The flickering using white gas is not normal, Clean the jet, if that doesn't help the whole way to the bottle. Perhaps too much pressure on the bottle. When using the normal setup the pre heating is too short, resulting in yellow flames at the start. When using the silencer unscrew it, turn it around and screw open the valve for 2 sec. Make sure the white gas is underneath and not in the silencer. Pre heating in your case was too long and ineffective. Too much yellow flames, too long in the silencer. At last, I use the silencer only with canister gas, because with white gas it gets dirty pretty soon and uses much too much fuel. Also underburn is a risk when simmering.
@@sebastianrudnik6653 underburn is when the main flame and the main heat is underneath the silencer cup. This destroys the silencer pretty soon. Whitegas works with the silencer, but not very good. Reasons: Uses much more fuel than without, I mean really much more. Underburn is always a risk, you should have the normal burner cup with you (which gives you more weight to the silencer and the extra fuel for the waste of the silencer). Silencer gets dirty soon with withegas, so your hands will always smell like a gas station from the nearly daily cleaning with an extra toothbrush you have to carry for that purpose. If you go camping with a car, go for it (there are better burner, if weight doesn't count btw). If you do a longer hike, where every ounce counts, don't bother with the silencer, it will disappoint you.
Clean the white gas jet, looks dangerous. Longer pre heating without silencer. With silencer make sure the white gas don't stick in the silencer. I screw it off, and turn it around for getting the fuel underneath. Then screw it on and light it. Better don't use the silencer with white gas, it gets dirty too fast, especially by the way and time you pre heated it 😂
@@some_developer Sorry, I'm not a native english speaker. The white gas will drop down in parts, but the mesh in the silencer will be full of white gas and will burn above the part that needs to get hot, the base under the valve. So it takes longer to build up the temperature needed for a blue flame. You hear a hissing sound if it's hot enough. And your mesh in the silencer will get dirty from the yellow flame. It's already a underburn from the start and it's difficult to get the flame out of the silencer. The white gas needs to be on the pad underneath. Get it there for the start and prevent the silencer from burning inside with a yellow flame. Test it, I was frustrated from the very unclean start, if the white gas is mostly in the mesh. Or take some alcohol with you for the start and only make it on the pad underneath for the start. That's clean, but you have to carry the alcohol.

Danke, das war Mal konstruktiv und kein dummes Gelaber mit Musik und pipapo.
Hat der die selbe Leistung mit und ohne silencer?
I have not tested the efficiency with and without yet, but i haven't noticed it being slower or using more fuel.
Er ist langsamer und hat weniger Leistung. Der Verbrauch steigt spürbar (und messbar).

Great advice here
What do you mean with underburn?
Why would whitegas not work with the silencer if properly preheated?

How can white gas get stuck in the silencer given that it's liquid, or do you mean some combustion products?

@@M4sterMayhem Ah, thanks for the details.
I want this stove to add to my collection but I think the Optimus Polaris is better tbh
