Thank you so much for this video!! I subscribed immediately and have watched a bunch of your videos. Monday, while sick on the couch, I surfed card making techniques, stumbled on spray oxides and shimmer sprays and fell in love. I ordered a bunch and plan to craft all weekend!! Thanks for sharing your ideas, creating easy to follow videos with energy and laughter. You've inspired me big time!
Always fun to watch you work. I love your idea of sitting down to mass-produce backgrounds--got all the supplies out, why not go to town? Then so easy to personalize and finish a card when you need one. Thanks for showing us 9-ways-with-Distress-sprays.
I subscribed to your channel after Gerrie referred you for the Distress Spray techniques video. Amazing how many ideas were presented between the two of you!
Soso invigorating and cool. This would definitely be a stress reliever for me. I have about hall of the oxide inks, have only done two very easy techniques with them. Not sure if I wasted my money or not until I saw your video. Definitely not a waste. So many ideas running thru my head at the momment. Will CK out Jerry's so. Ty so much Laurel. Hugs!
DYNAMITE TECHNIQUE, Laurel! SUCH FUN & A SURPRISE EVERY TIME! LOVE IT! Really COOL card designs that I enjoyed a lot! I appreciate the link to your stamping buddy, too, so I can check out her ideas! :-)). I, too, like Distress Oxides but not as familiar with the Sprays so this was a NEAT ADDITION for me! Again, my thanks! Have a HAPPY DAY & STAY SAFE n’ WELL! Sending SMILES from Madison, WI! :-))
My question is about your stencil you cut on your cricut. Could you elaborate on that please. Maybe show how it’s done. Thank you Loved your video and your cards are fabulous
This is an older video but the process is the same as far as uploading your design and stuff. I use 6mm plastic sheets from Amazon. For detailed stencils, I might have to run it thru the machine twice.... Here is the link to the old cricut video: ruclips.net/video/Wz4ZusbJXoI/видео.html And Here is a link to what I use. amzn.to/2XSPMFR
Hi Laurel, Really Loved your crafty tutorial really loved what you done with the Distress Oxide Sprays so super cool thanks for sharing you and all your family stay well stay safe Lin, 💞👌👍🌟🐕🦋
I just ordered 9 colors. Love love my oxide ink pads so I know I will live the sprays. Love your magic mug. I do that but with left over pieces. Now I am going to try to make stuff ahead n challenge myself to use it all up 👍👍👍😘you are fun😘😘😂😉😂
Great ideas from you both, I am jazzed up to go use my sprays for more than just boring sprays. Hopefully when you run another competition I'll be around to enter it. Get to meet laurel now that would be hilarious i love your energy in the videos you really make people wanna craft
What @marina said. I just put heavy stuff on top of the dried prints (whatever I see lying around) and the next day they are super flat. You can also try hitting them with your heat gun (both sides) or ironing them, but really - that's a pain. Something heavy and flat will help!
I love these techniques! What material do you use to cut stencils with your Cricut? I’ve heard you mention doing this several times before. I’ve tried and have not had success at all. The blade just doesn’t fully cut through the material.
Although I like some of the effects gotten with distress oxides I hate the chalky muted appearance of the colors. I’ve tried going over the colors with the glaze but that still doesn’t brighten the colors. Any suggestions? Otherwise I think I’ll just continue using my colored inks and watercolors which have just as many or more effects I can apply and are permanent & archival.
Unfortunately, that's the look oxides leave. Glaze gives a little shine, but not a ton. You could spray a gloss spray over the top. But with all that effort, you can just continue using the inks you love.
Hi Laurel, I picked up a bunch of sprays and am having serious issues with them. They are not drying at all. Today I trashed 2 mixed media canvasses that I did last week because they did not dry. It was hard to do. Any ideas? I shook those bottles so I'm clueless. Thank you!
Very early point at this video I started to think "why do I always use white card stock?". =D And I knew these sprays are good with stencils but I haven't tried it yet. Now I have to, it looks very cool! =)
Ciao, i puntini neri cosa sono? Sembrano dei granuli di qualcosa..se volessi fare una versione 3 d ovvero mettere qualcosa in rilievo cosa posso usare? Sabbia…

Cool, cool, cool! Love the salt technique. Your backgrounds a so great, I don’t have any of the sprays-they look like fun. Have a great day! Hugs.
Thank U☘️
I just bought some this week
Now I have to buy more ;)
Hope you like them!!!
Thank you for the techniques. I'm not going to invest is a couple of these sprays. :)
Really clever and SO beautiful! When the paper curls, is there a good solution to that? Other than taping the heck out of it when using on a card?

love the stencil on dark card stock! How did you make the stencil in cricut design space? thanks!
Nevermind! just read the other comments😁
do you use spray adhesive when stenciling with this as demo'd? how do you hold the spray bottle when stenciling to prevent bleeding?
This is awesome. Yay!
I was surprised when the embossed dots didn't protect the original colour you put down, but were shiny, so there's that. Thanks for a fun vid.
Me too!
I love these techniques! What material do you use to cut stencils with your Cricut? I’ve heard you mention doing this several times before. I’ve tried and have not had success at all. The blade just doesn’t fully cut through the material.
I had to run it thru twice to get it to cut all the way thru.
@@LaurelBeard Okay. I will try that. Thanks!
I love the orange with black, Amazing! Thank you
What is your "magic mug"? Is it just your extra die cutting & such?
Although I like some of the effects gotten with distress oxides I hate the chalky muted appearance of the colors. Who makes the sprays, what brand?

Yay!
Do you know if these paints can be used in an airbrush? Im not particularly fond of how they splatter from the bottle.
Doubt it. They are thick.
