One day a few years back I was working as a Ford Salesman for a dealership in Upland Ca. I got asked to drive up to Aptos Ca to deliver a car for someone who bought a Mustang. On the way up to Santa Cruz County I took highway 46 to cut across to Paso Robles to make my trip shorter. Well, when I got near where James Dean crashed in Shalom I couldn't help but feel sadness for him. The area is still pretty much the way it was back then and the only changes there have been is to the road. As I drove the same route that he did I imagined what was going through mind. Let me tell you it's so easy to get distracted on that highway. There is nothing but mountain ranges and fields and if your not paying attention you can crash so easily. But...there is something about that place also that is beautiful and peaceful and you get the sense that James Spirit is there protecting people on that same highway. On my way back down to L.A. that same night I was all alone on that road heading towards the 5 south and I started to freak out little. I was thinking what if I get a flat...or my car breaks down...then I'm pretty much stuck out here in the cold and dark all by my self. But when I started to get close to the same spot again all of a sudden I felt a peaceful presence with me. Like it was saying to me "don't worry, it's going to be ok" And everything was ok. I'm telling you all that James Dean protects people on that same road that he died on. Well, that's my story about my adventure to where he passed away. If anyone goes by there be sure to pay your respects to the Man.
That's absolutely beautiful that his spirit lingers there to protect people. That's a high purpose- to be guardian angel and protect people on a road- as we much as we miss him. Maybe that was his souls destiny to protect people there. What you said is beautiful and Take a sting away of James's loss. He is guardian spirit there, good for him-and for you in protecting you there.
I will pay my respects by driving up there and stopping where his spirit lingers putting two books in a plastic bag for him. At the site- the little prince which he loved and rileys poems too. Then I 'll get a balloon and some plastic flowers which won t fade. Other people can read the books too. It will help keep him company and give us joy if his life and comfort. There is no death. Maybe we can all start a James Dean memorial library there. He would have liked that. Take a book, leave a book. That will make so many happy.

@Politically Incorrect Bender why do you say that? I think James Dean gave his most powerful performance in "East of Eden" (1955). I also think it is one of Elia Kazan's greatest films. A couple of my favorite films were directed by Kazan. They are "On the Waterfront" (1954) and "Gentleman's Agreement" (1947). Both movies deserved to win the Best Picture Oscar in my opinion. To go back to Dean, I found his performance in "Giant" (1956), to be second best to "East of Eden".
He is still young and beautiful in the hearts of those of us who remember him as I do. He made a lasting impression on those of us who were also young then.
Great Video. Since I was 16, now 20, people (generally older folk) have told me that I remind them of James Dean. At first I didn't know who it was and shrugged it off, then when I got out of high school I became a huge fan. About 4 weeks ago, Friday February 13th, I was involved in a very bad snowmobile accident at night. Was found with critical hypothermia and unresponsive. Got life flighted to the nearest hospital. One week later, after being fed through tubes and breathing through a ventilator, I woke up. Now it is as if nothing had ever happened. Doctors said it was a recovery like they had never seen, since 90% of people with my type of brain injury never wake up, and most that do are mentally retarded for the rest of their life (according to them). I got lucky he didn't. Now feel closer to my hero than ever. RIP. Happy I didn't get to meet you yet though.

Grazie James , tenero e dolce ragazzo con quella febbre nel tuo sguardo e quella frenesia di volertene andare così presto tra gli angeli del Paradiso 😢❤
The song connects to the theme of the book and movie(the great gatspy) because it talks about a forbidden romance of two past lovers. It shows that the love Gatsby and Daisy had for each other is in the past and they must move on.
James Dean had one Pepsi commercial from 1951. The production crew knew they had a Star. James Dean went to make 32 films for television between 1952-1955. Some of these I have watched on RUclips and they are good. You see a Star in the making. James is primarily known for his three movies, East of Eden, Rebel Without A Cause and Giant. I agree, James was a fantastic actor who had so much more to give as a person and actor.
American Film Institute left East of Eden off the list of the 100 best American films of all time. In regard only appear Giant and Rebel Without a Cause. The same happens in other relationships with less prestige but which serve as a reference for many moviegoers as The 1000 movies you must see before you die. I think these selections do not correspond to reality or to think that the general public. East of Eden is the best of the three films and also the best work of James Dean. The actor has worked on over 30 productions on TV and also starred on Broadway, but was in the role of Caleb Trask Dean became a star. His interpretation provocative, innovative and visceral, thanks in part to the text and the direction of Elia Kazan, was a milestone in the history of cinema.
I am just speculating, but I think the reason they left East of Eden off list had nothing to do with James Dean and everything to do with Elia Kazan. Kazan had many enemies because of his actions during the Anti-Communist hearings. When Hollywood gave him a Lifetime Achievement Award, many people didn't stand to applaud and there were protesters outside the Academy Awards. James Dean was just part of the fallout.
The photo at 2:56-58 is lovely. James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor grew close on the set of "Giant", and here they are relaxing over coffee. Both are young and beautiful.
I prefer E Taylor & Montgomery Clift. They were young and beautiful in "A Place in the Sun". Monty was a beautiful looking man and they made a gorgeous couple even if it was just in the movies.
@@PatriciaMoreno-ff8pr Indeed they were. And they were great friends in real life. Monty even admitted feeling sexually attracted to her, which for some reason, shocked him.
sayuri15 Oh really? Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it, I appreciate it! ( I think River Phoenix is very similar to James Dean, I loaded few videos about him, one of them with "Young And Beautiful" as soundtrack. It's a powerful song for special souls I guess.)
Forever young. I miss him. I've seen dreams of him, he is present, but when I want to see his face, he turns, but the dream ends. I often think of him. Thrilling era of 50's. I found Jimmy in 80's when he came back "in fashion" . I was very young then, he became my idol.
It was not just his looks there are lots of nice looking guys he had something else too that wildness rough but tender dangerous but gave a sense of safety.
@@PatriciaMoreno-ff8pr According to me, James Dean was also a special pearson. If you want me to "elaborate" this point, I'll give you some hints, hoping you'll be satisfied. First of all, he had a very uncommon childhood: he suffered for the lost of his mother when he was eight years old and he had to live with his uncle and aunt. Nevertheless he was warm-hearted and kind: he was maybe difficult to understand, because of his shyness and his habit not to open to others, even if he needed the contact and the warmness of other people. He was special in the very sense of the word: he was different from everyone else, he was charismatic and enigmatic at the same time and I like him because of this peculiarity. If you want to learn more about James Dean, there is a very interesting biography, written by John Howlett. Regards.
Amazing job on this video! The editing, the timing with the music. The scenes and pictures you chose. Definitely stole my heart and represents the loss of a great man and actor.

