Second guessing what type of person I would become
She had a skepticism that wasn’t easily won
From growing up in a trailer and getting beat like a drum
Alcoholic parents abusing her like it’s fun
They died never even acknowledging what they’d done
And then she met my pops her fate was already spun
He moved her up out the trailer and that was where they begun
Changed her life gave her a daughter then had a son
Vowed to keep her safe cuz she had no where she could run
And then one day after the smoke had filled up his lungs
He lost half his hands at work in an accident

Then started getting high with my sister my mom was done
Realizing that he had lost it all he was stunned
The heaviness of his sins was weighing on him a ton

There’s no other rappers music who speaks to me more on a spiritual and personal level than caskeys music. So much of his story I find so incredibly relatable that when I’m listening to its almost like he’s rapping to me or about my life or some shit. I’ve watched my whole family fall apart to drugs and shit, I’ve always felt like the blacksheep in my family, at school, and especially in this society. Caskeys music has helped me get through some really dark times and watching his career and hearing his story through his music gives me alot of inspiration and hope that I can figure shit out and live this life the way I want without any limitations! I really hope I get to see him perform at least one more time and get a chance to meet him again someday and thank him for his art!

This made me cry. I tried to take my own life this year and when I woke up in the ICU after being in a coma for almost a week and I saw my mothers face and I died again. I couldnt believe I had done that to her, and the guilt I felt for my actions motivated me to live a life worth living for the woman who brought me here and made a life for me.

This hit way too close to home, I lost my mom in November 2021 and she was my bestfriend and the toughest person I knew. I miss her all the time but your music has helped me and still helps cope thru that and several other things over the years. You are definitely a chosen artist, theres no telling how many lives youve changed and saved. Thats why we got your shit tatted, not just making dope music, you speak from the heart and channel your purpose. As 19 years old Native American. Life has always been hard for my family, especially for my mother. I relate to your song. My father is alcoholic/ Marijuana misuse. Introducing drugs to my older siblings at a young age. Every night was a nightmare (domestic/ sexual abuse). My mom was the only one who provided for us, and tried to point us to the right path. At age 16. I had dropout of school. Just to provide. Living this life left me with lacerations. Dealing with my unconscious aspects of my personality. I thank God for my strong mother.

One of the best songs ive heard in a long time
Me and my 3 siblings all put my mom through tremendous heart wrenching pain and even to the point of my finding my dead after one of many heroin overdoses. Walked in hearing the drug dealer say she’s dead I gotta leave and she’s an angel to my existence on so many times. Committed for 5 1/2 year for my mental illnesses and addiction. Just constantly in situations that flirted with death because I was not taking my meds the way I am supposed to. But my siblings have much too and hearing this dog makes me so grateful tor what a phenomenal mother I have and now I take my meds and do my treatments like therapy ect and I’m stable for the most part and it’s miraculous and I finally can be the daughter she deserves. She always believed in me when everyone else lost hope. Don’t know where I’d be in my life without her.

I've been following your journey for the past 6 years, starting with your mixtapes. Rapped about poppin pills and such. At the time I was doing the same too because I also lost my dad and coped with similar methods. This song made me shed a tear because I too now have came to my senses. Doing much better in life and will continue to strive forwards. Although our experiences are unique, we had, in some sense, a similar walk of life. Beautiful to see we both made something out of nothing. It's weird to say "love you, cas" but I will say that the love (and pain) you poured into your music made me connect with these very emotions, and for that, I do "love" you.
