I could see this being good at a small scale, however at a larger scale i feel like dedicated Desalination Plant and a “Plant Factory” would be more cost/space efficient. You could even utilize the brine for chemical raw materials thus not discharging any of that.
I feel like the sunlight intensity will decrease due to water. Why not have a floating farm? That way, plants receive more sunlight and you can still get freshwater from condensation.
None of those replies make sense. Animals and birds will not reach the plants if the domes are less deep below the sea level. Additionally, they are already using dive equipment for the harvest which does not change if the height of the domes increases to just below surface level.
@@theunheardprophet4315 Why would you need to use dive equipment for above snorkel depth, just hold your breath. Also one could perhaps have a temporary lift, although that adds complexity and may mess with the atmosphere in the dome.
