Loved the BT ads... Linal Haft is actually a year older than Maureen Lipman 😂

The Mirov-2 really did capture the imagination for a bit there, didn't it?

04:00 Is this the origin of the recurring 'Ralph ant Ted' sketch in The Fast Show? I really wouldn't know about that, sir....

Some great ads, including those for British Telecom and Clorets

So many of those brilliantly directed and acted commercials are 'cancelled' in modern times due to their riffing on what was popular at the time, but all the great advertising agencies who won the commission and farmed out their catchy pitches to indi producers in Soho were absolute pioneers. So depressing watching commercial telly these days in the UK - funeral directors, donkey sanctuaries, premium-rate guess the word slots and frankly items beyond the reach of the average ITV/all commercial channels viewer.... if Anton Rodgers were on hand to extol the virtues of Tesla's new electric vehicle, I'd sit up and listen. If Martin Jarvis wanted to wax lyrical about the new iPad, I'd be all over it like a rash. Bah, humbug. ;-)

Lilt was awesome in the 80's but I swear they changed the recipe over time and it just tasted worse and now you barely see anyone drinking it

Yeah it did taste better in the 80s (more refreshing). It doesn’t exist anymore, it was rebranded this year as Fanta Pineapple & Grapefruit 😮
