When I played Evil science for the first time and thought I was done after almost two hours before I realized there’s an elevator… I vividly remember the unreal feeling of pure disbelief when I witnessed the second floor’s masacre and realized I’m nowhere near done
This has to be one of the most unique horror games I have ever seen. No scary monsters. No jumpscares. Just an ordinary janitor having to clean the mess left by forces far beyond their control, completely indifferent to the carnage that took place.
Years ago when the game was at its peak I begged by dad to let me buy it. He agreed, glancing at it and assuming it was just another generic horror game (as I was prone to at the time). Later he saw me playing and asked me how it was. He watched me play while I explained. He asked “so when does the monster show up and kill you?” I told him there was no monster. I was just the janitor cleaning up what the monster had done. He laughed so hard at the concept of this being a game he had to sit down. Truly a gift of a game
Imagine this janitor guy being friends with a camera guy who never gets hurt while recording these tragedies live and the two of them have casual, friendly conversations about whatever today’s unfortunate event was
Janitor: i had to spend roughly an hour cleaning two floors worth of a massive alien slaughter in a laboratory. Cameraman: You kidding? I had to record seven hours worth of zombies tearing humans limb from limb!
Janitor: Were those the zombies in HalCo or VilTec Labs? Cameraman: VilTec, I think. Janitor: Oh God, I got a job there and that safe room REEKED. Like, seriously, clean up your damn food when you're done with it! At least make my job a bit easier, y'know? Cameraman: Feel ya, man. So much was happening all at once. I actually think I strained myself trying to keep concealed.
C: By the way, there is a guy in a vent shaft on the second floor. What a bother, had to constantly film from his back _and_ front jumping every three seconds. J: Never understood how they keep finding the the most hidden nooks to cram into, dying and getting so stuck it's impossible to get anything out without dismembering. At least sometimes whatever killed them has already done that. C: Stress, probably. * Proceeds to cut out most faulty scenes where blood completely covered the lens * J: Yeah, should be stress. * Tosses another mutilated body into the incinerator *
im glad this video did well because more people get exposed to the game. It is a relatively old game coming out in 2014 I believe, but is just another example that obscure indie like games can thrive in the PC community.
If I remember correctly, this game was inspired by Space Station 13, where things do get messy too and janitors are often the quiet heroes of the station
The only thing this game is missing is the ability to import your own music library and play it in game through a speaker with kinda muffled audio. That would satisfy me very much.

@@ValirValor That is literally his job. It bothered me too; if you mess with the body parts they’ll roll around and make more blood stains, so it’s more efficient just to get them out of the way first before moving onto the actual cleaning.

I dont know what is funnier. People paying for a game to literally just clean in which takes a lot of time or 2.1 million people came and watched you do it. Real talk though.... I bought this game on release and I love it.
Things I learned watching this video: You can safely stack 2 water buckets and carry them around the level without issue; You can spawn a new water bucket before you've grabbed the last bucket, so long as you pick up the last one within the few second window before the two buckets collide; The incinerator works on its own even with the door left open; There are keyboard shortcuts to quickly rotate held items in multiple directions (spinning buckets, orientating severed limbs into a vertical position, etc.); Equipment can be YEETed far down the hallways; Non-deadly trash can be picked up and disposed of, such as paper cups and soda/beer cans; Medical cabinets and other in-map consumables can be restocked; Some props (like the rectangular medical boxes) have designated areas on the level where they're ALL supposed to be returned to, regardless of their original rooms. Things I didn't learn in this video: How to identify who died where to what, or how to record that data.
This is the kind of game that if you're playing alone, you get that uneasy feeling of you're not the only entity on the map and something who did all these killing would pop outta nowhere. If you're playing with friends however, it's just a huge train of dumb humors.

You make this game look a whole lot easier than it is. I really enjoy it. For people wondering how its hard, the game is heavily physics based which can screw you over very easily. Also there are random hardware malfunctions sometimes which will make more mess to clean. Also you can spill mop buckets, which can make more messes or just be a waste of a bucket. So this game can be frustrating at times. But if you have godly patients its just fine.
This reminds me of when I used to work at a slaughterhouse and at the end of the day the building was bloody and disgusting, but the cleanup crew would come in at night and have the place looking spotless the next morning

I saw this on my page recommendations and putted this to play in the tv . . . Then my mom saw me with a strange face and asked me why am I watching this and my answer was that Ihave to say it's kinda entertaining how a person cleans the a whole lab after such massive murder with no questions asked, then she watched the rest of the video with me.
Used to play this with some buddies and the cursing and arguments when someone knocked over a blood bucket, or God forbid a container of shell casings or intestines, were the stuff of Legend. Would always pick up something and turn around too fast and just fling stuff in every direction. Hilarious game
I can't explain why, but similar to videos that show the reload animations of all weapons in first person shooter games, this is oddly calming and satisfying to watch.

Don't get me wrong, if I could poke a mop at a couple stains three or four times and suddenly an entire room is clean, all for the maximal effort of a few light wrist flicks and repeated jabbing with one finger, absolutely I would.
