Phil plays and sings brilliant stuff and the guitar work is top drawer. Who cannot like it.. They must be tone deaf.. He just gets better.. Live long and prosper..
Such a beautiful song, it has a lot of sentiment for me as it brings me back to my sweet memories of my good old times. Hopefully it wil be on spotify one day 🙏🏻

Enhorabuena, por desgracia, eso pasaba mucho antes y ahora gracias a internet podemos disfrutar de muchas canciones que nos encantaban y nunca pudimos saber su autor ni su título. Me siento muy identificado contigo, pues a ml, también me ha pasado lo mismo con temas que de no ser por aquí, jamás los habría vuelto a escuchar. Mi truco para encontrarlos es fijarme en el estribillo, pues normalmente, suele ser el título y ya a investigar como tu hicíste,...hasta dar con la tecla. Me pasó con el grupo Dreams Academy y un tema que repite mucho oh mama, mama , mama. y probando por aquí y por allá ...ni se llamaba nada de mama...pero una cosa me llevó a otra y hasta que la descubrí....y me sentí muy feliz.
El título era Life in a northen town...es decir... ni siquiera el oh mama. mama.. mama ..pero, empecé a buscar oh mama.. y mama y mas mama y hasta que algo salió y me dió la pista... al final la pista sale, eso fijo... Un saludo !!

07/26/2023 The perfect storm of music and current events, and history comes flooding back - good timing for a first therapy session with a new therapist that is coming up in a few short days... I have Phil Carmen on repeat at the moment - it hurts so good! I can't actually remember in what context I was introduced to Phil Carmen, but both of his "Moonshine Still" and "Linda's Café" grab me in ways that not much else does. The "good" hurt is tainted with trauma, though: A family friend recently left her husband and home after 37 years. Her story of abuse is horrifyingly similar to mine - and she is where I would have been after 37 years of marriage! At least she didn't leave her country and everything she knew - at least she has her family and home-country to fall back into. But 37 years is an awfully long time. Starting over at 58 - her story is different from mine, but it's not so different, really... And here is where I found the "gift" that resulted from my abuse - the gift my mother was talking about - it's not just about "understanding" - 'understanding' is a selfish/ ivory-tower kind of act. Understanding without action is selfish! Here I could do something - I could convince another human that she was not crazy; that she didn't do anything to deserve any of this - and that there was hope for a better life on the other side. I am living proof! I didn't tell my story until just recently - and even then - I have only told it to select people. What if I had been more open about what happened to me? What if I finally talked about some of the things that happened to me during my twenties. that I have never told anyone about? Would it keep someone else from continue to get hurt. I envision a campaign using images of professional women "this is the face of an abuse victim". I have never gone back to read the diaries I wrote back then. Maybe I should start there. ..and then again - I had just started looking forward in my life - here I am looking back again.
Phil Carmen was my hero back then. I wonder what he is doing now. My favorite track of him is still "Cool Night Water", you know, the really long version from the LP, I loved it. This piano solo... was a masterpiece.

Imo the theme of the lyrics doesn't fit. It should be about the ocean breeze 💦🐬, relaxing in the sunset 🌞🍧🍉🥤, the scent of exotic flowers 🌺. That's what's on my mind when I listen to the instrumental part, which I could do all day long. 💚
