      I know I'm a year too late, but this actually seems like the stuff all the people who vape e-cigs have - you coil up a wire, it heats up ... Just an idea - if you buy a vape mod, put couple 18650 batteries and you have a portable one ;)

    I love your idea and how it turned out. a year a go I tried something similar but I used ni-chrome wire. The wire would not hold its shape when it got hot. So .... what is fuse wire?

    • @Woodworkingmasterclass
      @Woodworkingmasterclass  5 лет назад +1

      It's the wire they use for electrical fuses. Should be able to buy it from an electricians store. Cheers Steve

      +jeffb957 Thanks, are you going to try it? Cheers Steve

      I think so. I don't have that slick pyrography set like you do, but my soldering gun is a twin lead type so I think I can do much the same thing

    • @Woodworkingmasterclass
      @Woodworkingmasterclass  8 лет назад

      +jeffb957 Should be fine. I does rip the heat out of it fairly quickly so be patient with it reheating that way you won't get half burns. Looking forward to seeing the results. Cheers Steve

    Hi, i think your "mark or logo" is great! I want to make one for my own mark. I am brand new to wood working so i apologize in advance for my ignorance on the tools you are using to make the branding iron.
    I understand the "resistance wire" but what is the red box device with the iron you have there? What is it called? And does the handle iron come with that device or did you make that? Thank you for the video.

    • @Woodworkingmasterclass
      @Woodworkingmasterclass  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Lexie, The box is a Burnmaster I bought here www.cwsonline.com.au/shop/category/-burnmaster-eagle-woodburner . The Iron I used I made myself but it does come with 2 other one which work just as well. If you get stuck drop me another message. Cheers Steve

    Great idea! Is that a soldering station that you're using?

    • @Woodworkingmasterclass
      @Woodworkingmasterclass  8 лет назад

      +jimmymal No it's a dedicated Pyro set call a 'Burnmaster eagle'. The tool holder i'm using is a self made one not one that comes with the set but there are a wide range of tools that do come with the unit. Cheers Steve

    • @Woodworkingmasterclass
      @Woodworkingmasterclass  8 лет назад

      +David Peters I honestly don't know. The wire I use is various wattage fuse wire available from electrical wholesale outlets. Sorry can't be more help. Cheers Steve
