Cool video Jeff, New School is a good idea I knew some of this info in this video but not all of it. It helps that I'm a huge 2011 fan but I'm loving your channel so far.
Thank you! It’s great to hear that people like “New School”. I will keep the series going on many different topics. I’m like you, I was familiar either way the general story but learned more while researching the topic. I appreciate you tuning in

Jeff - love and appreciate the hisotry knowledge!! I knew that STI started the double stack mag 2011 invention but was not aware of the players involved or that Sandy Strayer left to eventually start what is now Infinity guns.......awesome to know the history of STI, Infinity and the evolution of Stacatto!! Para Ordnance made the first double stack 1911. STI, from what I remember, made competition pistols for USPSA and most of them were in .40 and .38 Super to make Major power factor. STI and SVI co-owned the 2011 trademark for the longest time. 9mm became more in vogue after the FBI dropped the .40 in favor of the 9mm a few years ago, with the vast majority of state and local police departments following suit. Staccato hasn't made a 2011 in anything other than 9mm. They completely dropped everything STI during the name change.
@@jimbobborg22 Thanks for the additional info! I saw the Para P14 while researching this, I was trying to stick to the 2011 origin. Perhaps they influenced the development of STI, but I couldn’t find any connection. I appreciate your input! Thanks
Hey great info! What about the para hi-cap, ria hi-cap, and the remington hi-cap? Maybe a history lesson on those? Does anyone claim the 2311 moniker? Just wondering? I love anything 1911 cheap or expensive!
@@speedyx8988 Yeah, this video was specific to the evolution of the 2011 but there’s definitely another side, with the DS 1911’s. The Para Ordinance P14-45 was the first DS ( as far as I know). I could do a video on that side of the story as well
So I hear what makes a 2011 a 2011 is the double stack mag and the 2 piece frame. Can you go more in depth into the 2 piece frames? Show the 2 piece and how it compares to a 1911 frame
