I've had several of these knives, I give them to friends, been using them for years! That's my torture test and this knife passed, good inexpensive knife. Bob Dozier is from Arkansas!
I have asked you to review this knife in past comments, I am really glad you did. Thank you. The Cold Steel SR1 Lite and the KABAR Dozier are my favorite knives. I really can trust them for pretty much anything. The Dozier is extremely tough for how compact and light it is. It really is a beautiful and smartly designed knife. They used to make a large/XL version of it but stopped producing it. It also looked a bit different in shape. I would love to see new large/XL/4" version of this that looks identical in shape and materials. I am also a fan of the variety of colors it comes in. It is also fairly easy to take apart and adjust the lock bar by bending it in a vice or pliers to make it easier or harder to open. Respect to Bob Dozier for this one.
Very good idea to test budget folding knives just try to find sturdy ones like cold steel double safe hunter or pocket bushman or bush ranger lite thank you for your help
The Ka-Bar Dozier and Ontario RAT1 were two knives I intentionally chose AUS8 over D2. For mass produced budget folders, I'm more confident in the certainty of AUS8 than rolling the dice with D2 in mass production knives, where it might not always like sharing an oven with hundreds of its friends. The Dozier is a strange knife in that it has neither washers or ball bearings, but pivots on a raised hinge made from the same Zytel as the scales, so it was interesting to see how that held out.
I'm not surprised at all I've had one of these little pocket knives for about 15 years now, it's crazy that you could buy five of these for the cost of one bug out... As usual great video joe!😎

It is still not better than the world famous legendary Dollica folding knife. Spyderco tried to copy the flawless design of the famous Dollica.. and it looks like KA-BAR has tried to do the same by copying the Dollica handle design. Even El Bricko and the mighty Iron Rod would not be able to damage a Dollica. I keep my Dollica razor sharp.. and only bring it out when I mean business!

Lockbacks, without the stop pin and deep lockup notch found on TriAd, are not safe enough for my fingers. I don't think any lockback is safe enogh, even Spyderco despite their hugh quality.
I rewatched your video. While I still prefer Cold Steel Triad locks, I don't think anything in the Cold Steel line hits the sweet spot of ruggedness, thin & light, and low price that the 3" Kabar Dozier fills. It is, in many ways, the knife that Cold Steel _might_ have made if it had not replaced the original thin and light 3" lockback (not TriAd) Voyagers with the TriAd version that "upgraded" to an overbuilt metal lined thick handle with a TriAd lock tuned to be very difficult to unlock. What are the closest alternatives currently sold by Cold Steel? The Verdict screams for attention since it has thin, unlined handles and a thinner blade, lighter, but it's much more expensive - the Verdict is my EDC, but I don't want to dull the blade with package opening etc. The 1911 passes the price test, but it's a liner lock with a flipper, and needs some caution - clipped is ok, but loose carry it might get jostled open, especially with that protruding flipper. The Grik 3" is tough but weird and almost an ounce heavier; the 3" Mini Recon, is mid-priced but also a little chonky and heavy. For package opening and other utility chores, the Dozier makes a lot of sense. It's definitely good to see a non-Triad lockback pocket knife hold out as long as this did; your testing methodology has changed since the Buck 110 LT (you start out a little easier before moving to the impossible stuff) but I don't think you could ever hammer the 110 through the door sheetmetal of that VW - that astounded me, I expected the Dozier handle to disintegrate, or the handle to flip over (lockbar failure in either direction). It looks like the tight tolerances and strong spring kept blade and handle in alignment despite your hammering. The tree limb chopping in the beginning was also a great test of ruggedness, I expected the blade lock to fail and flip the blade upwards, heck that much whittling (instead of whacking) would have failed some blades. To progress to whacking the the VW was extreme, but it was tough. Yes it failed the more brutal tests (brick!) later, but those tests you do are very, very tough. I just added another to my collection to see how it's doing, ten years after my original shopping. It seems very well made. Materials are first class - AUS8, Zytel - lockback spring is strong (some Spydies depress way too easy imho). Only the sharpening disappointed - won't slice copy paper, only dents it. Not acceptable from a modern factory with such good build tolerances. Easy to fix, though! Finally, I fell in love with pocket knives when Gerber rolled out it's first "modern materials" pocket knife, the Gerber LST with Zytel handle. I've cut a lot of slack for the LST over the years, but imho it uses pin not a bolt for the axle, it's tolerances are sloppy, the steel is inferior, it has side to side wobble. This Kabar Dozier is truly a spiritual successor to that wildly innovative LST. Thanks for revisiting this Dozier in a recent video. It got me to give it a second chance and revisit my original comment. I give it a lot more credit now, thanks to you, and I like it.
