I love Refika's ways of teaching Turkish words to her followers one word at a time. She is quite determined in this secret mission. Today's winner is "Nasip"..She is really killing me! 😂😂. By the way meaning of "Nasip" is, "what one meant to have".
Dear sister Refika - I live in the US but I could not agree more with your closing comments. I love your RUclips channel and have always enjoyed your energy and now I know why let’s grow this effort. We truly are all brothers and sisters - much love.
Thanks for this beautiful pilaf recipe Refika. I just would like to add.. I love Russians, Ukrainians, Israelis and Palestinians. We're one human species and love is stronger than hate. Love to all from Florida.
My hopes and prayers are the same as yours. You are such a loving, compassionate and beautiful woman. I can’t wait for what you teach me in the new year. x
First, your hair style looks nice. Second, I had the opportunity to prepare something similar to that dish while I never knew about it before now. I added coarse burgel, not rice, to those same ingredients and the result was good. I felt it needed some sauce to accompany that dish but I couldn’t come up with something special that could enhance the good combination of carrot and burgul. I am from Syria and this dish is not known there, but it deserves a try. Thank you for the good stuff❤
Refika, that was such a beautiful pilaf you made there, nice festive colours. That you for all the lovely recipes in 2023. More blessings in the New Year! Happy Holidays to you and your staff .
Warm hugs from Romania my dear .like always your recipes are fantastic. Ill try it for sure.easy .plenty of carrots and I think is very tastefull. Congratulation for your hard work
Hello. I'm not much of a meat person, but it looks good. Beautiful colors. Wishing all of you beautiful people a relaxing, peaceful and inspiring Christmas. Take care of each other. Greetings from Norway.
From watching so many of your videos, when I'm cooking sometimes I hear your voice, and "each must have her share" is one of the things I hear - now I learn it is "nasip" - thank you :)
Can’t wait to prepare this rice! Looks amazing. Love the combination of flavors in dressing it too. Thank you for the final wishes. Yes, there’s too much conflict and chaos. Let’s hope, as you say, that organizations and people will come together next year with a better vision and solutions
From romania warm hugs and I wish you a good New year full of happynes. I made today this rice .wow wow I said .this recipes is like a rainbow on my mouth , full of flavored someting which I never eat.i just have one Word. Thanks Refika for all your recipe and your hard work, bring us Turkiye in our plate.
Dear Refika, Wishing you and your team a happy and healthy new year. Yes, the past 4 years have been difficult and 2023 has been unbelievably challenging. I, like you believe in unity and the goodness of humanity. It is our job to continue our path to enlightenment through cultural exchange, gentle education and setting an example. I made the garlic soup adding some toasted pine nuts and it was very delicious. Hope we can soon return to our trips to Istanbul when things settle down. Susan
Love this dish and I cook it with lots of cumin and mostly with chickpeas as protein (or chicken if not veggie). I would also recommend adding dried barberries, especially if you don't have pomegranate, it elevates the dish so much!
Happy Holidays Rafika and to everyone on the team! I also hope the coming year brings SANITY, health and (reasonable) prosperity to all. Your concept of bereket (spelling?) is one all people everywhere should embrace. So our children's children's children can also prosper. Shortsightedness will be detrimental to all. Not just the greedy, misinformed and blind. Much ❤❤❤
Thank you Refika. I went at the beginning of the week to Karaca Westfield in London and I've been drinking tea Beakers everyday this week. They are brilliant I bought one of your knife as a gift to friend🎉
This is DELICIOUS ! Cinnamon is a nice surprise- what a treat! This would be a nice potluck dish. I’m looking forward to making this many more times. Thank you for the abundance of smart easy tasty recipes. ❤
I pray for that also Refika. Please be well and thank you for all of the delicious recipes. They are opening my eyes to different ways of putting food together.
I didn't expect to cry at this video and boy did I. Is there a specific kind of rice I'm looking for when I make this? I have a fabulous market near me and they have all the stuff I need. I am in LOVE with labneh. I use it in everything. I would teach my middle school students "nasip" but I'm afraid they would use against me:) So far they know "merhaba", "hadi", "yok", "evet" and "süs." Guess which one is their favorite. Thank you for your positivity, you and your team are spreading all the good vibes with your smiles. Side note: when you said you were going to make the onions sweat I for sure thought you were going to say "we do that by first getting them a gym membership." Love the sweater! Happy New Year!
I'm afraid so much of the Crisis we are in is on account of those with a lot wanting even more; of some thinking they know what is best for you & me and it doesn't matter if we like it; those with Power wanting more:- follow the money, it's frightening - and it's flat out wrong. I do hope Turkey has a better year than of late - no further earth-shaking moments - unless it's from archeologists announcing even more Amazing Discoveries from the Levant. Certainly wish you all peace, health and Happiness in abundance. Keep spreading the good word as your wonderful cooking inspires so much LOVE!
I admit to your hope and positivity; for the people where ever in the world. Thank you for being you, and inspiring as a human without cultural or geographical borders. Have good end of year days and wish you and all of your team a good and inspitring, oh and definitely tasty 2024 , MAC
Hmmm. Cinnamon powder added to the rice, interesting! I am surely going to try that. As an Indian from west of India our khichdi would be similar but without Cinnamon. And Amen to 2024 being a peaceful year for all🙏
thank you REfika and well said about the world! You're a beautiful woman with a good heart and you know how to cook! I wish food would solve wars, share food and learn from each others tastes. Thank you so much for all the love not just you but Bahar and your whole team! 🙏🙏🙏
That's an interpretation of Uzbek pilaf, cause the garlic is put as a whole in the middle, carrot is cut with bigger pieces, instead of the cinnamon cumin is put. Thank you
Your recipes are great! I did the tray kabob today for a few friends that have never had that before they loved it. I make it all the time for myself and partner. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.
Thank you Rafika for this incredible recipe of pilaf.... ❤👏 It really does look scrumptious 👌✨️ A very Blessed Christmas to you and your loved ones 🎅🙏🏻 And a healthy and prosperous New Year 🎉
Interesting. I am Bengali, our pilaf (we call it polao) does not contain onions, neither carrots, but I think I might add the carrots for extra veggies. We use ghee instead of olive oil and butter.
Thanks 🙏🏿 for sharing this recipe. I'll surely make this rice for this Xmas, it will be a change from my normal fried rice 😍 Be blessed as always 😇👍👍👌😀🤗
Thank you for your great cooking videos. I only have one complaint, not being able to actually taste your cooking. I also pray for peace on this earth. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦🌸🌸
just ordered the "karnıyarık" pot (the 30 cm one), the wok and the bigger size skillet. I'm so impatient for my order to arrive. in Turkiye we also have buy one get one free... which also helps my new year's gift to my mother. I'm super impatient :)

This is delicious! I was out of carrots, so I used red cabbage instead, and cumin instead of cinnamon and it turned out great.

My husband is Uzbek, I’ve never seen cinnamon. Looks yummy though!
Boun Natalie Rafita to you and all your busy team
Love that you talk about climate change.
just ordered the "karnıyarık" pot (the 30 cm one), the wok and the bigger size skillet. I'm so impatient for my order to arrive. in Turkiye we also have buy one get one free... which also helps my new year's gift to my mother. I'm super impatient :)
What type of rice are you using for the pilaf?
I'm thinking of making this with roast leg of lamb.
