    I love the newer 6.8 Western! It's Winchester's updated .270 WSM and in a short action! 6.8 Western is hitting magnum numbers in foot pounds of energy on target too! It's hitting 17% harder at 500 yards then the 6.5 PRC and 34% harder then the 6.5 Creedmore! A lot of people laughed at the 6.8 Western including me saying why its just another .270 well that was when the 6.5 PRC came out with the new round deal with the new 1:8 twist, heavier projectiles, more powder in the casing the 6.8 Western keeps up with the 7m. Rem Mag at longer ranges but in a short action and that's what a lot of shooters are going for they already have their magnums for hunting out West here in the states. I fricking love your 300 Norma mag build, my buddies have the 375 Cheytec like you had, my buddies dad is pretty serious. Good shooting as always!!!

    I think the 102 did a very admirable job considering both chassis rifles were fitted with brakes and shot off an Atlas.
    Nice work Lithgow 👍

    Nice video. Hand loads and some guns like a particular flavour of bullet. I've found speer 150gn spbt to work very well in all my 30 cal guns even my Ruger precision in 308 like them and I can shoot coke cans at 250-300 meteors all day long makes a good hunting rifle for long distance head shots

    Thanks for posting!!
    Appreciate the time and effort it takes to post these videos
    I purchased a Lithgow LA102 laminated 6 months ago and also at the same time I purchased a Sako trg a1 both in 6.5 creedmoor, I do home load and the Lithgow out shoots the trg for accuracy and I have now sold the trg about 3 weeks ago as I wasn't using it as much as the Lithgow
    This is the first Lithgow that I have owned , I have been a Sako user for years Lithgow have a winner with this gun if only they could promote it as well as Sako do in the UK it would do fantastic

    I just purchased a 102 in 6.5 with walnut stock.
    Pretty confident in my choice.
    Iam sure the lithgow would improve also with hand loads.

  • @balazra
    @balazra Год назад +1

    The la102 with hand loads will easily do 0.1mrad/0.3moa out to the transonic zone in any of the cartridges tuned to the rifle.
    If you change to a better stock or chassis and add a break, I’ve had them out to 1k easily, 1 mile with a spotter and further depending on the cartridge. (2 km is the farthest I have a safe back stop for in my area.)
    I’ve not managed that with any of my friends factory rifles. In a similar condition. The tikka was close but they just don’t hold up as well over time in my opinion, they end up feeling loose not smooth.
    I’ve shot a lithgow action in different rebarelled chambering’s, 7WSM, 300wm and 6.5prc. The action still felt superb and with not much modification except the rebarrel and a bolt face milling to the appropriate diameter (308 bolt face is the largest factory offering from lithgow.) and a bolt stop channel milled, where as tikka is able to be a factory rifle in Magnums and long action.
    Lithgow may very well produce other chambering’s one day.

    Excellent test mate. I have to admit i expected the tikka to win this followed by the Lithgow then the fix. All 3 are great rifles though. Time for a super test 2 soon I would say.

    Great demo bro !
    I've been really wanting a Lithgow 6.5 creedmoor for some time now , at first I was looking at getting the la105 woomera.
    But only yesterday I was talked out of it from a gun store
    The la 102 will still be able to get me into the game of range shooting, and at that price ill be able to spend more on a scope ! Seems like a good way to go
    This vid has definitely helped me make a decision! Cheers mate ... keep up the good work !🤘

    Great video mate. I had my brother let me know about your channel and I've binge watched all the videos now.
    Being ex-army myself, I do miss the service rifle competition shoots and I like the looks of the PRS.
    Could you please tee up a video for those of us looking to get into the discipline, covering off basics like what you need, calibre recommendations, rifle types etc?
    Taking this video for example, you'd look seriously at 6.5Creed and looking at the rifles you'd think you've got two precision rifles and a hunting rig but the results aren't necessarily what you'd expect.
    Keep up the great content.

    Loved your video, and I did share it. The Fix gets a lot of positive publicity, and likely because it is a very light and easy to carry hunting rifle that comes from one of the US's best silencer manufacturers. It is a nice rifle but it is also nice to see it face competition in the accuracy stakes from Finland and Australia. This competition will see the three companies improve their products, and that's great news for hunter and shooter! Love seeing the Lithgow do so well in particular, and I will buy one. Thank you, again!

    I've started subscribing thanks to this information. I prefer the Lithgow only based on price, I'm a budget shooter. I'd rather spend money on a good scope and I already have the Lithgow in 308. And nice hat by the way, I'm sure Jay appreciates the advertising hahaha.

    Excellent vid mate but wouldve liked the LA 105 in the mix as a better comparison to the chassis. Ive just put in paperwork for a woomera 105. Its machining is top notch and can't wait to get out past 800 yards with it. 👍

    • @balazra
      @balazra Год назад

      The la102 in a chassis is fantastic and I’ve taken the .223 out to 1km , the .243 and 308 out to 1mile and the 6.5 out to 2km.
      The extra 2” and thicker barrel of the 105 looks appealing but the price tag put me off.
      I needed up putting the 102 in a MDT lss-xl gen 2 and also tried the ESS which was great. I’ve tried a couple of Boyds stocks and a grind has one in a carbon stock that is awsome.

      G’day Bradley, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I was using 140gr HPBT Hornady American Gunner ammo for the test and it was averaging about 2680fps in the LA102. It’s pretty mild but it is accurate and cycles through the rifle easily. The brass is good for reloading as well. I was out shooting this last weekend and my mate had his LA102 in 6.5 Creed and he was shooting to 1000m without trouble