The actor has worked on over 30 productions on TV and also starred on Broadway, but was in the role of Caleb Trask Dean became a star. His interpretation provocative, innovative and visceral, thanks in part to the text and the direction of Elia Kazan, was a milestone in the history of cinema.
I completely agree.
He and many others (male/female/black/white) were unique and ahead of their time. Rest in Paradise. 💜👋🧡🙏
This is so good, I love him so much, I can't find words to describe how much it means to me. I'm so glad there's still people vidding him, great video
fuck yeah, I'm not the only one who finds the biggest muse in him .
I wish I had friends who loved him too
He just seems so real. No air about him. He'd talk to me if we met. I sure do still miss him.
Real beauty , perfection
Both Marlon and James are my favorite
So sad a beautiful soul r.i.p james gone but not forgotten
Just beautiful tribute of wonderful man in the world
Impossível não amar james dean
The photo at 2:56-58 is lovely. James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor grew close on the set of "Giant", and here they are relaxing over coffee. Both are young and beautiful.
I prefer E Taylor & Montgomery Clift. They were young and beautiful in "A Place in the Sun". Monty was a beautiful looking man and they made a gorgeous couple even if it was just in the movies.
@@PatriciaMoreno-ff8pr Excellent point. And they really cared about each other.
@@PatriciaMoreno-ff8pr Indeed they were. And they were great friends in real life. Monty even admitted feeling sexually attracted to her, which for some reason, shocked him.
Wow! So professionally done! A masterpiece! Looks just like a TCM Remembers video. Great choice of pictures and music. Thanks!
Thank you :)
The East of Eden Train scene. Is so Iconic 😊
The camera loved him. He never took a bad photo. No matter where he was or what he was doing. He is mesmerizing ... and heart breaking. 💔

Oh really? Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it, I appreciate it! ( I think River Phoenix is very similar to James Dean, I loaded few videos about him, one of them with "Young And Beautiful" as soundtrack. It's a powerful song for special souls I guess.)
I couldn't agree more !
23 years old...with mind of a man by 50
My icon, love, damnn i love him so much my idol 😍
Beautiful James Dean
Something special in him!
Amazinly done!
I am a big fan of Dean and miss him every day!!
❤❤
Forever young. I miss him. I've seen dreams of him, he is present, but when I want to see his face, he turns, but the dream ends. I often think of him. Thrilling era of 50's. I found Jimmy in 80's when he came back "in fashion" . I was very young then, he became my idol.
So handsome!
Unforgettable Jimmy, young and beautiful, really, in my heart till the end of my life, rip , my beloved Jimmy
Cathy

+Christine Hubert Thanks !
Ich danke...
It was not just his looks there are lots of nice looking guys he had something else too that wildness rough but tender dangerous but gave a sense of safety.
He was really handsome, wasn't he? And also a special person.Good video, my best compliments!👍
In what way was he "a special person" besides his acting ability & good looks ? Please elaborate.
Regards.
Hes just stunningly handsome .😍💕
JAMES DEAN MAKE ME DOUBT MY HETEROSEXUALITY...
Dude was a PETER PUFFER.
Amazing job on this video! The editing, the timing with the music. The scenes and pictures you chose. Definitely stole my heart and represents the loss of a great man and actor.

The archetype for all the actors to come after.
I wish we had a chance to see more of him. Life sometimes can be so cruel and unfair
