The crowd singing is actually a form of "call and repeat" crowd participation - the label releases official fan chants and the fans learn them. For the recent concert in LA (PTD LA), an ARMY in the Philippines hosted fan chant practices every week for several weeks, on Zoom and in Twitter rooms. She also has a RUclips channel with videos of all of the songs with their fan chants. I was at PTD LA - my first BTS concert - and it was just amazing. I had seen several online concerts by then (MOTS ON:E, Sowoozoo, PTD On Stage, and several videos of concerts (5th Muster, LYSY in Brazil, Seoul, LA), but it's an exponentially higher, different level to be able to experience it in concert...and our tickets were up in the 500-levels at SoFi (where the Super Bowl is being held this weekend - they sold it out four times over, in pre-sale. Tickets never even got to the general public.). I am excited to see them again - hoping very hard for a tour announcement for later this year.

This one was their LY concert in Japan so most of the songs were sung in Japanese😊 that’s why Japanese ARMYs are the luckiest ARMYs because they always get to have a Japanese version to almost all their title song plus an original Japanese song😍

Yeah there really is no comparison in the U.S. music industry or in the western music industry as a whole (its funny because One Direction is always an example that people mention when talking about the US.. but they're actually English and from the UK haha 😂). Personally, I think it has a lot to do with the amount of time and constant work put into their craft. The trainee system really means that the members in these groups are working day in and day out to try and reach an incredibly high standard of not just one element but of ALL elements of performing (dancing, singing, rapping, stage presence, stamina, charisma etc.) and then even after they debut, most groups release albums or singles every few months and have very scheduled 'comebacks' which means they very rarely get to just rest. If you're signed to a label in the US, your contract will definitely say something about how much money you are able to bring in for the company and what not, but some artists go multiple years without releasing anything even if they're obviously working on things (even if they're some of the biggest in the world...say Rihanna for example, her last album was in 2016). It's not to say one way is better, because I'm sure a lot of K-POP fans will admit that though we love and appreciate all their hard work- the idol industry has a lot of faults and there are many times when idols are overworked or have needed a break but felt silenced by the immense pressure of the industry. I do think the attention to those issues, means that companies have had to re-evaluate and most groups seem to be getting adequate support. All that to say that, the time you put into something... the literal blood sweat and tears... they translate into visible, audible excellence. These boys worked their asses off to get where they are and it shows ☺
it feels so weird calling fake love as old... it felt like the song just came out a year ago, I can still clearly remember waiting for it to be released. Time flew by so fast and fake love still makes me cry, the song is so heartbreaking and so damn beautiful, definitely one of my favorite songs ever. It deserves a grammy.

a "comeback" in kpop terms is when a group/artist releases new music. so this was their comeback show to celebrate the release of the "love yourself: tear" album, in which "fake love" is the title track
To help you guys out with some context.
This specific comeback show was May 24th 2018. You guys were wondering when this one was. In the title of that video you'll see the number 180524. That's the date, most other countries outside the U.S. show the date as year (18 for 2018), month (05 May), and then the day (the 24th). Whereas we in the U.S. display the date as Month/Day/Year. So yeah this performance was well before COVID lol. Also a "comeback" is just any time an artist "comes back" with a new album and lead single (what American music industry usually calls the "Lead Single" is usually called the "Title Track" in K-Pop). American artists do comebacks too where they'll have a new album coming out and the first single off the album is the one they perform at talk shows or day time shows or do special live performances of to help promote the album that is coming out. American music industry just doesn't call it a comeback unless the artist has been away for a long long time. Normally American artists have "comebacks" every couple years as the industry's cycle for how often an artist puts out new albums is way slower than the Korean music industry (K-Pop acts can have multiple comebacks in one year). Whereas in K-Pop every new album/title track is a comeback, even if the group just had one a couple months prior. BTS had 2 comebacks/albums release in 2018, one in May and one in August. It was technically 3 comebacks in 2018 if you count the Japanese album too. So this comeback was to promote the album Love Yourself: Tear that came out the same month as this performance, with the title track obviously being Fake Love. Usually at comeback shows they perform most of or the whole album live for the first time.

comeback shows means they perform it within the week of their comeback! fake love was released in may 2018 so it was probably within that week if im not wrong. it was def in may 2018 tho. they had their comeback stage at the BBMAS. there's a great fancam of it by xCeleste actually!
It is one of the most difficult choreographies in KPop, said by Jimin and JHope that they are the Number 1 dancers (There are more good dancers, but they are considered the best) The difficulty lies in the expression, since it is a "puppet" dance , there are countless live performances of BTS doing Fake Love. I think one of the best is from MAMA 2018.
At this point... you guys need to start watching RUN BTS Show.... which will help you to know more about their personalities individually and the show itself is so entertaining...

Ever since you guys start doing reaction to bts and say that they are great. Im just waiting for today that you can see a better glimpse of how good they are. They went thru lots of hardship like 99% of ppl would give up but they're that 1% that strive and made it. Jin used to say that ppl were laughing at them when they debuted. They made a comment like "Dad, what kind of a person were you when you're younger. Oh dad was a bts member" and they all laughed at them but now everyone say they are legends. IT IS LIVE ... That was during the beginning of their fake love comeback, which was about 2-3 years before the pandemic started; this stage was more like a BTS focus version where the cameramen only focus on the stage and BTS but you can still hear the audience cheering and fan-chanting as well as singing along.
