  • The most dominant offensive line of the 1980s and early 90s, the Hogs led the Washington Redskins to 4 Super Bowl appearances and 3 victories from 1981 to 1991 - each time with a different Quarterback. They weren't the biggest or most physically imposing, but their teamwork, coordination, and intelligence made them a fearsome unit, and allowed them to cement one of the greatest football dynasties of all time.

Great video! This is why the NFL hall of fame is an absolute joke. How is it that only 1 offensive lineman from the hogs is in the the hall of fame? I'll never forget one Monday night game the redskins were playing the giants at RFK, and boy did Joe Jacoby put a hit on LT. The hit was so hard you could hear the collision and the pads popping on TV. You could also hear the fans react to the impact. Those were full grown men playing on that offensive line. Again great video I really enjoyed it.

The Redskins offense was a force to be reckoned with for almost a ten year period from the early 80's to the early 90's. The blocking schemes were creative and the execution was just superb. 1000 yard rushers, few sacks. I think one of those seasons they gave up nine or ten sacks. I watched a lot of the Redskins games in the 80s and so got to appreciate how good their offensive line was. The thing I remember best is when they put in their "heavy jumbo" offense when they were within a few yards of the goal line. They put in all their best offensive linemen and gave John Riggins the ball. There was no trick plays, no fake hand-offs, no throwing out of the backfield. Everyone on both teams and in the stadium new Riggins was gonna get the ball and the Hogs were gonna block. Basically, it was try and stop us. We don't think you can, and very few could.

Hated the blasted Redskins with a purple passion but, I'll give them their due. One of the best teams with the hogs, Riggins, and Butz and rest of defense. It tears me to say this but you have to give props when earned and due!

Where's their documentary? NFL Network sucks, they gave one to Dallas, when they basically stole our blueprint for success.
