Hi Ben! I wish my Father or Grandfather was still around.... We don't realize how blessed we are when they are here until they are gone... Thanks Ben!!!!!!!
They look just like the 8" offset jaw "Diamond" brand pliers I used for so many years tying rebar in construction , great for cutting 14 guage annealed wire , and even 9 guage on occassion . Also when I put a new set of Klien Coat handles on . I would let them sit for 5 minutes in a pot of boiling water before installing . Or if I wanted to save the Klien Coats for a new set of pliers . I would put them in boiling water for 10 minutes or so , and gently work them off . I might have to do it 2 or 3 times , but most times I could salvage them . Great restoration and another thumbs up for a great video John .
I couldn't think of a better person to restore and bring those pliers back to their glory. Great job on those pliers. I do wonder how to get the cutters sharpened. If I understand, one side is the sharp part and the other is the anvil? I think you explained that before. Either way, they cut and Alex can use them. My dad has those panel hole cutters, the ones you screw together and punches a hole. They were horribly rusty and I de-rusted them and oiled them up and put in the tool box I made him in high school. Good times!
