Expedition 36/37 Crew Heads to the ISS

  • Footage of pre-launch and launch activities of the International Space Station's Expedition 36/37 crew. Soyuz Commander Fyodor Yurchikhin of the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos), NASA Flight Engineer Karen Nyberg and Flight Engineer Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency launched on the Russian Soyuz TMA-09M spacecraft on May 29, Kazakh time (May 28, U.S. time) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan to begin an accelerated six-hour journey to the International Space Station.

    Fantastic! I remember how it was when I was a kid, every rocket launch to ISS was broadcasted on TV in swe and everyone watched it, now there's launches all over the world and it's no longer a big deal. Maybe in another 30 years we'll look at this like we look at traveling with airlines?

    Yes. They use those as a way to determine the G-Forces the craft is undergoing. The string will stretch more and more as they fact higher Gs and then, obviously, will start floating around when they get into orbit.

      mfk12340 3-6, but normally six it’s only three when a crew leaves

    At this point and time, humans dont realise we are in this together. Further exploration in space and globalisation will bring that knowlege to the people, as a mentality. Until then, war is not a thing of the past. They said world is in peace and growth before WW 2, its only 70 years ago that 10's of milion people died and nuclear warheads have been dropped. A Country without Military is just not a player, in the past and especially nowadays. And remember what founded NASA in the first place,

    Hmm! This all created the price of incredible tension of the people after the devastating of the Second World War at destruction, when all the world was hostile and opposed to Russia in the time cold war... Now this world is with an easy smile enjoys and says - it's all ours, it's common ..
