I born in 1997. My father was playing this in 1995 then, when I grew up at 2002,he searched for a NES and then gave me the oppurtunity to play.It was fantastic and still is! Lovely memories
I wonder how long was the trip with that slow ass sub marine looking boat...And I noticed it was never night time in that level since its like 1400 miles from Florida to NY...
It just dawned on me the insane premise of the beat em up. Like, Shredder sent a small army to take out his enemies on vacation. To stop them from foiling a plan that made no sense... that they didn't know about BECAUSE they were on vacation. Excellent 😁
This and part 2 was awesome. Ran and played so well. I remember playing a popular genesis franchise (no names 😆) beat em up and thinking "utter crap. Tmnt ran better".
I thought Turtles in Time was on SNES and Manhattan Project was on Genesis. I thought those were similar offerings with minimal changes for competing consoles. Yet, NES had "TMNT: The Arcade Game" which i thought was the same as Turtles in time and "Manhattan Project"???? I'm confused.
TMNT2: The Arcade Game was released on the NES in 1990 (based on the 1989 TMNT arcade game). TMNT3: The Manhattan Project was released on the NES a year later in 1991 (this was NES-only... the was no arcade or Genesis version). TMNT4: Turtles in Time was released on the SNES in 1992 (based on the 1991 TMNT arcade game). TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist was released on the Genesis in 1992 instead of Turtles in time. This was an original game that was unique to the Sega Genesis, and while it was similar to Turtles in Time, it had different levels, enemies and storyline. Hope this helps.
My question here is: Why do we have Super Shredder here and in Turtles in Time?. Did they just copy and paste the idea?. Because SS was my favorite unique boss and now I see him here also..
I use to love these Nes TMNT games, but looking back now, 2 was a bad game and 3 was better but they got boring quick. One of the reasons was that most of the stages went on for too damn long lol
2 was just limited in that it had to resemble the arcade game, and it was also the first Turtles game of its type too. 3 was much better because it got to be its own title. And it also came out later on in the NES life too. Makes me wish Turtles 2 was made with the lessons they learned on 3.
Miss the days I played this game. What a great old time memory!
