic and li'l cats, CoTC 2, first half of Aku realm, advents, etc.

I left battle cats because I was getting bored of grinding in the mid game for absolutely everything.
With the new feature of skipping battles with double cat CPU I returned.
But I'd have never left if the feature was introduced in the game a very while ago.

In my opinion a big issue is like early game when you only get 7 rare tickets in eoc (empire of cats) and no more in the other chapter of eoc so you get the units you get and no more for a while

@pein4332 no filibuster is unlocked by beating cotc chapter 3 and and appears on that map. And aku realm is basically main chapter that introduces aku after doing it's requirements. Boogle can explain it better

I think both treasure festival and Z-medals should guarantee treasures. If PONOS is too afraid to merge all the chapters into one like you suggested, at the very least they could change EOC chapter 2 & 3’s level design by using different enemies (like some slighty nerfed SOL enemies) to at least add some element of surprise for new players to encounter as they go along.
Lowkey lets be honest, the MAIN chapter should just be SoL, and then the new chapters after that should be like the Uncanny Legends and then Zero Legends etc. The EoC, ItF, and CotC chapters should just be more of an extra thing to do/grind to make cats stronger if ppl struggle on SoL, UL, or ZL in my opinion at least.
My biggest problem with the game right now is that my next major step in progression is multiple weeks of simply grinding cat fruit and waiting for tickets. Empire of cats has been 100%'d but Into the future 1 is 100% but I've hit 2 and started to stall out with what I've got. I assume this is about the time I start trying to unlock the eraser clone but... I just picked up battlecats on switch instead.
It took my like a year to get all the key gacha super rare units cuz I only got surfer, can can, swimmer and pizza once I got to cats into the cosmos my seed was kinda cursed.
I hate the recovery system, I've been playing for 7 years and had have had 6 accounts.
My current Account is 3.5 Years old and is my best account yet, If I lose it i'll be super depressed.

One issue I have with the Gacha system is that even if you grind for a bunch of rare tickets, you can’t even use them for a 11 draw

My main issue is how long it takes to get strong enough to clear ITF. I’ve been stuck between SOL and limited stages trying to get good units, I could clear ITF 1 but that’s not very useful for me

Totally agree with the beginning of game grind. I have a second account and have to push myself to finish ITF3 ( almost there, though) I often just play my primary account, it’s more interesting.
In my opinion, I don't really have a problem with speed ups or cpus, HOWEVER, I can relate to the whole "cursed seed thing" as it took me 2 years to get nerd cat/ cyberpunk and I STILL haven't gotten metal cat after 5 years of playing and basically beating the game. I also don't like the account recovery system nor do I like the start of the game as a whole. What I do like about the start though is that it prepares you for the rest of the game (?). A lot of this game comes down to grinding and I do like that Ponos isn't afraid to open with that. Idk though, this is just my view on the things you pointed out in this video.
I lost my account years ago cause I forgot to get the code and lost literal years of time invested into the game. Including things like collab units, true form units I had boosted, Ubers, story progress, everything. And I never really thought about it until watching this video but it’s left me so burnt that I haven’t picked the game up since.

another big problem you did not mention is the pixels i feel like afetr 10 years they should of def put more effort into the unit and its not just the old unit new unit are also bad pixel it makes it very annoying

I’ve quit playing the battle cats at this point. I feel like the game is the definition of quantity over quality. Sure there is a sh1t ton of stuff to do, but i feel like i’ve never actually had fun playing the game. Imo it gets way too repetitive in it’s gameplay. Summon the meatshields, summon can can, then summon your ubers then win. This is coming from someone with 4k ur, all manics, all true form key gachas, mostly lvl 40 units. Game is just too boring for me to slog through cotc 3 and sol 2,3,4 star.
I think having just three chapters for the whole main saga would be nice. Chapter 1 being eoc, chapter 2 being itf, and chapter 3 being cotc. They can keep Aku realms as a seperate thing as well.

