I really like the green plastics of that model and year. I have 2009 Super Sherpa has that color plastics. Also a 2016 KLR that’s gray and black digital. Like them both a lot.
I still like this gen (1987- 2007) better than the 2d gen (2008 - up) bikes. I bought an 07 brand new in late 2006... still kick myself for ever selling it. Looking for another one now.
"Lots of power and sounds good", lol what's wrong with mine? I mean.... sure, enough power for the road, but compared to most bikes it's slow as hell haha. Thing is quiet as hell and literally sounds like a tractor.
Hello from Costa Rica. About replacement parts of this bike... how easy is to get em in USA??? Some people say here in my country, that don’t this bike cause is too old and hasn’t replacement parts...
@@ticoenmoto It's difficult for some gen 1 parts, but the bike was the same from the 80s through to 2007, so a 2007 part isn't necessarily hard to find (plastics are your hardest). Plus most of the bike is still the same into gen 2, just some suspension and fairing changes.
This feels so retro, best klr video I’ve seen yet
Bought a 2007 KLR before seeing this video. Now I enjoy even more. Not going to win any race. But it finishes every race.
I 100% recommend a KLR 650 to any rider it does all things well enough , I really like mine.
I really like the green on that KLR 650!
I've had had parallel twins, V-4, inline fours sport bikes, cruisers etc. And now the KLR. Love this do everything comfortable bike.

A lot of good mods for the gen 1 KLR.

S the real rock that bicycle
This model had the doohickey issue
I sold my 2002 KLR and kept my V-Strom, but a year later, sold the V-Strom and bought my old bike back!
very informative and well put together!
I have 1986 KLR only 1100 miles. How much are these worth today in 2023 about, good condition!
They also smoke a lot of weed back then too..
I was thinking the same
Everything he said she said, 🤣
Do you prefer Gen 1 or Gen 3?
Man, these guys sound as though they work for Kawasaki.

Ended it with "I had a Fuc×!ng blast"

First time ever on a motorcycle was on this bike, almost killed myself
Me soon... Im worried now 😂
Love my gen1 if you can find a nice one, don't think just get it. Much mo better then gen2 or gen3.
