I bought my first Alfa in 1964 as a daily driver. Always with outstanding handling and braking on any road surface. Had ten of them and in 2006 bought three from the 1960s as "collectors". The new "Giulias" are outstanding performers.

Security Gateway (SGW) bypass + MultiECUscan = DIY solution. No need to go to the dealer. SGW is located under the steering column. Could be a bit tricky to access. When replacing modules MES will do proxi alignment. Flashing odo = Missing communication in CAN network. This happens when replacing modules (or config). So there is a need to do proxi alignment. Then clear codes.

I have an Alfa Romeo 156 JTD (diesel) year 2002 115HP SW Progression, 285.830 miles (460.000km).
An incredibly powerful car, resistant, stable, easy to drive, low consumption, and very fast. It didn't lose any of the 115 HP (common rail engine). A car that the mechanics don't like, but that buries in terms of resistance and reliability many unfairly praised cars.

Thank you; I thought the same - make a sacrificial part as opposed to replacing half of the suspension. I love the engineering actually here and looking to buy my first Alfa next year!

Great video! Stelvio the Best car I had. High quality, reliable, powerful engine and a fantastic handling. Driving a bmw 320e since 3 weeks and I got knocking suspensions, rattling steering... a shiting german car..
I had a 1975 4 door Alfa Alfetta back in the early '80's. There were a couple parts that were exceptionally troublesome.
1) the motor mounts, chunks of rubber that bolted into place,
2) the trans axel, again, a chunk of rubber, like a doughnut with 4 bolts to hold the two axels in place and still allow for it to flex.
These parts broke all the time due to the all aluminum high torque 4 cylinder engine and manual 5 speed transmission with Spica fuel injection system.
I also had trouble with the start because it was on the bottom side of the engine and would get dirt on the contacts failing to start. I learned to park on hills so I could pop the clutch to start it. Good Times for sure!
We need more people like you, instead of throwing away things, fix them professionally.

This car is a great example why you don't want to buy a wrecked car. Tons of stuff broken that will never end. "Clean title" too....
Vlad, for fiat and jeep you can reset the fuel blocker using a sequence on signal button, I did that on one renegade…
An owners manual it says with the turn signals you can reset it I tried maybe hundred times still wouldn’t work.
I did same thing with late model alfa.i knew first guy was all bs. Great find, easy fix with clean title
Ooooh even in France we don't have rebuilts of these new Alfa's. I still have my 2004 156 JTS Selespeed
Hi Dr Vlad, engine mounts fail very often after a collision in french and italian cars, Renault cars with K4M engines, for example, have a plastic right mount that breaks away after a collision, even if it wasn't a high damage collision. Renault, Opel, Fiat and AR use "hydraulic" mounts filled with oil for more confortable engine run in some models.

The first dealership probably didn't want the liability of enabling a car with blown airbags. They have no guarantees you will replace the airbags. I'm happy the second dealership worked with you!

That key was cheap compared to my Mercedes E class that needed a spare key when I bought it the dealer was charging me 839+300 to program 1139 it’s a good thing they covered it.

Vlad the Destroyer, I know you will take down the problems. Also check the Pyro connector. You may have lights but it usually stops the startup.

I could be mistaken, but based off the matte black trim and the older design of the 5 hole wheels- that looks like a 2018 or 2019 model year. I believe they started using body color trim in 2020.

Great work Dr Vlad. I'm guessing it took a side hit, bounced over hard on the other side breaking the engine mount, then bounced back again and broke the rear shock.

Don't know about ALfa Romeo Air bag modules but latests BMW are not required to be changed only software reset. GM still needs to have the module reset or changed!

I'm guessing that motor mount is a shared part with other Alfa models that share the same drivetrain.
one question why repair the seatbelt if its only locked cuz of the tensioner...isnt the tensioner the reason the seatbelt is locked?

Noticed the seatbelt module was labeled "Mopar" so parts may be like a lot of Mopar cars. The Jeep Grand Cherokee has oil filled engine mounts as well...when they go bad the car shakes BADLY....
Makes sense as they are all part of the Fiat brand
With Alfa Romeo when it's involved in an accident or Collusion..the car cuts the fuel to avoid any catastrophe or fire out break, and you gona struggle to start it again but it will be cranking ...to re activate it you need to turn the ....

You’re a magician!
The engine shaking like that is caused by the "limp mode". When the ECU has detected an engine fault that "may" cause damage if driven to the fullest, limp mode is activated and retards timing and combustion to a degree to where you have almost no power. The simplest things can cause it and it's scary at first...but completely normal. I've had my Giulia for 3yrs now.
Going on 2 years in June - best car I have ever owned. My BMW I had prior did the limp mode thing also. Was very scary at first, but no big deal at all. But the Alfa is way better in comparison.
