Professor Lord (UK) has been a professor at ARENA - Center for European Studies at the University of Oslo, Norway, since October 2008.
He has written several books on democracy and the legitimacy of the European Union such as "Democratic Audit of the European Union" (2004), "Democracy in the New Europe" (2005, in collaboration with Erika Harris), "Democracy and the European Union" (1998), "Legitimacy and the European Union" (1998, in collaboration with David Beetham) and "Political Parties and the European Union" (1997, in collaboration with Simon Hix).
He has also published articles in the Journal of Common Market Studies, Democratization, the Journal of Comparative European Politics, Politique Européenne and Government and Opposition.