I feel like seed tracking ruins the point of the gacha system though. That thing about getting a bad seed I don't exactly have experience with as well.. I have both gaos, both d'arts, mitama, and dgaru, but seed tracking feels like ruining the actual fun of the game. To me it's like "why would I grind for a netherrite pickaxe when I can just get one in creative mode". I don't really like the idea of cheating a system to only get the best things.

The only way to make it truly random using a computer is to make the computers track something natural, like the fifteenth digit of the out side temperature, or something with change that is natural. Thats probably why they use fixed seeds.
I think putting all 9 main chapters into 1 chapter is too steep of a hill. Instead, I think 3 chapters is better, which keeps every stage, whilst making it less repetitive. I would fit the chapter 2 and 3 bosses by having the other side and moon core as stages after the moon for EoC and ItF, for CotC, I woulx add the Milky Way before Andromeda, move the enemies from Andromeda to the Milky Way and Blackhole to Andromeda, then make Blackhole the chapter one boss, add Whitehole straight after that for the chapter 2 boss, and the Big Bang would be for the chapter 3 boss, the Great Abyss would have something similar, with the Great Abyss Exterior, Interior, and Eye, with chapter 1, 2, and 3 bosses respectively. For ItF and CotC early stages will have chapter 1 enemies, middle will have chapter 2 enemies, and late stages will have chapter 3 enemies, this is to make up for the progression being less steep. For Treasures, each would have 3 parts, the base, the star, and the border, the base is given by beating a stage with 95%, 75%, and 50%, base health remaining, these would look like the current, superior, normal, and inferior, treasures respectively, except the star in the middle is missing. For the star, it is gotten, the way treasures are currently gotten, except at a buffed rate, 50% outside treasurefest, 100% within it, there is now a 40%, chance for dull, the lowest and dimmer colours than the normal star, a 40% chance for normal, our current star, and finally a 20% chance for Vibrant, which as its name states, has brighter colours. Finally, the border, it is a coloured thin wavy line around the treasures border, which is gotten by completing a stage with a certain restriction, with the level of border being represented by what level you did the challenge to, e.g a level might give you a blue border for using 9 slots, a red for using 7 slots, and a rainbow for using 5 slots, you can also have a border and/or a star without the base, and vice versa, this would incentivise players to replay stages without finding it repetitive, if this were to happen people who already had chapter 1 treasures would get the base, chapter 2 the star, and chapter 3 the border, each part would have the same effect and each essentially count as the old treasure equivalent, meaning that you can have 300% all EoC treasures in one chapter, same for ItF and CotC

They recently added in a feature where you watch ads 10,000 XP, seems useful for beginners but basically useless middle/endgame
They need to make catfood easier/quicker to get. Then we can get more ubers, more limited units, more +levels, and more np. Literally all things we want
honestly, i won’t say i have a cursed seed because it’s pretty stacked. however, i only got swimmer and jurassic cat around the time i beat stories of legend, which i always thought was really funny. only started tracking a few months ago because i felt like it and i’ve mastered it, surprisingly i find myself having a lot of fun tracking down and using units i really like.

I lost my first account two years ago, when someone robbed my phone. I was really angry because, until that point, I played for two years and I spent money on it a few times. But I ended up accepting my loss.
A year later, I decided to play again with another device. And the begging was sooooooooo boring. So... I left the game for a few months (never uninstalled) and I came back to make some progress with no rush.
And... Because of the time I wasn't playing, they gave me everyday awards for return player and, all of a sudden, I had a huge progress. Thanks to those everyday awards (and I search for information while playing) I'm way far in the game than I used to be.

I didnt get cancan until well into UL, and additionally, while thankfully not as bad, theres a number of other units that i didnt get until way later (mostly super rares)...now i did energy glitch so i sped through the game, so maybe its my own fault, but still, kinda crazy to go that long without one of the best units in the game
